Hello and happy Wednesday! How is your week going? I’ve been so tired by bedtime and even hitting snooze a time or two in the morning. Ever since fall break, it’s been hard to get back into a groove. That being said, the weather has been amazing, so it’s been nice to sit on the front porch when I get home from school or go for a walk.
Today, I’m linking up with Joyce for Wednesday Hodgepodge.

Here are my answers to her prompts this week:
1. This week’s Hodgepodge lands on ‘Back to the Future Day.’ October 21, 2015 was the date the movie characters (Marty McFly, Doc, and Jennifer Parker) traveled to in the future in the 1989 film Back to the Future Part 2. Did you see the movie? Tell us something about what was happening in your life in the fall of 2015.
Ok, well this blows my mind that we’re past the future date by eleven years! haha
We’re big Back to the Future people…well, I should say my brother and I are. He loves that movie. When I started dating Travis, he swore that Travis resembled Michael J. Fox…and would reference Back to the Future…even mentioning the flux capacitor from time to time. haha
Anyway, while I know I’ve seen Back to the Future 2, I’m more familiar with the original.
In the fall of 2015, the kids were in kindergarten, and I was all about being an elementary school mom!

2. Which – ber month is your favorite? (September, October, November, December). Explain why.
Oh…I love all the “-ber” months, but October has always been my fave.

I appreciate September because fall is on the way, but it’s still so hot, and we’re so focused on school in September. November is fabulous because of Thanksgiving and the kids’ birthday. December is often stressful with the holidays and just busyness of school and the end of the semester.
In October, there are so many great things to do like go to Keeneland, go to football games, the temps are cool in the morning and evening, but the daytime temps are still in the 70’s, the leaves start to change colors, I decorate my porch for fall, we usually go to the pumpkin patch, and the list goes on and on!

3. Red, yellow, orange, bronze…your favorite fall color to wear? To eat? To see in nature?
Honestly, I’m a neutral girl even in the fall. I don’t own anything orange or yellow. I do have a few sweatshirts that are a crimson color.
I guess as far as favorite color to eat, I can say orange thanks to all the pumpkin options!

I love when the leaves change colors…with the bright orange and yellow and the pretty red colors too.

4. What do you miss most about being 20?
Oh, what’s not to miss?! I don’t need to go back in time…of course, there’s something about “with age comes wisdom,” and I’ve definitely settled into who I am. I’ve been through a lot, and it’s shaped me into who I am. There have also been many blessings in the twenty-five years since I was twenty. That being said, of course, I do miss some things from my youth…like having a jawline and not having random aches and pains.
I was working out a couple of weeks ago, and I remember thinking my knee was kind of hurting after a move…but then it went away. A couple of days later, my knee started bothering me again, and now it’s uncomfortable going up and down the stairs. So random.
5. We’re roughly three quarters of the way through the year. What’s one goal, habit, or mindset you want to purposely carry into the final weeks of the year?
I just want to make the most of what’s left of this year. It can be easy to think “I ‘have'” to do something when really I should re-frame some things into “I get” to do them. November and December can nearly take me out, so I’m just trying to take things day to day and not get overwhelmed.
January is always great for a fresh start and reset, but I want to enjoy what’s left of the -ber months too!

6. Insert your own random thought here.
I’ve shared about the Emma M. Lion series that I’m currently loving…and I’m on book 5 now. While I’ve either listened to the audio book or read on my Kindle, I wanted to own these books. It’s just such a fun series, and the book covers are so colorful.

I really only purchase a few books a year since I typically get my books (books, audio and Kindle) from the library, but I just couldn’t say no to owning these. I’ve ordered each book separately just when placing other Amazon orders. I hope to pick up five and six next, and then actually read the volume six book after I finish listening to volume 5.
I guess these are my adult version of owning a series…like when I was a kid and “had” to have the Babysitters Club books! haha!
Have a great Wednesday!

Look at that adorable kindergarten photo! You have lots of lovely fall photos too. I also mentioned missing having no pain when I was in my 20’s. It’s funny how that creeps up on you as you get older.
