Hello and happy Friday!
Also, happy St Patrick’s Day! We don’t have school today, and I’m glad to not be there on a day when people like to pinch if you aren’t wearing green. haha
As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Well, we’ve been in a weather slump this week…this meme is appropriate:

Losing an hour of sleep has made me feel extra tired this week.

That being said, here are some favorites from the week:
Favorite Food:
I decided to embrace the colder weather and plan some hearty meals. This week we ate:
- Chili
- Shredded chicken sandwiches
- Chicken spaghetti
Other Faves:
*Hadley brought home some artwork this week. You know…in middle school, they don’t bring things home like they did in elementary school. I thought her sea turtle was so cute.

*On Monday, I had my annual mammogram. While I don’t love that appointment, I felt relieved to receive good results. Friendly reminder to make that appointment.

*Most evenings this week we didn’t have much going on past 6:00. It was a brief reprieve from what sometimes feels like a non-stop schedule.
*Both kids made the track team this week! They were excited and are looking forward to a fun season. Track meets don’t start until after Spring Break, so we’ll have a couple more weeks of mostly free evenings.
*My MIZZOU Tigers won their first game of the tournament. Who knows how far they will go, but they are such a fun team to watch. I’m glad they’ve made it another round!

*Last night, Hayden’s basketball team had their end of season banquet. It was fun to celebrate them after a successful season.

Favorite Kid Quote:
I’ve said before that Hayden and Hadley couldn’t be any different if they tried. Hadley still has lots of energy at the end of the day. Wednesday night, she was showing us a dance routine and telling us what a great day she had.
Hayden walked in the room, and without missing a beat, she said “Hi! best friend.” He definitely gave her the side eye before rolling his eyes 😆 Sometimes, he doesn’t know what to do with her.
Favorite Mom Meme:
This is very relatable:

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday
In honor of March Madness, here’s Hayden with his bracket in 2016. He still love this time of the year.

Weekly Recap:
Here are my posts from the week in case you missed one:
What are your weekend plans? The kids have indoor track and Hadley has volleyball this weekend. On Sunday, I’m going to make corned beef, cabbage, and Irish soda bread. We can’t wait!
See you back here on Monday!

So jealous of your day off! I could have used that! I really wasn’t much affected by the time change this year and had no trouble going to be at my normal time or getting up my normal time. One day my alarm didnt’ go off and I “overslept” by about an hour, but because I get up with so much time to spare I was fine.
Congrats on track team! Hadley’s painting was so good!
Why is it winter again? I guess this always happens, doesn’t it? It just makes us appreciate real spring that much more!
Enjoy your 3 day weekend! You deserve it and I wish for you the perfect balance of rest, productivity, and fun!

It does feel like winter haha why ?! I sometimes think March is the worst month 😆I was able to sleep in (by my standards) , so we are off to a good start. This is always a weather makeup day but I guess even with missing days for the storm, we don’t need it? They said that last year and then added a day at the end of the year which was annoying. Oh well.

You are the second person to mention pinching if you’re not wearing green… I don’t ever remember that being a thing! I so rarely think to wear green on St. Patrick’s day. I had to wait two weeks to hear back about my mammogram but it was a relief to know I’m good for another year. Enjoy your day off. I hope it’s a nice relaxing one.

I feel like it’s an elementary school thing haha. Who knows. I’m thankful I got the results in two days. I wasn’t worried but you know- it’s nice to hear you are good for another year.

Happy day off! Hope you are catching up on sleep. The boys are doing their very first bracket this year for the tournament. Our oldest was already beside himself watching a game where the team he picked ended up losing yesterday evening. 😅

Awe! Poor thing! This is when I bond with hayden because I love to watch basketball. I didn’t do a bracket this year though. I was afraid if I filled one out, I’d jinx MU haha

The way she said it was just so funny. Her timing and tone were just enough to annoy him 😆 it was a good week of meals.

Congrats to your kids for making the track team. I think running track is a fabulous sport. So many good life lessons come with running.
Love the sea turtle art. My granddaughters have both begun drawing for us and we have been putting the latest works of art in cheap frames from Walmart. They were so impressed that we did that.
Pinned those memes. Made me laugh. I needed that.

I have a couple of their art pieces from elementary school framed in my room and I may add to it with some of these other things they are bringing home this year 🙂

That day off sounds wonderful!! We are all in on March Madness over here, too! Congratulations to both kids on making the track team. Having no activities after 6 pm sounds like a dream. I hope you enjoyed those evenings at home!
