Hello and happy Monday!

How was your weekend? Mine was low key but productive….because Trav and the kids were in Orlando for my nephew’s race. They left on Thursday evening and got back last night.

What does one do with 72 hours to herself, you ask?! I had a good mix of downtime (massage, reading, Netflix) and productivity (work, errands, and helping my friend help me with the wallpaper for Hadley’s room).

It was really odd having the house to myself for three nights. Well, of course, Homer kept me company, but it was still too quiet!

Anyway, today is one of my favorite link ups, and I appreciate Tanya for hosting it every month.

This meme made me laugh…It’s very relatable!

My purchases this month include a couple of things for Hadley, an assortment of things for me, and one random purchase that Travis had.

Hadley:

If you have a teenage girl, you know their love for gold hoop earrings runs deep! As Hadley started to organize her new vanity, she wanted a place for her jewelry. She found this stackable jewelry container.

She’s put one of the trays to good use:

Hadley received UGG slippers and a couple of people suggested this protector spray. We’d like these slippers to last as long as possible…and, again, if you have a teen, you know they don’t just wear the slippers around the house!

Me:

In the winter, I don’t wear booties as often as I used to….I mostly where flats, and I have a favorite leopard pair from Walmart and another tan pair from Kohls that I wear the most. I’ve had them for years, and wanted a black pair to add into the mix. These have been great so far…nice and comfy. My regular size 9 fit, and they come in so many colors.

I bought these collagen eye gels, and I loved them. I’ve already used them all. I have an order of the ones I typically use on the way. You get more for your money with the gold ones, but I will definitely keep the marine collagen ones in the mix.

I don’t use a big wallet, so I wanted a place to hold my change and what little cash I typically have. When I searched for “coin purse,” this cute one popped up, and I couldn’t resist it. It’s around $7 and comes in soooo many cute pattern options.

I saw Amber Massey (@masseya) share these Jergen essential oil sticks, and I wanted to give them a try.

I use Awaken in the morning…

…and Sleep at night before bed.

I just enjoy the subtle scent that each one has, and it’s an easy part of my morning and evening routine to put a little on my wrists and neck.

I ordered more of my favorite Vitamin C serum.

I like to wear rings on my right hand, but don’t have a “go to” ring. I thought this stack was so cute…and they are. I mix and match and wear three at a time on my right hand ring finger.

I just wear them during the day….so I don’t workout, shower, or sweat in them, but they’ve been the perfect daytime ring…and for around $12, they definitely do the trick. (They come in gold and silver too)

Trav:

Travis needed a new shower head for his shower, and this is the one he ordered. Now, the water pressure in his bathroom is much better.

So…that’s what I “Primed” this month….something for everyone!…except Hayden who is pretty low maintenance these days. 😆

I hope you have a great start to your week,

Prime Purchases

Hello!

I’m linking up with Tanya for the first Prime Purchases of 2024!

(I’m posting this on Sunday because on Monday we have our first Share Our Lives link up of the year)

Well, this is a supersized post because I’m sharing many gift purchases I had. I did buy some in November and others in December but couldn’t share them just yet. I’m also sharing a few gifts I received and already love.

Gifts Given:

I always think of hand warmers for Travis as a gift because he works outside quite a bit in January with a horse sale. I bought him these rechargeable ones for Christmas.

I also bought Travis this trunk organizer. He has a really big trunk, and he always has lots of stuff, so I thought this would help keep things organized.

Travis asked for a hand held vacuum, and this is the one I got him. It comes in a variety of colors.

This gift was one of the last ones I purchased. I saw Trav’s work gloves on the front porch, and they’d seen better days. I thought he could use a new pair.

Hadley received this makeup organizer for her new vanity/desk.

Hayden loves scrambled eggs, and my mom always microwaves one in a cup when she visits. I thought they both might like this “Chef Buddy” for cooking eggs.

Gifts Received:

It was time for a new hand mixer, so I asked for this one. I love the color and the fact that there is storage for the beaters.

I already shared about this tray last week, but I like to keep Amazon things in one post. I asked for this tray for our couch. One end of the couch doesn’t have a side table, so I thought this would be perfect, and it is.

I’m now realizing that I think I threw away the little phone/ipad holder that clips on the end. It must have been in the box.

I had some favorite juice glasses from Pier One that we received as a wedding gift. Well, almost 18 years later and the set we had was down to only a couple of glasses left.

I love these “vintage” looking ones I received.

I want to get back in the habit of making a few hard boiled eggs each week. I’d seen this rapid egg cooker, so I asked for it for Christmas too. I made a few eggs earlier in the week…in only 10 minutes!

Stocking Stuffers:

I was at a craft fair in KC over Thanksgiving, and picked up a couple of shower steamers. Well, I loved them so much that I thought I’d put a couple in everyone’s stockings, so I ordered this pack.

Hadley was talking with her friends about the gifts they’d received, and she said many of them got shower steamers. They must be all the rage. haha

I really love these too, and they’ve been refreshing and relaxing for my showers lately when I haven’t felt well.

One family member needed more sneaker balls.

I bought Hayden these Dude Wipes last year, so I thought they’d be a great stocking stuffer again.

For Trav’s family’s “Dirty Santa” exchange, I picked up these nuggets sauce trays that clip on your car vents. (and I threw in a Chick-fil-A gift card too!)

Clothes:

While this skirt was an impulse buy, I really love it.

I had some black boots I’d never worn, and I thought a leather skirt would be fun.

I shared this double zip sweater on Friday, and I love it (and the under $20 price!)

I think it’s easy to dress up or down.

Health:

I’d gotten out of the habit, but I’m starting the year off getting back on track with a scoop of this collagen powder in my coffee.

January definitely tends to be a lighter shopping month, but I’m sure I will have some things to share in February.

Have a great day!

Prime Purchases

Hello and happy Monday!

How was your weekend? We had a “divide and conquer” kind of weekend.

Travis and Hayden went to Tallahassee, Florida for the AAU Cross Country National race, and it poured down rain the entire time they were there. Meanwhile, Hadley and I were in Lex for a pretty low key weekend that included her science project and the Taylor Swift concert movie.

Hayden had an awesome race, and I hate that I missed it. The pics and videos Travis sent me were unreal. It looked like Hayden was in a “tough mudder” competition. That being said, Travis and Hayden had fun despite the weather.

Anyway, on to today’s business…

It’s the first Monday of the month, so I’m linking up with Tanya for Prime Purchases...the last one of 2023!

Here are my purchases for the month…(actually, I purchased a few more things, but I don’t want spoil any gift giving!)

Hayden needed new water bottles, and actually asked for these Gatorade ones for his birthday. He’s hard to buy for, and water bottles are boring, but I put these in a bag with a few other things he needed. We’ve used these these water bottles a lot through the years.

I wanted a new black sweatshirt that is a little nicer than just a sweatshirt. Anyway, this 1/4 zip is great to wear with jeans or leggings.

I have this same sweater in blue, and wanted a green one for the Christmas season. It’s an easy slouchy fit…

and I’ve already worn it quite a few times.

I shared this hair straightener in the kids’ birthday post, and it is legit. Hadley asked for a new straightener because they one she’s used the past few years was a hand me down from a friend and it wasn’t working properly.

Anyway, what caught my attention about this one is that it straightens and has the indention to curl hair. I’ve used it to curl my hair a couple of times, and it’s so good.

I bought these pore strips for the kids’ stockings just as a fun way to help with skincare.

Hadley needed a few new sports bras, and this pack worked well.

Stocking Stuffers…

Did you catch my Let’s Look post with Shay and Erika last month? We all shared stocking stuffer ideas.

A few gift ideas…

As we inch closer to the Christmas season, I thought I’d share a few favorite Amazon items that I’ve purchased in the past year (or given or been given as gifts)

A few of my faves:

I purchased a pack of flameless candles last January, and they sure came in clutch when we lost power for five days in February. Besides being our main source of light, most of them are a part of my regular home decor now.

The pack I bought doesn’t seem to be available, but there are many other options including this pack.

My Gma gave me these boots for my birthday this year, and I love them. I wore them most of this weekend too.

I love these slippers…

I use this candle warmer in my classroom, and it’s perfect.

Gifts we’ve given and currently love:

This microwave popcorn popper is so fun and comes in a few colors. Hadley loves using it for an afternoon snack. (It comes in “snack size” too)

We have this electric tea kettle, and gave one to my mom as well.

My Gma requested this heated neck/shoulder wrap last year, and then I also gifted it to my dad for his birthday. He loves this thing…

You know I love my Kindle, and my mom and Gma do too.

Hadley:

One of Hadley’s favorite gifts that she received is this straightening/styling hairbrush. It’s perfect for bringing your hair back to life and giving a bit of volume.

Hayden:

Hayden uses this mini massage gun often (and Trav does too!)

Trav:

I gave this collapsible utility wagon to Trav a couple of years ago, and I don’t know how we made it through all the baseball years without one. He uses it all the time for cross country. It would also be perfect for the beach, a picnic, or any other time you have to cart quite a few things around!

This is the first Christmas season in quite some time that I feel pretty good about my shopping list and all that I’ve already accomplished.

I hope this post helps give you a few ideas if you are looking for some.

Let’s Look

Hello!

I hope you are having a great week. The day off yesterday was just what I needed to have a bit of downtime mixed in with productivity. Now we’re on the downhill slide to the weekend.

I had to double check my calendar. I can’t believe it’s the second Wednesday of the month! That means I’m linking up with Shay and Erika for Lets Look.

So far this year, we’ve looked at:

  • Scheduling/organizing a busy family in January
  • What’s in your medicine cabinet in February
  • Favorite Amazon finds in March
  • I skipped April because we had pet peeves as a topic for May’s Not Just a Mom post, so I saved those ideas for that post.
  • Around May’s link up, I shared a “Day in the Life” post, so that ended up including most of my morning routine.
  • Best travel tips in June
  • No post for me in July.
  • In August, I discussed worst habits in a blog challenge post.
  • Our evening routine in September
  • I skipped October because I’d already shared a post about fears for the blog challenge.

This month we are looking atstocking stuffers.

Tis the season, y’all!

I looked back at my Amazon history, and today I’m sharing a few favorite stocking stuffers.

I know it seems random but this tissue box cover “elevates” an eyesore on the counter. There are a variety of colors, and it’s less than $8! I have this “pastel gray” one and have gifted it to others as well.

I stuck this razor kit in Hayden’s stocking last year. While he doesn’t need it often ☺️, it has definitely come in handy.

This heatless curl set is Hadley approved. It comes in a few different designs…including “candy cane!”

Both Travis and Hayden have these stocking caps with a light for running. It’s the perfect gift for a runner during the winter months.

I hate to exaggerate, but this ground meat chopper is a game changer for cooking! I use it every time I cook ground meat.

I have this watch band, and I love the scallop detail. It comes in so many cute colors; maybe I should grab another one.

These rose gold earrings are my favorite, and I wear them almost every single day. They are less than $10, and have a $1 off coupon.

These socks are fun for any gamer or teen in your life. For only $6, they’d be a perfect stocking gift. I got them for Hayden a couple of years ago.

Bananagrams is a fun game for all ages. It’s the perfect size to take for family fun when you travel.

I’ve shared these portable chargers before, and they’ve worked great for us through the years. They got us through the five day power outage last spring. I have my eye on this one because it’s slimmer, and we could use one or two more.

Honestly, stockings have always been my favorite part of Christmas morning.

Happy shopping!

Hello and happy Monday!

Y’all, I forgot all about Daylight Saving Time until Friday when I read a couple of other blog posts! Then, I forgot all about it again until Saturday night…when I went ahead and set the clocks back.

I know it’s an annoying adjustment, but I definitely appreciated the extra hour yesterday.

As I always do on the first Monday of the month, I’m linking up with Tanya to share my Amazon purchases.

This month was pretty much all about me. Whoops. That being said, a few purchases were from late September, but I wanted to wear them before sharing.

Here are my purchases from the month:

Before our fall break trip, I picked up this cover up and swimsuit. I haven’t bought a new swimsuit in a couple of summers, and I can pretty much say the same thing about swim cover ups too.

Anyway, I thought this one would be a good option because I knew we might be going from beach to restaurants occasionally, and this one is even styled as a dress on Amazon.

Anyway, I really like it, and it comes in a variety of colors.

I have shared this swimsuit time and time again, but this swimsuit is a new fave for sure. I realize it’s fall right now, and you might not be going anywhere warm, but if you are, this one shoulder suit is legit.

It comes in a variety of colors and patterns, and I just bet I will share it with you all again this summer.

The thing about me and athleisure is that I tend to keep most leggings and tanks for quite a while. I did go through my athleisure drawer recently, and got rid of a few pieces.

I was trying to find another 7/8 length pair of leggings, and these are it. The fabric is soft, they hold you in, and they have the side pocket which I prefer. These are a new fave for sure.

I shared these in a previous post, but wanted to include them again in my monthly Amazon post.

These are definitely more of a yoga style with softer, thinner fabric. That being said, I’ve used them for low-impact workouts and just casual wear, and I don’t regret this purchase. The price is great too!

What caught my eye is side slit which I thought was a fun detail.

Real talk – I was influenced by Jen Reed when she shared this purse. What I like about this purse is that it is nice, sturdy, cute, and a crossbody. There are times, like when I go to Keeneland, that I take a clutch purse, but I wanted a nicer crossbody, so I’m not holding my purse the entire time.

This purse is on the smaller side, but it held what I needed it to hold for the day. It also comes with a longer adjustable strap too, but I used the shorter one that came attached to it.

Lastly, I’ve been using this magnetic meal planning pad to keep on the fridge, and needed to order another one after using it for a year. It’s the perfect size to write our activities and what we are having for dinner as well as using the right hand side for my grocery list.

So those are my purchases for the month. It’s hard to believe that November purchases might include birthday gifts for a couple of fourteen year olds as well as some possible early Christmas gifts.

Prime Purchases

Hello and happy Monday…and happy October!

I’m linking up with Tanya today to share my Amazon purchases for the month.

I had a few clothing purchases this month, but a few other odds and ends too.

Oops…I did it again!

I purchased this cardigan in black. I now have it in three colors. I did replace a black cardigan that I’ve had for probably ten years with this one. My previous one was showing its age, and didn’t have pockets. I need pockets, especially when I wear cardigans to school.

Also, I picked up this over-sized shirt (again!), and I now have it in three colors. It works with leggings, jeans, as a sleep shirt, or wear under a cardigan, etc….so that’s why I love it so much. It’s versatile.

Ok…these next two waffle sets have been all over the internet, and I wanted to give both a try. I did wait to purchase both until they were on sale and had a coupon. I’ve seen others share these as lounge wear and/or pjs.

So far, I’ve used this set as pjs….

…and this set as more loungewear (meaning — I will leave the house to run errands in it). I’m sure it doesn’t matter either way, but I have been wearing them as such.

Both feel “high end” and are comfy and cute. I did size up one in both just in case they shrunk with washing. I haven’t washed either, but I’m glad I sized up one size.

I needed another bottle of my daytime Vitamin C serum, so I ordered it again. I’ve been using this brand for probably close to a year.

We needed a new kitchen faucet, and Travis ordered this one. I think he liked that it had the sensor, but I turned the sensor off because I like to pull the hose over to fill up our Keurig/coffee pot…haha. Anyway, it’s been a good upgrade from what we had.

My dad wanted a knife sharpening set, so he asked me to send him this one. He gives it two thumbs up!

What’s your best Amazon purchase this month?

WIWW

Hello!

A couple of weeks ago, I enjoyed sharing the outfits I’d been wearing recently, so I’m trying to remember to snap a pic when I can.

The outfits I’m sharing today are a mix of school and weekend.

We went to Nashville for a birthday party a couple of weeks ago, and I snagged this dress from Amazon. It was an impulse buy, but I really like it. It comes in a variety of colors, and it has pockets!

This outfit is brought to you by Amazon…and really –they are Amazon purchases from quite a while ago. I know I’ve had the dress, cardigan, and sandals for at least two years.

This outfit includes same cardigan, different color. Same sandals as above as well. I picked up this floral dress at Walmart last spring.

I always get so many compliments when I wear this floral Old Navy dress. I remember when I bought it, I was on the fence about it, but I’m glad I kept it. I did cut the tassels off because I hate tassels.

I always joke that I feel like I’m going to a fiesta when I wear it, but it’s a great dress for school. I’m wearing my favorite Amazon sandals from last summer, but they aren’t in stock anymore.

Friday, I wore these jeans to school and then changed out of my school t-shirt and put on my favorite Amazon cap sleeve sweater to go to the UK volleyball game.

For Hayden’s cross country meet, I wore my one of my pairs of Fabletics leggings, my SSYS workout tank, and New Balance tennis shoes.

I wore this outfit to school last Wednesday. The top is SSYS, and I’ve had my white denim jeans forever.

I wore this outfit to school yesterday. Amazon joggers and sandals and a denim shirt that I got at Target a few years ago.

Looking back at these outfits, I did a good job shopping my closet. The only new item is the first dress. Also, for me, “sandal season” lasts through September. I’m always bummed when I have to put away all my cute sandals!

Thanks for reading!

Prime Purchases

Hello and happy Monday!

Today is Labor Day, but it’s also Prime Purchases day with Tanya. I’m linking up with her to share what I bought this month.

I had a pretty light Amazon shopping month…

This dress is super cute and comfy.

I wore it to school and got lots of compliments. Bonus — it has pockets!

I needed a new keyboard for my school computer and bought this wireless pink keyboard/mouse combo.

It’s the perfect fit for my desk.

Up until last week, I had a desktop computer and two monitors. I was having some connectivity issues, so I ended up with a new chromebook and monitor. I like my new set up.

I shared about this candle warmer lamp in a Friday Favorites post, and it’s still a favorite.

I’ve used it with both single and three wick candles, and it warms them up just enough to to make my classroom smell so good.

The lamp height is adjustable and has three settings for the light.

I can’t wait to buy some fall candles to mix into the rotation.

Hadley wants to take her lunch occasionally this year. She hasn’t used a lunchbox in a couple of years, so she picked out this new one. It’s been working for her so far.

Random story, but I had a SSYS dress in mind for the Nashville birthday party we went to last weekend and when it went on sale, I bought it…but had it shipped to my mom’s house by accident.

Of course, I have quite a few dresses, but most felt liked they’d either be “too nice” or are more for what I wear to school.

So, admittedly, this dress was in impulse buy…but I love it.

It’s light-weight, classic, and I love a collar on a dress.

I wore the wedges I got earlier in the summer from Old Navy.

We were too rushed to get to the party for me to take a pic, so I re-created the outfit and snapped this pic after a hectic day at school last week… haha…

At the party, a friend asked me if my dress was from Amazon…because she has it in purple which is her daughter’s school color. She’d worn it to the school football game the night before. It does come in so many colors!

So, that’s it for my recent Amazon purchases. What have you “primed” lately?

Friday favorites {#172}

Hello and happy Friday!

TGIF! This week has felt extra busy which made it go by pretty quickly. I think this is our last really hot day for now, and I never thought I’d be so excited about low 80’s degree days, but that’s on our horizon.

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are a few favorites from the week.

Favorite photo(s):

Our friend shared some of they professional photos from our fun evening a couple of weeks ago celebrating at Hadley’s friend’s bat mitzvah.

I loved this one…

…and this one with some of my favorite people

Favorite moment:

Seeing Hayden back on the race course this past weekend was fun.

…and I can’t wait to watch all the runners this season. Coach White and his crew kick off the cross country season this weekend.

Favorite food:

Quick and easy dinners were the way to go this week! I made this Cheesy Fajita Baked Chicken again, and it’s officially a family favorite. Like last time, I used peppers from our garden which was an added bonus.

Clothing item:

Did you catch my post on Wednesday? I’ve had lots of favorite outfits lately.

Favorite Amazon find:

I always wish I could burn a candle in my classroom, and I decided to try this Candle Warmer Lamp. I was sooo pleasantly surprised that it worked!

This week, I tested out a single wick candle as well as a three wick candle, and they both worked! The lamp helps warm the candle and it’s a subtle scent. You touch the shade, and it’s dimmable. There are three settings, and I’ve kept the light brightness on the second one. Anyway, I’ve looked forward to turning this on as soon as I get to my classroom every day this week.

Favorite Kid Quote:

Last Saturday evening, when we arrived at Hayden’s race, Travis and Hayden wanted to get out of the car in order to get his racing bib and get settled. So, they hopped out of the car, and I said to Hadley that they didn’t even say goodbye.

She said, “Cross country season…live, laugh, love.” 😆

Favorite Mom Meme:

This sure is the truth!

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday

In honor of cross country season starting, I love this throw back to the kids’ 5th grade year when Hayden placed 1st and Hadley placed 4th at their end of season county race. Who knew we’d have so many races in our future?!

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts from this week!

I hope you have a great weekend!

Prime Purchases

Hello and happy Monday!

Well, we’re back from California which also included an 8 1/2 hour car ride yesterday from KC. I drove the kids there last weekend, stayed a few days, met Travis in California, then flew back to KC Saturday night and drove to Lex yesterday. To say I wish I could have slept in this morning might be the understatement of the century…haha

but…

Today, I officially head back to school. Our students don’t start until next Wednesday, but they added all of our professional development days to the beginning of the year rather than sprinkling them throughout the year (or letting us get our own PD in the summer…not really “best practice,” but what do I know? Can you tell I’m bitter?)

Anyway, since it’s the first Monday of the month, Tanya is hosting her Prime Purchases link up!

I did have quite a few purchases, so here we go…

Clothes:

I hadn’t really purchased many clothes this summer from Amazon, but did buy a few things over the past few weeks that I’ve been wearing quite a bit.

  • I’ve shared this romper already a time or two when it was worth mentioning in other posts, but I haven’t shared it in a Prime post yet. Actually, I bought this romper mid-June, but I wanted to wear it a few times before sharing. Like I said before, I don’t know if it’s the most flattering (on me), but it’s comfy, and I like the pink color with my tan.
  • This three pack of biker shorts were something I wanted to try. Now, I’ve yet to leave the house in these biker shorts, but I’ve used them for at home Pilates workouts, lounging and even pjs with a t-shirt. I really like them.
  • This cap sleeve sweater is one of my favorite purchases this summer. It’s lightweight, comfy and cute. Truly, I love this sweater. I wore it twice in Florida and twice in California…not that you have to go on vacay to wear it, but I was so glad I packed it. I know I will wear it to school too.
  • This tiered tank is perfect for summer nights paired with white denim.
  • I have this t-shirt in two colors. I knew it was oversized, so I bought it in medium, and it’s perfect. Then I thought it would be good with the biker shorts in a size large, and it does provide enough coverage. So, I have this t-shirt in purple and the rose color.

Books:

  • Like I said in my What I’ve Been Reading post last week, I purchased The Five-Star Weekend because the library waitlist was long. I read it in 24 hours while in Cali. IT was SO good.
  • I picked up this word search book to do on the plane because sometimes, if I feel anxious on the plane, I can’t concentrate to read. I did quite a few of these on the plane, in the airport, or just lounging around in the morning. I love a word search.

Health:

  • Like I shared in my “What’s in my shower” post last week, I’ve been buying this Selsun Blue for Hayden. He doesn’t have itchy scalp, but I guess it can be good for skincare too. Again, he doesn’t use it as a face wash…just when he washes his hair, and it trickles down his face, there are skincare benefits (and he’s getting his hair washed!)
  • I’ve been putting a scoop of electrolyte powder in my Stanley cup for my workouts, and I really like this orange pineapple flavor.

Prime Day:

I had a few Prime Day purchases…

  • I bought this little portable speaker for Hadley because she’s always looking for Trav’s. It didn’t arrive before our trip to Florida, so I think I’m going to save it for her birthday.
  • I needed more of my collagen powder, and the Vital Proteins that I always buy was on sale.
  • I’m loving my Stanley cup and wanted extra straws. These were on sale that day too.

So, what have you been Priming lately?

Also, I want to say thank you for the blogiversary love on Friday…I really appreciate the comments and will choose a winner soon. I hope to post pretty regularly this week, but I will just have to take it day by day…re-entry is rough!

I hope you have a great Monday.
