Hello! Today is a special day here on Show Me and Sweet Tea! It’s my two year blogiversary! Sometimes, it feels like I’ve been blogging for years and other times it feels like I’ve only just begun…

I’d been wanting to start a blog for a few years, and on August 4, 2019, I finally published my first post.

Now, 400+ posts later, I’m so glad that I did. This has been a fun creative outlet for me, and I’ve “met” so many great people along the way! I’m very thankful for my loyal readers!

I thought I’d take a look back on a few of my favorite posts that I wrote throughout the year.

In no particular order, here they are:

1. Lexington Top 5:

I shared some of my favorite things about Lexington from restaurants to activities and more!

2. Surgery:

I reflected on my hysterectomy, and I felt all the love and support from everyone after writing that vulnerable post.

These were very “2020” posts thinking back on the year of virtual school and how our lives were over the course of the pandemic.

4. Reflection on the Elementary Years:

My kids wrapped up their 5th grade year finally in the classroom. I took a look back on their amazing elementary experience. Middle school starts next week!

5. Isle of Palm Vacation Recap:

We spent a few days in South Carolina this summer which is one of our favorite places to visit. I recapped that trip which includes all that we did along with some of my favorite photos of the summer.

Of course, I’ve enjoyed writing all of my posts (or why would I write them? ;), but these were just a few meaningful ones that stuck out to me over the past year.

  3. Congrats on 2 years and 400 posts! Wow! I’m so glad I found you – can’t remember how? I read back over some of your posts and I think I somehow missed the Lexington one! So good and I am going to share the restaurants with some friends with new UK students.
    My favorite thing about summer is the leisurely pace. I rarely rush to do anything or get anywhere and it’s good for my type A soul. My life will be lived on a clock and a bell schedule in just a few days. I know you feel that!

    1. I love your blog too! I can’t remember how I found you…maybe a link up via Shay? So glad we’ve “met.” I love the slower pace of summer even then it still feels hectic in this season of life. Yes, share those restaurants for the UK kids 🙂

  5. Happy Anniversary! Not sure how I found your blog, but I definitely enjoy it! My favorite thing about summer is that is stays light longer and so we are able to enjoy being outside longer with family and friends.

  9. I started blogging then took a long break but found some great blogs along the way….yours being one of them! One of my favorite things about summer is reading and I always enjoy your book reviews. There have been differing opinions on Malibu Rising and I’m reading that one soon! Have a great rest of summer! @aengles

  10. Happy blogiversary! I enjoy reading your blog, especially your recipes, house posts and book recommendations. Thank you for introducing me to Dot’s pretzels, too! I am a teacher as well so my favorite thing about summer is being home with my kids!

    1. Thanks so much for following along! I love being home with my kids in the summer too! I never stayed home with them when they were little, so I’ve always felt blessed to have the extra time with them in the summer. And, yes! Dots pretzels are the best. Thanks so much for reading!
