Thursday Thoughts

Hello and happy Thursday! Well, where has this week gone? I had every intention of blogging Tuesday and Wednesday, but the week has just gotten away from me.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared an Enneagram post, but I’m doing so today.

As a matter of fact, I’d saved these @mirabellecreations graphics at the start of the new year, but never finished the post until now.

My type A personality likes to be organized…I feel so much better when I’ve written things down on my calendar, made appointments, sent emails, tidied up and more.

I’m a Enneagram 5w6, and these two graphics definitely ring true as ways to organize my life.

Type 5:

  • Create daily and weekly routines: Yes. Say less. I thrive on routines.
  • Set clear work and rest boundaries with defined start and and stop times. Well, when you’re a teacher, your whole day is dictated by a bell telling you when your day and classes start and end. While there are lots of teachers who subscribe to the “I don’t work outside my contract hours,” that’s never worked for me. That being said, what’s also rarely worked for me is bringing work home. My school ends at 3:15, and we are required to stay until 3:25. Obviously, I’m in the phase of life where I often have to get to a kid’s activity, but I usually do have 20-30 minutes when I can stay after school…and I do. Anyway, my point is, I know that sometimes even staying until 4:00 allows me time to get caught up or set myself up for success the next day. Probably an unpopular opinion, but I often like to stay at school on Fridays for a bit to wrap up the week and prepare for the week ahead. I figure the weekend starts as soon as the bell rings…I might as well have some quiet time to get caught up and prepare.
  • Organize notes and information you actively use: Yes. I have notes on my phone with daily “to do” lists along with other lists. I always write in my school planner in pencil, so that I can erase/move plans to other days. I have a sticky note on my desk with my school “to do” for the day and I always update it and cross things off. Then, at the end of the day, I write a new sticky note for the next day.
  • Schedule recharge time: Well, as you know, I start the day with quiet time. Then, if possible, I give myself 20-30 minutes to decompress once I get home. I often set a timer, so that I give myself some time, but I don’t get too far off track.
  • Let systems help you with the world more confidently: Systems and routine are the key for me feeling like I can accomplish my tasks but also have time for myself.

Type 6:

  • Build calm morning and evening routines that you can rely on: Of course this applies to me. I need 45 minutes in the morning to start my day, and I always need to unwind when I get home. Plus, I like to squeeze in a workout or walk most days as well as find time to read or blog.
  • Create short “what matters today” list to reduce overwhelm: This for sure applies to me. Just like I keep the sticky note on my desk, the note of my phone is helpful. I have a weekly note with appointments, kids’ activities, errands, etc…and it helps me space things out but also see all that’s going on….so then I’m not overwhelmed.
  • Use reminders and planners and reassurance, not pressure: My planner, calendar, and reminders just help me feel like I have a handle on things which I appreciate. Sometimes, if I need a reminder for something “out of the norm,” I set an alarm or calendar reminder to help me out.
  • Practice trusting plans once they’re written down: Well, I don’t know about this one…I write my lesson plans in pencil. haha
  • Let organization bring clarity instead of more questions: Organization always provides me clarity! I feel frazzled and unfocused when things aren’t organized.

Do any of these apply to you?!

Have a great Thursday!

Prime Purchases

Hello and happy Monday!

How was your weekend? We were still busy, but the kids didn’t have any games, so at least we weren’t setting any early alarms. The weather was beautiful this weekend, and it truly felt like spring.

Did you catch my weekend posts? I had a Share 4 Somethings post on Saturday and then a Hello, March one on Sunday.

Today, I’m sharing my February Amazon purchases.

As I shared in Saturday’s post, my first two purchases are some of my fave new things.

I needed new erasers for my dry erase board at school and stumbled upon these magnetic ones! They are legit! They erase the dry erase marker easily and really stick to the board.

Screenshot

Shay shared this silicone mat that also has a pouch for packing your hair tools. I’ve used it twice now, and it’s perfect for packing, but then also for setting my curling iron on while doing my hair in the hotel bathroom. It comes in lots of fun colors, and would be perfect for a teen’s Easter basket.

Screenshot

So, over break, I cleaned out my closet and got rid of quite a few t-shirts. One thing I’m lacking is casual long sleeve t-shirts, and this one has been the perfect addition to my closet. When I ordered it, I wasn’t sure if I’d wear it with leggings or not. While I can, I do think it will be more of a shirt I wear with jeans, pants, or shorts. I love the slouchy fit, the side slits, and the price! It comes in lots of colorways. Just this weekend, I wore it with my cheetah barrel jeans, and it was perfect.

Speaking of t-shirts, I have this one in light purple, and I was missing a navy t-shirt from my rotation. So, I just ordered it again in navy. It’s the perfect shirt to sleep in, wear with leggings, front tuck, etc.

Speaking of shirts, Hayden needed a blue compression shirt, so I ordered him this one. It’s just what he needed.

I’ve mentioned before that I asked for two of these Sherpa blankets (in beige) to replace the blankets we have on our living room ottomans. Well, Hadley keeps taking one to use for herself, so I ordered her a white one as one of her Valentine’s Day presents. This blanket comes in a variety of sizes and colors, but we have the 50×60 ones, and they are perfect throws.

…and speaking of blankets…when we redid Hadley’s room two years ago, I got her a quilt from Home Goods to go under her comforter. It held up ok, but it’s been pilling more and more, so I used a gift card to order her this coverlet, and I’m pleased with it. It’s lightweight, so soft, and I ordered it because I liked the ruffle detail. It’s just what she needs for an updated quilt for under her comforter. She loves layers of bedding!

I’ve seen people share the Medicube brand, so I wanted to try an overnight collagen mask. I’ve used this a few times and gotten the hang of it with each time. In the morning, you peel off the mask, so I’ve found putting a thicker layer of product on helps the peel off go easier. My skin really has had a nice glow to it after using it.

What have you “Primed” lately?

Hello, March

Hello and happy Sunday! …and Hello, happy March! It’s hard to believe we’re already in the third month of the year, but I’m thankful for a new month with the promise of sunshine, green grass and blooming flowers.

@murphys_sketches always shares these fun graphics start the month; you should check her sketches out.

Here are a few March reminders:

…and…

*side note* the graphic above makes me want a bowl of Lucky Charms. ha!

I hope March is the best month yet!

Share 4 Somethings

Hello and happy Saturday!

It’s the last day of February, and it’s also the last Saturday of the month, so I’m linking up with Jenn for Share 4 Somethings.

The topics typically are something we loved, something that sustained us, something we’re carrying forward from this month to the next, and something we’re making space for...but I tweaked a few to work with my current thoughts…

Something I’m loving…

Listen, I’m easy to please. It’s the little things that I’m loving right now. Every day, I write on my school white board. I actually have a double board, and for some reason I only have one eraser…and it always seems to be at the opposite end of the board that I need it.

Anyway, I bought this two pack of magnetic erasers, and I put one on each end of the board. These are great quality, and the magnetic feature is something I’m loving.

Shay shared this silicone mat for traveling with hair tools. I knew it was used to rest hair tools on when they are hot, but I didn’t realize the back side is a pouch! That’s so convenient for putting my curling iron in when I travel. I’ve already used this twice when we’ve gone out of town for volleyball, and I keep it in my travel bag. What a handy little thing that I’m loving.

Something I’m adjusting to…the kids driving. Truly, this milestone has both rocked my world and also afforded me more time on my hands…which just gives me more time to worry. haha!

My mind continues to be blown that I don’t have to pick up from practices (sometimes I still do) or even run certain errands. Honestly though, I’m happy for them to have their independence, but I’m also still holding my breath sometimes as they navigate certain routes at certain times.

Something I’m savoring… quiet time on the weekend whenever I can find it. Two weeks ago, we were in Knoxville for Hadley’s volleyball tournament. Last weekend, she had another tournament in Ohio. I was so tired that Trav told me to just hang at home with Hayden and he’d take Hadley to the tournament. I hate missing the kids’ activities, but I stayed home, and overall, it was a good decision. I savored the downtime because most of our weekends are pretty busy.

Last Sunday, I was up watching the gold medal hockey match while sipping my coffee and reading a magazine. I definitely savored that time, and I also savored my time with Hayden last weekend too. I’d had one on one time with Hadley the previous weekend…and Trav and Hadley had fun together last weekend. It all worked out.

I’m also savoring this bag of Tru Fruit! The frozen strawberries are the only Tru Fruit I like (although, I bet I’d like the frozen bananas too!). Anyway, I bought this bag at Target recently, and I hide stick it in the back of the freezer where the kids won’t see it. haha!

Something I’m carrying forward from this month…

…the warmer weather that we’re having at the end of February. Of course, I’m sure we still have some cold days ahead, but the warmer temps and the longer days of light mean that spring is around the corner.

This post was a fun way to start my Saturday! Now, I’m off to cross some things off my “to do” list!

Friday Favorites/Monthly Moments: February 2026

Hello and happy Friday!

How was your week? I feel like this week flew by! It was a good week of school, and we were busy in the evenings too. I will say that my evenings did feel a bit different without watching Olympic coverage.

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites…

…to take a look back on February…

I feel like I just shared this:

Screenshot

…for being a shorter month, it did feel like a long one!

We started February how we ended January…with lots of snow and ice.

Homer loves the snow.

We tried a new restaurant, and we’ll definitely go back.

Valentine’s Day was a little different since Hadley and I were in Knoxville for volleyball. We gave the kids a couple of gifts the night before.

Knoxville, Tennessee was a fun town to visit!

Hadley had two volleyball tournaments this month…one in Knoxville and one in Ohio.

Screenshot

She’s having a lot of fun with her team, and they’ve made it to the silver and gold brackets after pool play.

I’m getting used to the kids driving. They’ve done a good job sharing their car. We just have to have a game plan most days with four drivers sharing three cars.

Of course, we watched as much Olympic coverage as possible…at least I did!

Hadley is excited for the upcoming Sadie Hawkins dance, and the sign she made was so cute.

We packed a lot into February…even with the start of it feeling like Groundhog Day with snow, ice, cold temps and no school!

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts from the week:

I hope you have a happy Friday!

Monthly Musings

Hello and happy Thursday! I hope the week is treating you well.

Where did February go? Did you catch my post yesterday? I didn’t get it finished until after school, so it was published later in the day. I shared the four books I read in February.

Screenshot

Now, it’s time to link up with Patty on this last Thursday of the month for Monthly Musings.

This month’s topic is…ways we make our weeks easier.

I love this idea for a post, and I can’t wait to see what others share!

1. Paper planner, digital calendar or other option?

Oh…I use all the things! I will say that I rely heavily on the my calendar on my phone. That’s where I always put in appointments or even reminders to do things on certain days.

I still use a desk calendar and paper planner for school lesson planning.

Screenshot

At home, I have a meal planner pad on on the fridge that I use to write down dinners, evening activities and my grocery list. I’ve ordered one of these once a year for the past five years!

2. Meal planning, meal prep or wing it?

As much as I don’t enjoy it, I do meal plan. At this busy stage of life, I feel like it’s the only way to ensure we’ll eat a decent dinner! I don’t do the best job at meal prep, and for whatever reason, I choose to prep a couple lunches on Monday evening rather than the weekend if I’m doing that for the week. I do “wing” lunches sometimes, but I don’t “wing” dinners. That being said, the past couple of years, I’ve started planning dinner Sunday-Wednesday, and then hope we have leftovers for Thursday. If we don’t have leftovers, we’ll have breakfast for dinner, grilled cheese and tomato soup, or I will have some groceries delivered to make Thursday night dinner.

3. Do you choose your outfit the night before?

I do try to have an idea of what I’m going to wear before going to bed. Often times, on Monday, I wear whatever I wore to church on Sunday. I typically wear jeans on Friday. I usually have “favorite” seasonal things I want to wear, so I prioritize those week to week. It just makes it easier to have some kind of a plan.

4. Tips for managing laundry and ironing?

Honestly, laundry hasn’t ever really been a daunting task for me. When the kids were little, I’m sure I did more laundry than I do now, but I guess their clothes were smaller, so it didn’t seem like a lot. For years now, we’ve pretty much done laundry on the weekends. Hayden tends to have the most laundry which results in at least two loads. I usually toss my dirty clothes in with Hadley’s laundry. Trav tends to do his own laundry. Sometimes, the kids will start their own laundry which is nice.

For quite a few years now, the kids have put their clean clothes away. So, at least that’s a chore that’s not too much for all of us to handle.

The kids have had the same Ikea pop up laundry hampers for years. When we rearranged Hadley’s closet, she needed one that was a rectangle rather than circular, so I got her this one from Target, and it’s perfect. It fits in her closet like we need it to, and it has handles to carry it to the washer.

As far as ironing is concerned, I don’t iron. haha! We don’t tend to have too much that needs ironed, and if so, Trav does it.

5. Grocery shop…in-store or online?

As I’ve shared for years, I typically place online Kroger orders, and it’s so helpful. For almost two years now, I’ve used the delivery option as well. I probably have groceries delivered twice a month, and it’s typically a few things we need on Sunday if I’m running behind on a bigger order or a few things at the end of the week to get us to the weekend. Just this past weekend, I had to go into Kroger to pick up a prescription, and I actually did shop around for a few items which was nice.

6. Best tips for getting out the door in the morning without chaos?

Uhh…we started the year strong, and now it’s pretty chaotic! haha!

As always, getting up before the rest of the house is really helpful for me. I like to start my morning calmly.

Also, I will set an alarm for myself to start getting ready to keep me on track with time. Now, if only the kids would do the same!

7. Share your easiest dinners for crazy weeks.

The slow cooker is still the MVP for us on busy weeknights. My “go to” at least once a month is my Fiesta Chicken. It makes a ton, and it’s easy to do.

8. Best tips to keep your house organized during the week.

We always tidy up before bed. The house is at least tidy by the end of the day in order to start the day right the following morning. Also, on Sundays, I make the kids “reset” their rooms. I kind of ignore any mess until Sunday, and then clothes need to be put away, random Gatorade bottles need to be recycled and things like that.

9. Share your easiest breakfast.

I’m not a big breakfast person, but recently I’ve been using the method that Amy shared with microwaving eggs. I spray cooking spray into a glass dish, crack two eggs, and I whisk them and then add a splash of milk and some salt and pepper. After about 90 seconds in the microwave, they are ready to eat. If I can, I sprinkle some cheese on top and add some avocado. Just this week, I’ve taken the whisked eggs to school and microwaved them when I need my breakfast.

10. Share your best overall tip not covered yet.

For us, right now, communication is key. As a family, we used to talk about our week e very Sunday with upcoming events or appointments, so everyone knew what was going on. We still do that, but recently, we’ve been discussing day to day about what’s going on after school…and for some reason three cars among four drivers has seemed more complicated than two cars for four drivers. Anyway, Hadley left school one day, and I had to call her to remind her that she was my ride home! She had to turn around and come back for me. Anyway, communication has been key!

What are some of your best tips for making your week easier?

What I’ve Been Reading: February 2026

Hello and happy Wednesday!

Another month of reading under my belt for 2026 and it was a good one. Today, I’m sharing the books I read this month.

This month I read two books and listened to two books.

{As always, book summaries are from Goodreads…}

The Correspondent:

Summary:

Sybil Van Antwerp has throughout her life used letters to make sense of the world and her place in it. Most mornings, around half past ten, Sybil sits down to write letters—to her brother, to her best friend, to the president of the university who will not allow her to audit a class she desperately wants to take, to Joan Didion and Larry McMurtry to tell them what she thinks of their latest books, and to one person to whom she writes often yet never sends the letter.

Sybil expects her world to go on as it always has—a mother, grandmother, wife, divorcee, distinguished lawyer, she has lived a very full life. But when letters from someone in her past force her to examine one of the most painful periods of her life, she realizes that the letter she has been writing over the years needs to be read and that she cannot move forward until she finds it in her heart to offer forgiveness.

Quick Thoughts:

I’ve never read a book like this one…and I mean it in the best possible way.

This book is beautifully written, and letters Sybil writes moves the plot forward. Sybil is such an interesting character…her letters and emails are beautiful, funny, witty, serious, grumpy, straightforward and more.

Through her letters, we learn about love, heartbreak, loss, relationships, and mistakes she’s made in her life. As I was reading, I wondered how it would end…how the plot, driven through letter writing, would wrap up. This book was a memorable one, and one that will tug at your heartstrings.

I would have loved to listen to this one, but my library had the Kindle version available sooner.

Fave Quote:

  • “But I think of life rather like a long road we walk in one direction. By and large a lonesome walk out in the wildness of hills and wind. Mountains. Snow. And sometimes there is someone to come along and walk with you for a stretch, and sometimes you see in the distance some lights and it heartens you, the lone house or maybe a village and you come into the warmth and stopover and go inside.

The First Time I Saw Him:

Summary:

Five years after her husband Owen disappeared, Hannah and her stepdaughter Bailey have settled into a new life in Southern California. Together they’ve forged a relationship with Bailey’s grandfather Nicholas, and are putting the past behind them.

But when Owen shows up at Hannah’s new exhibition, Hannah knows that she and Bailey are in danger.

Hannah and Bailey are forced to go on the run in a relentless race to keep their past from catching up with them. As a thrilling drama unfolds, Hannah risks everything to get Bailey to safety—and finds there just might be a way back to Owen.

Quick Thoughts:

This was one of the books I listened to this month. This is the sequel to The Last Thing He Told Me. With the second season of the series coming out, I wanted to read this book. I guess this book was a “slow burn” with not a lot of action until the last 20% of the book. It did a good job of filling in the blanks since it had been a while since I read the first one. I feel like the ending left with the opportunity for a third book in the series?

Rating:

The Irish Goodbye:

Summary:

It’s been years since the three Ryan sisters were all home together at their family’s beloved house on the eastern shore of Long Island. Two decades ago, their lives were upended by an accident on their brother Topher’s boat, a friend’s brother was killed, the lawsuit nearly bankrupted their parents, and Topher spiraled into a depression, eventually taking his life. Now the Ryan women are back for Thanksgiving, eager to reconnect, but each carrying a heavy secret. The eldest, Cait, still holding guilt for the role no one knows she played in the boat accident, rekindles a flame with her high school crush, Topher’s best friend and the brother of the boy who died. Middle sister Alice’s been thrown a curveball threatening the career she’s restarting and faces a difficult decision that may doom her marriage. And the youngest, Maggie, is finally taking the risk to bring the woman she loves home to her devoutly Catholic mother. Infusing everything is the grief for Topher that none of the Ryans have figured out how to carry together.

When Cait invites a guest to Thanksgiving dinner, old tensions boil over and new truths surface, nearly overpowering the flickering light of their family bond. Far more than a family holiday will be ruined unless the sisters can find a way to forgive themselves—and one another.

Quick Thoughts:

I added this book to my TBR list since it was one of Jenna’s pics, and I really enjoyed this book. The three sisters are so different, and so much of the plot is over only a few days which I thought was interesting. The plot starts with the accident and goes from there, including a few flashbacks. The accident affected every family member differently, and those layers were peeled off through the years. I know what an “Irish Goodbye” is, but the reference to it in the story was subtle and kind of gave me pause to think about the connection. There are some heavy topics like miscarriage and abortion.

Rating:

4.5 stars!

Yes Please:

Summary:

In Amy Poehler’s highly anticipated first book, Yes Please, she offers up a big juicy stew of personal stories, funny bits on sex and love and friendship and parenthood and real life advice (some useful, some not so much), like when to be funny and when to be serious. Powered by Amy’s charming and hilarious, biting yet wise voice, Yes Please is a book full of words to live by.

Quick Thoughts:

I chose this book because it was a quick audiobook and I needed something to listen to. It is from 2014, so sometimes I had to remind myself of that with some of her reference points. I always love hearing about other people’s lives, and this one didn’t disappoint. Amy’s Boston accent is so fun, and the stories of her childhood and making her way through the ranks for TV and comedy were interesting. I loved listening to it because she’s funny, but she also had guest readers like Carol Burnett, Seth Myers, and even her parents!

Rating:

3.5 stars

I’m almost finished with one more book, so I guess I will have ended up reading five books in February. I’ll share that one next month though.

Happy reading!

Target Tuesday

Hello and happy Tuesday!

Y’all, we went from winter to spring and back to winter so fast that I have whiplash. I guess last week was “fake spring.” The snowflakes were flying most of the day yesterday, but we didn’t really get any accumulation.

Over the weekend, I went to Target looking for a specific home decor piece (more on that below), and I had some time to browse, and I found so many cute things. Honestly, my apologies in advance for the number of times I say “cute” in this post.

Here are a few recent Target finds:

Well, again, I will share my latest obsession —these candles! In the past month, I’ve purchased two pink (pink lady and peony) and then a green (honeyed pistachio) and white (amber sunrise) candle. I’m currently burning the green one, and I love it. My store still had them in stock.

This right here is what made me go to Target…this “berry serving bowl.” I was looking for something to add to my coffee table tray, and this color is my color…and I thought it was just perfect. Unfortunately, once I got it home, I realized that it’s too big for the tray. I’ve looked and tried to find a place in my kitchen, but I guess I will return it.

I guess Target has a collab with Rifle Paper Co now?! I saw so many cute (sorry!) items…from bookmarks to mugs to a candle to stationary and a tote!

Ok, these mesh shell pouches make me want to go to the beach! What a great idea.

You know I love a packing cube, and there were a few Cat and Jack options that are so fun for kids. (I can’t find them online?) Ok…why did just typing out Cat and Jack make me miss when my kids were little and wore Cat and Jack?

These puffy pouches are adorable!

Love the “self care” one. I feel like teens would love these.

Hi, my name is Jen, and I love a scallop detail! This little planter is precious.

Have you all seen these? Little mini Reese’s eggs! Don’t tell my kids, but I picked up two packs and put them in my school fridge for snacking! haha!

I feel like Target has so many colorful arrangements…

I was making my way to the Chobani Creamer when these cans of Slice stopped me in my tracks. I was having a flashback to my childhood. I’ve heard good things about the Poppi Shirley Temple, so I thought I’d try the Slice version. I tried it when I got home, and it’s good!

I feel like Target has the best selection of Chobani Creamer….and cookie dough is my fave right now.

Another beautiful selection…I love the Mrs. Meyer’s products, but I didn’t stock up just yet.

I joke that Target “tells me what I need” when I’m there, but I showed pretty good restraint! That being said, my list is long for the next time I go.

What did we do before Target?!

Monday Memes

Hello and happy Monday!

How was your weekend? Overall, mine was pretty low-key. Trav and Hadley were out of town for her volleyball tournament, and Hayden and I were at home. I was able to get a lot of things done at home, a few things for school, and I watched as much of the Olympics as possible. How about the exciting gold medal hockey game yesterday morning? I was up just in time to watch!

Anyway, it’s already the last Monday of the month, so I’m sharing a few favorite memes.

Well, as I type this, it’s snowing! We had such mild temps last week.

This one is timely. haha

I sent this one to a friend because it’s a running joke that a hotel matters. I’m not that picky, but I’m known for letting it be known that I won’t ever stay in a motel!

This one is me…adulting so hard!

Unfortunately, this one is relatable:

All the protein talk…all the time!

All of the sudden, my kids have become picky!

I sent this one to a friend because it’s soooo her!

This one is super accurate:

I hope these start your Monday off with a laugh!

Friday Favorites {#292}

Hello and happy Friday!

How was your week? Ours was good overall, but I think being out of town last weekend made me extra tired this week. We had warmer temps and lots of sunshine…proof that spring is around the corner.

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea for Friday Favorites.

Here are a few favorites from the week.

Since Hadley and I were going to be out of town for volleyball, I gave the kids their Valentine’s Day presents on Friday after school.

I got both kids and Trav some candy, and then for Hayden, he always suggests baseball cards as a gift, so I bought him a box at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Also, I bought him a Chiefs keychain for the car, so he didn’t have to use the dealer one anymore. I actually got him an air tag too, so he can keep up with the keys.

Hadley has completely hijacked one of our new living room blankets, so I got her one of her own. After we went to Hadley’s first tournament, we realized she didn’t really have an overnight bag. She often uses a spare backpack, but we purged what she had when we cleaned out her closet. Anyway, some of her friends have this Free People Carryall bag, and when I searched for it, I realized DSG has them…and some colors were on sale. So, on one of our snow days, I went to our local store and bought her one in the “petal” color. When she opened it, she was surprised and said, “Oh…it’s the real thing!” She knows I love a dupe! haha (I love a sale too, apparently!)

Anyway, they kids were surprised and appreciative.

Travis gave me a gift card for a massage, and of course my card had bubble letters.

Saturday was Valentine’s Day, and we were up and out the door to drive to Knoxville. Hadley’s team played in the afternoon wave, and wore their pink shirts for Valentine’s Day.

They played well on Saturday! Hadley’s been working on a little jump serve, and she’s getting there!

That evening, we walked around downtown we saw lots of festive touches.

How cute are these hearts and the red and white lights?

I swear Hadley is going to turn into a taco! She requested Mexican food once she saw that restaurant option, so that’s what we had…and then we went for ice cream. I was full, but she got the red velvet, and it was delish.

We walked back to the hotel which was around the corner from the Tennessee Theater. I’d seen this lit up sign in photos, so it was as surprise to walk right past it.

Sunday, they didn’t play until the afternoon, so we had some time on our hands. It was a really rainy morning, so it was nice to start off slowly. We met friends and had lunch at Tupelo Honey. We’d been to one in Asheville before, and the biscuits were as good as I remembered them to be.

Loved the Bless Your Heart glasses.

The girls dodged the rain to shop a bit, and then we headed to the convention center. They played some tough teams, but overall played well on Sunday too.

Sunday was a very late night that ended with us eating Chipolte (for Hadley – I told you…she’s going to turn into a taco!) and Cava for me…in our hotel room at 9:30 at night. We were so tired!

This was a three day tournament…I’m not sure why (LOL!). The girls made it to the silver bracket on Monday morning. We were down a hitter, so Hadley played all around on Monday. I laugh when my 5’3″ daughter playing front row, but she had some good hits AND a couple of blocks. She was so happy!

We were home by Monday afternoon, so at least I had some time at home on my Monday day off. I unpacked, took a nap, and placed a Kroger order. Overall, it was a good but busy weekend.

Yesterday, I sat in the backseat while Hadley drove us home from school. Her friend was in the front seat, and I was like, “Wow! Times have changed!” haha

Y’all, the Toms ads are targeting me! In the winter, I purchased two pairs of booties (to replace two that I’d had for years) that were on sale, and then, I saw an ad for these mules that were on sale. I ordered the metallic linen color, and they arrived this week. I can’t wait for spring! (Some colors appear to be out of stock, but there is limited sizing on some others…I did size up from a 9 to 9.5)

Yesterday, I didn’t feel like working out, but I decided to do a quick workout. Well, I got a notification that I’d completed my 400th workout! I believe this is my 400th since I started tracking about three years ago. Anyway, it was a pleasant surprise of an accomplishment.

Favorite Mom Meme:

This one depends on the day, but I can certainly relate.

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts from the week:

We have lots going on this weekend, but I hope to get caught up on some much needed rest. I also need to take down my (limited) Valentine’s Day decor, I hope to finish a book and watch what’s left of the Olympics.
