January Monday Memes

Hello and happy Monday! How was your weekend? Per usual, we had a busy Saturday and a more low key Sunday.

Saturday was filled with errands and two basketball games for Hayden. By Saturday evening, I felt like I’d hit a wall and was tired, achy, and even had a sore throat. I’m guessing the vaccine was starting to kick in? I was asleep by 9:30 on Saturday and felt a bit better Sunday morning. After church, I changed back into pajamas, ate soup for lunch, took an over two hour nap!

Then, it was time to cheer for the our Chiefs! …

who are headed to the Super Bowl!

Obviously, the weekend ended on a high note!

So, since it’s almost the end of January…(how is that even possible?!), I’m sharing some of my favorite memes from this month.

When I do my monthly meme post, I add to the post as the month goes on when I find funny memes. I thought I had this post pretty much wrapped up until…

Bernie and his mittens happened! So I had to share a few of my faves Bernie memes too!

Bernie:

1.

I feel this deeply, y’all! Hadley is in the midst of cookie sales. She’s actually already surpassed her goal of 390 boxes! With no booth sales at Kroger this year (and just Covid restrictions in general), I wasn’t sure how she’d do. I helped her make a video to share with family, friends (and Facebook!), so that’s helped her meet her goal. Now we are just waiting on the cookies, so we can safely deliver them. Hayden wants his Lemonade cookies, STAT!

The kids will be surprised because I actually placed a small order to be shipped to the house while we wait on the bigger orders to come in. I’ve been so impressed with our out of town fam and friends receiving their orders in a matter of days! Real talk: I want my Peanut Butter Patties as much as Hayden wants his Lemonade cookies.

2.

and this…

3.

Of course, Bernie had to hang with my favorite ladies!

4.

Sophia and Bernie are quite a match!

My gma sent me this one πŸ™‚
5.

As much as I love my GGs, the Big Bang Bernie meme is the best.

6.

and…teacher memes for the win!

And I can’t find it but there was a meme of Bernie on the school playground with a caption about “teachers on playground duty.” haha πŸ˜‚

And now…on to…

First of the Year Funnies:

7.

Dorothy speaks the truth!

8.

While this one made me laugh, I still love January for a fresh start!

9.

Surely 2021 just started off rough and will get its act together.

I had a lot of memes this month thanks to the help of social media and Bernie. This post basically wrote itself. πŸ˜‚

Ok…let me end on one very recent favorite Bernie meme:

Go Chiefs!

I hope these provide a laugh or two to start your week!

Take care,

December Memes: Holiday Edition

Hello and Happy Monday! I’m going to keep it rather short and sweet today because I’m typing this in between rounds of baking cookies…with the kids!

We had a great weekend filled with Christmas fun. I’ll share more about that tomorrow!

For now, here are some holiday themed memes I’ve seen over the past month that have made me laugh out loud!

Enjoy!

1.

Tis the season…

2.

Y’all, I feel this one deeply. My Christmas cards finally arrived, but I’m still waiting on a few key packages to arrive that I ordered WEEKS ago!

3.

I didn’t even get to the laundry this weekend. Sigh.

4.

Well, I didn’t get out of my pajamas yesterday! That being said, whether it’s warm or cold outside, I’m all about the pj lyfe as soon as I get home.

5.

Bahahaha!

6.

Sometimes Facebook it just too much for me to handle…haha

7.

This one is a classic, and I love it!

8.

This one reminds me of Hadley who always checks “I tried” rather than “naughty” or “nice” on the wish list paper the elf leaves the kids.

9.

This rings true… especially in 2020. We’ve spent a lot of time together this year! Really, I just want to tag someone else in for bedtime. I’m sure I will give up over the next two weeks, and they will be tucking ME into bed!

10.

Oh 2020…you’ve been a doozy!

I hope these memes started your week off right with a laugh or two!

We are thankful to not be setting an alarm for the next few weeks and have less to do. I’m finished buying gifts, I but still need to make myself wrap everything which feels like such a chore. While it’s nice to have a break from school, we still have a few errands and appointments this week which makes it hard for me to feel like I can just relax and chill. The second week of break tends to be more relaxing for me.

Anyway, I hope you have a great week! I plan on blogging Tuesday and Wednesday this week, so I’ll see you then!

November Memes

Hello and Happy Monday! How was your weekend?

We kicked our weekend off with the kids having a small, outdoor birthday party with a few friends. The weather was perfect, and they had a great day! (more about that tomorrow!)

On Saturday, we were able to relax most of the morning, and then headed to the kids’ running club cross country meet. I knew we’d lucked out with Friday’s weather, but on Saturday hanging out in the cold temperatures and blustery winds while watching them run, made me so grateful for Friday’s perfect day. The meet was a national youth race with lots of teams from many states which provided some tough competition. They both ran better than they did at state two weeks ago, and felt good about their races! Hadley ran 40 seconds faster than she ran at the state meet, and Hayden had his first under 12 minute 3k race time. We were, as always, very proud of their effort…and thankful for the food truck selling hot chocolate πŸ˜‰

On Sunday, the weather was cool and rainy. Of course, I got my groceries for the week, we took some time to organize the house, and then went to another outside birthday party for our friends, who are twins, and turning 13!

OG kid crew ❀️

Then, it was time to settle in for the night, watch the KC Chiefs, and get ready for the short school week!

Like I do once a month, I’m sharing some of my favorite memes with you.

1.

Sarcasm is my spirit animal. πŸ˜‚

2.

Y’all know I love my quiet time in the morning! I try to have my 45 minutes to myself before the rest of the house wakes up, so I don’t have to say this to them when they wake up:

3.

LOL. We love both Netflix and Chipolte!

4.

Daylight Savings Time is still rocking my world. On Saturday, it was only 7:00, and I was trying to get everyone to go to bed! We all were pretty worn out and in bed by 9:00. #partyanimallyfe

5.

Thankfully, virtual home school is still going pretty well at our house. That being said, it doesn’t matter the age, around this time of the school year, kids start to get extra silly and not take school as seriously as they do August-October.

6.

Another virtual school funny….

7.

2020 humor!

8.

I definitely need to find some time to meditate! That being said, I am getting back into working out a bit since my surgery which has been good for my mind, body and spirit! (and patience)πŸ˜‰

9.

Some day are better than others!

Hopefully, these memes provide a laugh or two to start your week! I hope to post Tuesday and Wednesday before taking the rest of the week off to celebrate Thanksgiving, hang out with family, get caught up on rest, and hopefully put out Christmas decorations!

Take care,

October Memes

Hello and Happy Monday! How have you been?

I haven’t posted in a bit because I’ve been recovering from surgery that I had last Wednesday. I’ve been trying to take the time to slow down, heal, and sleep! I’m so tired, but happy that most of my pain has subsided; I’m hoping to get more energy back with each day.

I will probably write more about my surgery later in the week, but thought I’d share my monthly memes to start our week off with a laugh or two! Enjoy 😊

1.

I feel like this happens a lot in our kitchen…whether it be a husband, a kid, or a dog in my way, they tend to be right where I need to be at the moment!

2.

Target is my happy place. I’m always amazed at what I end up picking up even when I’m only going in for one thing!

3.

I shared this meme on Instagram stories recently. It definitely made me laugh out loud. Some days I can’t remember what I wore yesterday, but I can remember something petty from years ago! πŸ˜‚

4.

This is unfortunately the truth. The kids always seem to need me when I’m in the restroom, or I’m fussing at them to get out because they are fighting with each other!

5.

Daylight Savings Time is right around the corner! Maybe we should just go for it and buck the system. #2020amiright ?!

6.

I was doing this a lot in the spring. I joked that I usually buy myself an end of the school year gift and was basically making some kind of Friday purchase for surviving each week of home school and work from home life.

7.

The older I’ve gotten and the longer I’ve been a parent, the more this is true. Sometimes I just like a few minutes alone in my car. I’m the type the drives with no music on just so I can have a quiet and think to myself.

8.

This frame of mind is nice and may come in handy since I’m not supposed to drive for another week or so!

I hope to post somewhat regularly this week, but sleep and Homer snuggles are obviously my first priority!

Hopefully, these memes will provide a few laughs and get your week started off right.

Take care,

September Monday Memes

Hello and Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Ours was pretty much the same as last weekend with all activities involving the kids! They had a cross country meet on Friday followed by Girl Scouts for Hadley, and then Hayden had baseball the rest of the weekend…which means we did too!

Hadley was able to go to the pumpkin patch with a friend yesterday, so she was relieved of some baseball duties πŸ˜‰

We are ready for our short school week this week. Fall Break for us is Thursday and Friday of this week

I thought I’d start Monday off with a laugh or two!

1.

This meme is 100% me. I can’t control my facial expressions…and I’ve really realized that during Zoom meetings. 🀣

2.

I’ve said it before but half of my motivation when getting out of bed is being so efficient with my time with work, activities, and to do lists, that I just stay focused on the ultimate goal of being back in my pjs by dinnertime!

3.

2020. Am I right? Burpees are my least favorite exercise of all time.

4.

This! So funny and sadly true.

5.

Yes. Real talk. 🀣

6.

#adulting

7.

This one makes me laugh and want to cry at the same time. School pictures from a few years ago popped up in my Facebook memories yesterday. Truly, I hope the kids are back in school soon, and I certainly hope school pics are on the school calendar!

8.

I’ve seen this saying a few times. Too funny. And…it’s almost October. We’ll blink, and it will be Halloween!

I hope these memes provide a good start to your week. Have a good one!

Take care,

August Monday Memes:

Hello and Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Again, we’ve lucked out the past few weekends with downtime at home mixed with being productive at home and, of course, baseball. There’s always baseball. At least for a couple more weeks πŸ˜‰

Friday, my brother and his family stopped by, so we caught up for a while. Then, we kept dinner low key with pizza from Dominoes (Hadley’s fave!) for dinner.

Saturday morning Hayden had a game. His team is so fun to watch; they are a great group of boys. Later, Travis took one for the team and assembled Hayden’s new desk while I did my workout, read my book (I’m LOVING 28 Summers), and planned our grocery pickup for the week. Then, we helped Hayden get his room organized. He had to purge an entire bookshelf to make room for the desk. Hayden gets his “pack rat” tendencies from me. πŸ˜‰ Saturday night, we had steak for dinner (delish!) and the kids played outside.

Sundays are for getting caught up on life and prepping for the week. Honestly, I spent most of Sunday feeling tired, overwhelmed and crabby. Just ask my kids. πŸ˜‰ I guess it’s just life right now and finding the balance of a new routine combined with the ongoing stress of the virus.

So…

I thought I’d keep today’s post quick and light-hearted with a few laughs (I know I need them!) from some memes I’ve seen recently.

1.

This one is so true! haha

2.

I nap almost every day. Even a quick ten minute nap sometimes makes me feel better.

3.

Or I start a fight, so I don’t have to assemble a desk. #Iknowmystrengths

4.

This one popped up in my Facebook memories from a few years ago. It’s a classic.

Facebook memory

5.

Whatever it takes… πŸ˜‰

6.

Yes. Accurate!

I hope you had a great weekend and have an even better week.

I’m ready for my second week “back to school” while prepping, returning emails, learning, and Zooming.

Take care,

July Monday Memes

Hi! How was your weekend? We actually just got back from visiting my family in KC. I hadn’t seen my Gma since Thanksgiving, my mom since early February, and my dad since mid-March (right before everything shut down). Anyway, this road trip was the best yet. I’m reminded that travelling does get easier as the kids get older.

That being said, it’s back to reality which means laundry, grocery pick up, appointments and more. So, I thought I’d keep this post short, sweet and funny….with some of my favorite memes that I’ve seen this month.

1.

This! I can’t wait for the day when things are back to β€œnormal.”

2.

This actually popped up as something I shared a few years ago on Facebook.

July is bringing the heat for sure…especially in KC. On Saturday, the heat index was 103! Thankfully, my mom’s friend let us swim in his pool for a couple of hours!

3.

One thing I have embraced during this time is realizing I don’t need to go to all the places all of the time.

4.

This could definitely count as a β€œmom meme.” πŸ˜‚Although, I’ve always been one to turn down my radio so I could think πŸ˜‚

5.

I don’t even like to jog in place during a workout. Feet need to stay on the ground!

6.

I’ve admitted I’m not much of a talker on the phone. This meme is definitely for me…but mostly for phone calls that are more business, not personal.

7.

Amazon for the win, y’all! πŸ˜‚

Hopefully, these memes provided a laugh or two.

Today is filled with unpacking, getting caught up on school emails, taking the kids for their yearly eye exams, & calling for an unexpected ortho appointment…Hayden’s appliance needs fixed I think.

I hope you have a great week.

June Monday Memes

Hello and Happy Monday! We had a pretty low key weekend with some very soggy and overcast weather. I did a few things around the house as well as did some laundry and got my grocery shopping for the week completed. Thankfully, that means my Monday “to do” list has a lot less things on it!

I couldn’t let the month of June wrap up without sharing some of my favorite memes that I’ve seen the past few weeks.

This first meme made me laugh. I’m definitely a texter vs. being a talker.

I do this so often that I’m afraid to admit it. Usually, I’m trying to remember two things at a time and then completely forget both!

2020. Am I right?

When this meme popped up as I was scrolling Facebook, and literally laughed out loud. Poor Travis πŸ˜‰

Since we are on month 4(ish) of being home pretty consistently, I did have to have a little sit down with the kids to remind them dishes go in the dishwasher rather than staying in the sink. I also told them to clean up one mess (hello, Hadley!) before starting another. Additionally, dirty underwear does not belong on the floor. And for the love of all things holy, please hang up your wet towel!

Speaking of kids…but really….There have been quite a few 10:00 (or later) bedtimes lately, and Hayden now knows to turn on my sound machine on his way to bed πŸ˜‰

My mom friend group text included this meme the other day. #truth

With still no answers about the start of the school year, I know my teacher friends can relate with these last two memes…

this…

and this…

I hope these memes provided a laugh or two!

Have a great week.

May Memes

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend full of remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and for our freedoms.

Homer was feeling festive yesterday ❀️

In Kentucky, we were able to start getting back to a bit of “normalcy” this weekend. Restaurants can open up to 33% capacity, non-essential businesses are opening, and small gatherings (while maintaining social distancing) are now allowed. We’re still easing into this phase, but it’s nice to see us moving in a forward direction. I certainly hope it’s not two steps forward, three steps back.

Usually I share memes on Mondays, but decided to take a little break yesterday. The end of the school year definitely still takes its toll on me even from a distance!

But here are a few memes that made me laugh this month!

Memes

I’m a high-maintenance sleeper. Sound machine, dark, cool room, a weighted blanket, and my favorite pillow. Travis doesn’t need “all the things” to sleep like I do! That being said, I can nap like nobody’s business.

I love this meme, and it is my truth! Let’s just say I don’t necessarily have a happy go lucky personality. I’m more matter of fact and sarcastic!

This meme always makes me laugh…and I’ve always felt this way about group texts. I mean I love group texts if they are for the whole group…but I will be the first to send a text to just one friend or family member if it doesn’t need go to everyone. Sometimes, group texts overwhelm me. I joke that Hadley doesn’t know texting etiquette just yet with her Ipod…she will hold you hostage in a group text for the rest of your life!

I do make a point to shower every day, but when the kids were little, sleep would definitely win over showering if need be!

Only a few more days of working from home!! #praisehands

Of course, I’ve seen this meme over the past several weeks, and I’m sure everyone else has too! Thankfully, 1 and 2 are opening back up…but obviously, I need to keep working on #3.

Right?! 2020 needs to come correct with a do-over.

Alright, one more math joke from the mom who struggles with math before distance learning wraps up tomorrow!

Just a few funnies for the month of May! I hope to keep up with my daily posting, but I may just have to take this week day by day! Have a great week!

April Monday Memes

Hello! How is it already Monday? How was your weekend? I think I feel like this weekend went fast because we were pretty busy. After wrapping up school on Friday, Travis and I started working on our master bedroom refresh…Wall pops wallpaper, fresh paint and some new bedding. Real Talk: he (and Hadley!) did the painting. I’m really good at overthinking which shade of gray comforter will best match the quilt I picked out for the bed! More details on that refresh later when it’s 100% complete.

I can’t believe we are five weeks (I think?!) into social distancing/staying at home/distance learning… Memes give me life while scrolling through social media as well as a chuckle or two. So…I thought I’d share some of my faves.

That being said, I upload funny memes to my post as the month goes on. I sat down yesterday to see what I’ve added to his post throughout this month…and, you guessed it….they are all social distancing/staying at home/distance learning themed.

I hope that’s ok. I guess in a few years, I will look back on this post, and it will be a time capsule of thoughts and feelings for April 2020.

Netflix: I’m almost halfway finished with season 3 of The Crown. That means in the past few weeks I’ve watched all of season 2 and started season 3. I’m getting used to the new cast. I really like the new (older) Philip. Travis and I also started watching The Stranger and the first two episodes intrigued me. Also, we finished Tiger King last week (and truly binge watched it–which is unlike us….finishing all the episodes in a matter of days). I have no words. Speechless. Up next, I’m know Travis is dying to watch Ozark season 3.

Any other Netflix suggestions? Let me know. πŸ™‚

Y’all, I thought Target was closed. You know back when they closed Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx (tear!), HomeGoods (sob!), etc…Well, I thought Target was closed too! For like a whole month…that’s what I thought…until I saw someone post about what they’d picked up at our local Target. Anyway, I’d been on the hunt for some new bedding (and a few other essentials from Target), so I did venture to Target on Saturday. I kept my (social) distance and thanks to Chip and Jo, I found what I needed and got out ASAP! I got my Target fix for now…but back to staying put at home.

Not only do I talk to myself (as well as walk into a room and not remember why…), I now tell myself inside jokes πŸ˜‰

We still haven’t heard if we will be returning to school this year or not. I’m afraid the writing is on the wall…so there may not be a car line of parents in May, but come August, people will be lined up in the dark at drop off!

I honestly was just starting to think about Mother’s Day and just the month of May, in general. Both my parents have May birthdays, so I was thinking about what I could buy online, etc…and then I saw this meme! Made me laugh.

I saw this on my friend Lauren’s Instagram stories, and I about spit my drink out with laughter! πŸ˜‚I’ve been on a few Zoom calls with school (and one with my friends this weekend!) and actually those Zoom calls haven’t been boring!

And, a final thought…on a more serious note… I’ve said it before, but now that we are settled in this routine, I know my family will look back on this time and treasure it. I know we don’t have it rough for one second. I’m a homebody, so it’s not a stretch for me to want to be at home anyway. (But…I can’t wait for the day when I don’t feel like I need to take a shower after running an errand!)…but again, we are safe and sound, have food in our fridge, technology to keep up with school and family, and most importantly have our health.

Honestly, my mind drifts to students who are home in an environment that is unstable with various stresses and worries. There are so many kids who want to be at school because those are the best seven hours in their day. It’s where they get a decent meal, where they have someone who encourages them and lifts them up, and where they can put their worries aside for a bit of time.

So…

I hope you have a great week. Week 3 of distance learning…Here. We. Come.

Take care,
