Monthly Musings

Hello and happy Thursday!

As the month of March winds down, I’m linking up with Holly and Patty for Monthly Musings.

This month’s topic is Spring Fashion.

“Fashion”…this word is tricky for me as I don’t feel like I’m very fashionable. Put together most of the time…maybe…but I don’t know about “fashionable.”

1. What is your go-to spring outfit?

Once spring break is over, my typical school outfit is a dress, cardigan, and sandals if the weather cooperates.

2. Favorite spring fashion pieces?

I can’t wait to see how others answer this question. I don’t even change up my jewelry from season to season.

I do enjoy finding (or borrowing) a fascinator for Oaks.

3. Do you change your handbag for spring?

I usually switch from a larger winter purse to this crossbody. I like changing out the straps in the spring and the summer.

4. When do you bring out your open toed shoes?

After spring break if the weather cooperates…and then I usually don’t put sandals up until early October after fall break.

Just this week, I got a pedicure. I tried a new color…Arigato from Tokyo.

5. Favorite spring scents?

If this means perfume, I don’t really change that up.

These three continue to be my “go to” scents that Trav and the kids have given me the past couple of Christmases.

If we are talking scents like candles, I do change those throughout the seasons. I love linen and lilac scents in the spring.

6. When to wear white?

I don’t really have a hard and fast rule. Just to wear something different to school, I usually get out my white denim in May.

7. Favorite way to add spring to wardrobe when weather isn’t cooperating?

Well, weather cooperating or not, a cardigan is my “go to” in the spring because you also never know about classroom temps. This is my favorite cardigan; I have it in three colors!

8. Do you change your makeup routine in the spring?

I wear Seint year round, and the only thing I change is the highlight color if I have a tan.

9. How do you transition your wardrobe for spring?

I love neutral colors, but I do like to wear more color once spring arrives.

10. Favorite spring jewelry or accessories?

I don’t really change up my jewelry. I’m still loving these rings which were a recent purchase. I love rose gold.

This fun link up has me wanting the temps to stay warm. Bring on spring!

  1. I don’t change out my jewelry or my perfume scents with the change of season either. I really need to start pairing cardigans with dresses though; what a fun way to transition seasons.

  2. Yes! I do pretty much the same. I start wearing dresses and sandals at the end of the year and then I wear that to start school until October ish, too. I have pedicure on my list for one of the first things I need to do. I also start keeping up with self tanner on arms and legs or my spray tan membership if I’m wearing dresses. I have several light cardigans but I love your hot pink one. I’m afraid it might be too heavy for my classroom.

This makes me happy! Yay! I still have my dresses packed away. I have noticed that the gauzy dress we have from Target is still going strong at other retailers and it comes in lots of colors. I think that fabric is really nice and forgiving so I plan to buy at least one more!

    1. I might get a spray tan this weekend. It makes me feel better to have a little color 😆 I was at old navy last week and noticed a similar dress there like our target one. I was tempted to snag!

      1. Do it! I think I’m keeping my monthly membership through April. I want to wear dresses and that will help. The ON similar dress is on sale for $17 right now and I might get the blue.

      2. I think last spring, I bought the three tans for $50 but then in May, they had $10 tans that I used sometimes. I’m keeping my eye out for deals 🙂

      3. I tried and tried to find deals and then just bit the bullet. I paid $60 for March and sprayed 3 or 4 times. I just couldn’t get there more. I am going tomorrow and then I will decide on freezing again or doing it again for April. I mean it’s one of the few beauty things I do. I just get pedicures and hair done so I don’t spend a lot in that category.

  3. I’m pretty sure I’ve said this before, but I love your style! I love dresses and wear them all the time when the weather warms up. I am hoping to gain a little bit of color on my legs this weekend before I wear my new dress to church on Sunday! I love all of your dresses, cardigans, and those new rings. That was a great purchase!
