Shop Style Your Senses

Hello and happy July 2nd!

How is the week treating you? I hope all is well. I’m excited for today’s post…that was supposed to post yesterday, but I set it for PM by accident! Welcome to my brain…

I like to share clothes that I love, and it’s no secret that I love the online boutique Shop Style Your Senses.

I’ve been following Mallory and her team since the beginning…when it was just Mallory shipping items from her closet! Well, her business grew, and she has a wonderful team, an office, and a ware house full of wonderful clothing items.

As the years have gone on, they’ve created their own label pieces. These styles have been such a success that she hopes to move to only SSYS label pieces by fall. That’s mind blowing.

I’ve shared so many SSYS outfits in my posts through the years from athleisure to dresses to swim cover ups to sets and more.

I exclusively wear SSYS for my workouts, I wear so many pieces to school, I love the swim cover up, and when I pack a suitcase, I bet 75% of it is SSYS at this point.

One thing I really appreciate their label pieces that they’ve designed is that I feel like they understand women’s sizing. Recently, I’ve been on the hunt for a couple of dresses to wear to a wedding and have struck out in local boutiques. I’m a size large in SSYS label pieces, but when I try on a large in a boutique, often times, dresses don’t fit…mostly they will be tight in my chest area. On top of that, most boutiques don’t even have sizes larger than size large. It blows my mind that when these boutiques go to market, they don’t purchase or find items that will fit all shapes and sizes.

With SSYS, they do lots of try ons on the app, via lives try ons and on Instagram (@shopssys) and show various body types/sizing which I appreciate. You get to know the ladies trying on the clothes and can see how they fit on various women. I’m a tried and true size large for them. Some of their flowy tops, I could probably be a medium, but overall, I don’t mess around with the sizing. I feel good in their clothes and that’s what matters to me.

They are currently running a Share More, Earn More event this month which caught my eye.

If you’ve never ordered from SSYS, now is the time. I’ve never tried to be a major influencer…this blog is for fun, but I think it’s so neat that I have the opportunity to share about a shop that I love, you get 25% off your first purchase using their app, and I can earn $20 for future purchases. It’s a win win for all.

I believe this is my link for your 25% off your first purchase or use the code: “HBHNTREF”

A few of my faves are the Gemma dress (I have in blue and black) and the Gwen. I bought one two summers ago and purchased another one this summer.

I have to Everyday Dress in black and pink.

I don’t think it’s in stock now, but..

the Lainey is this season’s iteration. I didn’t purchase only because I have two of the Everyday Dresses.

I own last season’s Taylor…

This season, they added the cute little ruffle detail!

Anything in their “air” fabric is amazing…and especially perfect in the summer. The fabric seems to have a cooling quality about it.

Any of the “tent tops” are my fave. In the past couple of years, I’ve ordered the black and light pink short sleeve shirts. This season, they have the short sleeve version, and I now own two of those.

The Get Ready Robe is very popular. I don’t have one yet, but I’m always tempted. It would be an easy item to start with based on sizing.

One note is that if you do return what you order, you do receive store credit and not a refund to your original form of payment. I know that can be a deterrent for some, but it’s rare that I return anything from the shop…and of course, I know there’s always an order in my future if/when I do return something.

You won’t be disappointed if you decide to purchase! Bonus: their shipping is always free. They also have $10 expedited shipping.

Oh –and one more thing — once you order from the app, I assume you’ll have a referral code too. I’m not special …haha…this is a “Thank you” from SSYS to their customers, I think…so the more the merrier sharing their codes!

Let me know if you have any questions.

I’d love to know what you order. Happy shopping!

Friday Favorites {#154}

Hello and happy Friday!

I’m really feeling the TGIF energy today. This week has been a good one but filled with lots of extras. Every day this week had at least one extra appointment on top of the usual evening activities, so I just kept feeling like I didn’t want to forget something!

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week…

Favorite Picture:

Well, I have to start with the absolute best news…look at Hayden’s new smile!!

No more braces! Also, why was I more excited for this milestone than he was? After over 2.5 years, the braces are off!

Both kids had “phase 1” braces in second grade. They had them put on in January 2018, and had them for less than a year.

For Hayden, “phase 2” started in July of 2020 with a Herbst appliance. A few months later he got the braces, and the appliance was taken out in July 2021. Then, he continued with braces until this week.

It’s crazy to see how much older he looks too!

Favorite Clothes:

I wore a new dress from SSYS to Keeneland on Saturday. I want to buy it in another color, but I think they are creating a sleeveless version for the summer, so I will hold off for now. I love lavender, and just couldn’t say no.

**Also, I was inspired by Amy and visited Sun Tan City for a spray tan last week. I hadn’t been there in years, but I was so happy with the results.

(A week later, and I still have a bit of color!)

SSYS also has the cutest athleisure pieces, and this quilted top has been perfect to throw on over my workout tank and leggings. I’ve already worn this one three times in a week. I think they have some cute new pieces dropping this weekend.

Other faves from the week:

On Monday, the kids had their yearly checkups, and they always ask for ice cream afterwards. Parenting teens is a tough job, so I deserved ice cream too.

Last week, Travis came home from Kroger with these flowers, and said they were free. They still hadn’t bloomed after a few days, and I told him that I thought that’s why they must have been free. 😆

Well, they finally did start to bloom, but I don’t think a couple of them ever will. They are pretty and freshen up the living room.

At the first track meet of the season, Hayden hurt himself doing the long jump, so he’s had to sit out the last couple of meets.

Hayden is the distance runner, and Hadley is more mid/shorter distances. She loves the 200m, and also runs the 800, 400, and some relays. In the off season, she started training, and it’s been so amazing to see that translate to her races. In the 200, she came in 2nd out of 100 runners and is close to qualifying for state. She’s also on some relays which are fun to watch too.

I can’t wait for Hayden to get back out there.

4×200 relay

Kind of random, but I have a new favorite podcast. I loved the show Hey Dude! on Nickelodeon in the 90’s. Christine Taylor and David Lascher talk about the show, but also have a 90’s guest on each week. I’ve listened to their interviews with the Hey Dude cast, Ben Stiller (Christine’s real life husband), Scott Wolf, Melissa Joan Hart, and a few others.

It’s a fun listen!

Favorite Mom Meme:

Real talk:

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday

Because I love the toothless phase so much, I have to share this one of Hayden.

*He actually had two loose top teeth and thanks to a play at first base where he crashed into the 1st baseman, he lost one and the other was super loose. The next morning, he woke up with the other tooth gone…we found it in his bed!

Truly, the toothless phase was my absolute favorite with both kids.

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts from the week:

What are your weekend plans? The kids are running in a track meet tonight, and I’m hoping it’s not a torrential rain the entire time. The rest of the weekend, we actually don’t have much going on. I feel like we all need a bit of downtime to recover from this non-stop week.

See you back here Monday!

WIWW

Hello and happy Wednesday. All day yesterday, I kept thinking it was Monday…it sure felt like a Monday. So, I’m happy that we are to the mid-point of the week already.

I’ve shared Shop Style Your Senses in previous posts, but I have a few new purchases to share with you today.

I’ve followed Mallory (@styleyoursenses) on Instagram for years. She has/had a blog and would share her home and links to clothes. About four years ago, she started her Shop Style Your Senses business working out of her house. With the business taking off, she’s added to her team and even moved into a warehouse.

They have a website and an app, and I use the app to save favorites, follow them when they do live sessions and hear them talk about the products.

Since I’ve been pleased with the products, I thought I’d go ahead and put everything in a post.

A few purchases:

I bought this lightweight sweatshirt dress in the fall, and it was perfect to wear then. Now, it’s perfect to wear with leggings or tall boots.

This dress is my FAVE purchase. The fit is perfect for me, and the material is so good. While it’s sold out in black, it also comes in a “wine” color. Recently, they had a flash sale with 50% off anything, and I snagged this dress in the wine color too. I know it will be perfect for Valentine’s Day or for Christmas parties next year. Also, I’ve worn this dress to school with tall boots and felt very put together.

Recently, I ordered this hi low sweatshirt dress, and I love it.

I wore it to school yesterday with leggings and my leopard flats. I could (and will) also wear this with athletic leggings and sneaks, I’m sure. Also, in the spring months, I know I will wear it as a dress with sandals.

I did get the size large. I probably could have done a medium but then I wasn’t sure if it would be long enough for leggings which is how I knew I’d wear it.

I purchased this purple knit top (sweater) right before Christmas. It’s lightweight and perfect to wear with jeans or leggings. Besides purple, it comes in a light pink and mint color as well.

I did order size medium because I’ve come to learn that if they say “oversized fit,” I can probably do a medium in a top.

I just ordered this muslin baby doll dress in purple and can’t wait for it to arrive. I snagged it on Sunday night when Mallory did a live try on and shared many of their new spring/summer items. It comes in a variety of colors, and I do think Mallory said she’d be able to restock most, if not all, of the colors soon.

She also said when she purchased these dresses, she thought most would wear as swimsuit coverups, but once the ladies started trying them on, they realized it makes the perfect summer dress. While I almost ordered the medium, I went with large since that’s what I typically wear in their dresses.

A few other things…

Since Mallory started this shop, she’s really listened to her customers. Like I said, the app is amazing. Also, they do a good job with sharing about sizing. I appreciate that they show their clothes on various body types.

They’ve even started designing their own lines of clothing with the SSYS label.

For now, they only ship once a week, but with that comes free shipping.

The only thing that I wish they’d think about is returns. If you return an item, you only get store credit. I’ve only returned one item due to sizing, and the refund did go directly to my account, and I could see it in the app. At least then I knew they money was there, and I wouldn’t forget about it.

I’ve never ordered pants or shorts but Mallory shared some denim shorts on Sunday’s live that look so cute. I’m just not ready for too much spring and summer just yet.

Anyway, just like Avara and Red Dress Boutique, I’ve had really good luck with purchases from these boutiques. I think it’s fun to share “smaller” shops when we find them.
