Prime Purchases

Hello and happy Monday!

How was your weekend? Overall, ours was really good. We went out to dinner Friday night at a pizza place we hadn’t been to in a while.

I spent most of Saturday watching the Olympics and doing things around the house. Then, Hayden had a basketball game, and Travis and I joined Hadley for the family picnic with her volleyball team on Saturday night.

After the volleyball picnic, Hadley and her teammates had a lock in at school. She got home yesterday morning around 7:30, and slept most of the day. I spent most the day being in denial that I head back to school today 😉 Oh well, the time has come!

As always, I’m linking up with Tanya to share my Amazon purchases in July. Buckle up! haha

Here are my purchases this month:

Me:

Well, I jumped on the layered necklace trend. I’ve been wearing this one all summer, and sometimes add in this beaded necklace. I’m so trendy. haha

I’ve seen this striped sweatshirt shared by quite a few people, and when I saw this color way, I decided to purchase it. I got my typical size large, and it’s over-sized, but not too much. The material is more structured, and not typical sweatshirt material. I’ve already worn it quite a few times lounging around at home, with jeans, and with shorts. It did arrive sooner than originally stated.

After two years of doing SNS/dip polish, I decided my nails needed a little break. Well, when I went to look at my nail polish collection, most of them were pretty dried up. So, I turned to my tried and true brand: OPI and got my favorite neutral color: Bubble Bath.

My eyebrows have always been a lot, and now I’m thankful that thick/bushy (am I explaining this correctly!?) eyebrows are in. Hadley likes to brush (again, not the right word?) hers, and when I saw this brow wand, I thought I’d give it a try. I’m liking how it’s working to tame my brows.

Kids:

Trav bought these Drip Drop packets for the kids to use in their water for hydration.

Before running camp, Hayden needed a few more pairs of socks, so Travis ordered these for him. There are lots of color options.

Fun fact: Hadley used to have twice the laundry as Hayden, and now that’s reversed. Depending on the day, sometimes he runs (one outfit), works out (another outfit), and then has his regular clothes. Throw in swim trunks if he’s been to the pool , or hot and sweaty after mowing the grass, and numerous pairs of socks from all his running and sweating, his laundry piles up quickly!

This summer, Hadley requested a matching set of pajamas. I got her this pair, and she wears them non-stop!

Hadley needed a couple more sports bras, and she found this one. It’s less than $20, and has 41,000 reviews, so I picked up two of them during Prime Day.

More Prime Day:

Other Prime Day purchases include:

A new makeup bag for me….

I had my eye on this one, and ordered it. There are many color options, and it’s been perfect for me as I was looking for a makeup bag that was more compact than the one I’d been using the past few years. Right now, it has a 20% off coupon.

Also on Prime Day, I ordered the viral “snackle” box. There are various sizes, but I got the one with eight compartments. I haven’t used it much yet, but it’s come in handy for fruits and veggies.

If you have one, what do you put in it?

Travis is a patient man until it comes to dealing with our Tupperware. He hates all the odds and ends, and we don’t have a good storage system for our various sizes of Tupperware.

When I saw this set on sale during Prime Days, I asked him if I should order it, and he said nothing would make him happier. #sodramatic

I know I will use these a lot for lunches and leftovers. I did take a moment to get everything organized, and toss some of our older Tupperware or those that were missing lids, etc.

Anyway, I feel like I’m really adulting with these glass containers!

I’m almost embarrassed to say this, but I ordered this shirt, in a THIRD color. I just love the over-sized fit, and it can be worn with leggings or demin. It goes on sale off and on, so I snagged it during Prime Days for a lower price. It does have a 10% off coupon right now.

I hope you have a great Monday. My alarm is going off at 5:30 to get Hayden to cross country practice before I head to school for a day of professional development. I’m really jumping back into the school year with both feet! #sayaprayerforme

Enneagram Travel

Hello!

Wow…I really wish this week would slow down a bit. I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared an Enneagram post, but I saw these graphics by @mirabellecreations, earlier in the summer and thought they’d be fun to share since summer seems to be a heavy season of travel for many people.

Also, after sharing the posts about our vacation, it was fun to look at these again as an Enneagram 5w6 and reflect on how I travel.

Type 5 Travel:

  • Wants to learn as much as possible about their destination: This is definitely true for me. I don’t know if it’s the teacher in me or what, but of course, I want to learn a bit about where we are going. I loved our trip to Washington, DC and it was fun prioritizing what we could see while we were there. Also, if I go somewhere I’ve previously been, I like to try new things as well. I like the familiarity of places, but it’s also neat to try to restaurants or see other attractions.
  • Curious and perceptive, enjoys exploring new places: I do like to go somewhere new when we can. We’ve been pretty intentional about taking our kids to a variety of places, but it is nice to repeat locations as well. Like I’ve shared in other travel posts, we kind of have a “rhythm” to our travel in that we repeat locations like Siesta Key and the Destin area of Florida, and we usually go to more nearby locations for spring break. That being said, the kids have seen the Grand Canyon, been to Mexico and California, hiked in North Carolina, been on a tour of downtown Charleston, SC, gone to Smithsonian museums in DC and more. Of course, our recent vacation showcased new areas for all of us. And…to add on to “exploring new places,” it was nice that we were in the car so much for our PNW trip as we were able to pull over on our road trips to some of the scenic viewpoints or stop in little towns we might not have seen otherwise.

This pic is a prime example of pulling over on the side of the road to check out the stunning views of the Oregon coast.

  • Enjoys having their own space and alone time on group or family trips: Well, you know no matter where I am I will carve out some quiet alone time in the morning. On our recent vacation, depending on where we were, that looked different, but I sat in a hotel lobby, in a chair with a lake view, on the sand looking at the ocean and other places too. It’s nice to take in whatever it is we are experiencing but also keep the routine of my quiet time before the day gets away from me.

Type 6 Travel:

  • The absolute best at planning vacations: Well, I am a “type A” planner, so you would think that I love planning vacations, but I don’t. I’ve always said that I feel like I plan most of our days, meals, activities, schedules, etc. in the “real life” days, so I want a break from that on vacation. I feel the same way about going to the grocery store and cooking on vacay too! Thankfully, Travis has always done a great job making plans. That being said, I’m sure there are times he’d appreciate more input from me, but he also knows I’m better with choices…so he will ask if I’d rather do “x” or “y,” and I can usually give a response. haha On the PNW vacation, was nice to have the “bones” of the trip laid out with what towns we were staying in, but it was fun to kind of plan each day accordingly depending on our energy level, time frame, and weather. I planned our Seattle day, so at least I was a little bit of help 🙂
  • May sometimes feel anxious about new places and travel unknowns: I don’t know if this one exactly applies to me either…Oh…I definitely feel anxious…but it’s not really about travel unknowns. I will say that sometimes after I make a decision, I second guess myself…which then can bring anxiety about the unknowns. For example, when we went to Mexico two years ago, we narrowed down to two resorts, and I made the final call…and then wondered if it was the correct one. In the end, it was the best choice! Also, I can feel anxious leading up to leaving…there’s just always so much to do from laundry to errands to packing to picking up the house to cleaning out the fridge to making sure Homer is taken care of and more. Once we’re in the car or on the plane, I feel better.
  • At home in new places where they feel safe and secure: This is definitely true. On our PNW trip, once we were settled in each place, I almost didn’t want to leave. Of course, most vacations we don’t move around as much, but it was nice to feel “at home” in the various places from Air BNB to hotels to a lodge to a beach house.

The “5” criteria seems to hit home a bit more for me than the “6” criteria, but I guess that makes sense.

What are your travel plans this summer? Can you relate to any of these ideas?

Today is the last Amazon Prime Day. Have you made any good purchases? I don’t usually have any major purchases on Prime Days, but I do try to snag a few items that I typically use or smaller items I’ve had my eye on.

Yesterday, I purchased:

  • This desk calendar for school. I always buy one a few weeks before school starts, so I can go ahead and write down the kids’ activities and school related things like meetings.
  • Hadley really wanted these PJs, and I almost bought them on Monday night, but Amazon said they’d be on sale, so I waited, and did get a few bucks off (-25%) by waiting for Prime Day.
  • I desperately need a new makeup bag, and I’ve had this one saved for quite a while. I went ahead and purchased it yesterday. It comes in a lot of colors.
  • I’ve been loving this retinol eye stick, and while $24 isn’t bad the first time I bought it, I really appreciate the $14 Prime Day deal.
  • This “snackle box” is all the rage right now, and it’s currently sitting in my cart. I think I might go ahead and buy it today. I’ve had my eye on it all summer.

Anyway, I will probably share a few more things today on Instagram. I know this time of the year, I feel like all I see are “deals” and I do try to find the balance of what I actually need vs. what I think I want. haha

Have a great summer day!

Prime Purchases

Hello and happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. We got home late Saturday night, and then spent most of the day yesterday trying to get our lives organized. Well, I did while Trav cut the grass and did other things around the house…the kids went to the pool. haha!

Also…Happy July 1st.

Well, July 1st stings a little bit. For us, it’s definitely the midway point of summer. I hate to sound pessimistic, but once July rolls around, I tend to start thinking about school and all I need to do…and I feel the start of the school year closing in on us. June was such a busy month that I am hoping to relax a bit the next few weeks.

Since it’s the first Monday of the month, I’m joining Tanya to share my Prime Purchases this month.

I did feel this way for most of June:

Here are my purchases this month:

I showed Hadley this tank at the beginning of summer, and she ordered it in pink. She loved it so much, and the price was so good, that we ordered it in light blue as well. She has one similar “designer” tank, and this one is very similar (or at least similar enough!) and perfect for her in the summer.

While scrolling Instagram, Hadley saw these shorts. Again, they are similar to a pricier pair she has, so I said we’d give them a try. She loved them so much that she got them in pink and navy. They come in SO many colors.

I shared this short sleeved henley last month, and I ordered it in pink as well. It’s definitely over-sized, so my true size gives the over-sized fit to wear with leggings.

I really wanted a new pair of white denim jeans. I only have one other pair that I’ve had for years. Some years they fit, and some years they don’t. haha!

I did size up one in these which I feel like I have to do in white jeans, but I really love these. They have a cuff at the bottom and are stretchy.

I wanted to try the layered necklace trend and thought this rose gold one with my initial was cute. I’ve been wearing it consistently for a couple of weeks with my other regular necklace, and I love it.

This romper is SO cute. I bought it thinking I’d wear it on vacation, but I never did. That being said, I’ve worn it otherwise, and it’s very comfy and cute. I can even see myself wearing it to school…probably with one of my favorite cardigans.

While I still use these eye gels daily, I still also love these gold ones. I bought another pack of them, so I could take some with me on our vacation. I put a few packs in the fridge everywhere we stayed, and they were just easier to pack than the jar of the other ones.

I still enjoy using my Seint make-up, but I was intrigued by this liquid blush, and I really like it!

We got Travis this acupressure mat as one of his Father’s Day gifts. As suspected, the kids have used it too!

So, those were my purchases this month. Knowing that I might buy a few things for back to school in August, and coming off a vacation, I hope to have a lighter spending month overall in July…including Amazon…but we’ll see!

I hope to post pretty regularly this week, and even start recapping our trip, but I will just see what I have time to get accomplished.

Have a great day,

Summer Sundays #4

Hello and happy Sunday!

I hope you are having a great weekend.

‘Tis the season for travel! I’m keeping up with my Summer Sunday series to share some of my favorite travel items.

Here are a few of my “go to” items when we travel:

These TSA approved travel bottles are perfect for lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and more.

I bought them two years ago when we went to Mexico, and we still use them.

I bought these clear bags with handles for the same trip, and again, we still use them. We put various things in them including snacks, toiletries, chargers and more.

Hadley loves these cute toiletry bags for a a variety of her needs.

You know I love my packing cubes. I’ve shared them many times before, and we have them in blue, teal, and gray.

You know I don’t leave home without my eye gels! I have been using these, but I still love these gold ones…and they are probably easier to travel with as I can take a few packs with me rather than the jar.

I actually purchased this pack of toothbrushes when I started my Invisalign journey, but they have come in very handy for travel. Everyone in my family has one, and they know which one is their color of toothbrush.

This travel mirror with LED lights comes in handy.

I’m new to these sponges, but I love them. I brought a few with us on our trip to Washington, DC, and I use them at home as well. I liked packing things that when I use them, I throw them away which means I come home with less than I packed!

I bought this belt bag last year, and it’s still one I use especially when we travel. It holds quite a bit, and since it’s a cross body, it’s easy to wear and not have to carry or keep up with it.

This mini speaker isn’t a “must have” for travel, but I got it for Hadley last year (maybe for her birthday?), and it comes in handy for listening to music at the beach or hanging out.

I gave Travis this charging strip in his Christmas stocking a couple of years ago, and it’s great because you can charge so many things at once.

One of the first times we actually used it was spring of 2023 when our power went out. We went to my brother’s house a couple of time to charge everything, and we can do so when we plugged in this charging strip.

This travel bag is great for keeping all of the chargers and cords organized.

We’re off on a fun trip this week, and are using most of these items.

What are some of your travel “must haves?”

Friday Favorites {#211}

Hello and happy Friday!

Well, I feel like Fridays are arriving quicker than I like. It’s the opposite of during the school year…I’d like for time to slow down a bit.

As always, I’m linking up with Erika and Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

KC:

Usually, I write a whole post recapping our trips and vacations, but I just didn’t have time this week. So here’s a quick run down of what we did when we went to visit family.

We usually go to KC at the end of the summer, but just how our summer is this year along with high school sports starting in July, I wanted to make sure we got our trip in sooner rather than later.

Last Wednesday, the kids had 9:00 dental cleanings, and then we left around 11:00 for KC. It was a nine hour drive, per usual, but thankfully, it was uneventful!

Honestly, we didn’t do a ton which I think we all really appreciated. Coming off the school year and still being a bit tired, it was nice to just hang out and relax.

We’ve played Left, Right, Center, but my mom LCR Wild, and it was a fun twist on the game.

I definitely recommend it.

My mom’s neighborhood was having their annual garage sale, and the kids helped out a bit..or did they?!

Hayden went to the driving range a couple of times.

We went to the Royals game on Friday night. They were playing the Seattle Mariners. Since moving away from KC, I obviously don’t get to see them play a lot(in person), but we’ve attended a few games through the years with the kids.

When the kids were probably six or seven, we went to a game, and they were losing in the first inning 10-0 (or maybe more!). Well, this team is better but the game started off the same way. They were down 7-0 at the end of the first inning, and then 8-0. Eventually, they started to chip away at the score, and we wondered if they’d make a comeback.

Well…they did! A walk off win was very exciting to see in person.

Bobby Witt, Jr. (#7) is definitely one of the favorite players.

Every Friday night of the season, there are fireworks (win or lose)…and they are even better after a big win!

There was a little bit of rain in the middle of the game, but otherwise, it was a really nice evening of baseball.

On Saturday, we took Crumbl cookies to my dad’s house.

While at my dad’s house, we watched the final episode of Wheel of Fortune with Pat Sajak as the host. This has always been a favorite show of mine!

Then, we went to Gma’s house for dinner, and we watched the UK baseball game and then played some more LRC Wild. Just like last year, Hayden is very into watching these games. We got home on Sunday just in time to go to the last super regional game with Travis and cousins.

It was a really great visit seeing family and enjoying some downtime.

Again, thankfully the drive home was pretty easy, but with only me driving, I was ready to get home!

When I got home, I was excited to see that my Trader Joe’s peonies had bloomed even more than before we’d left.

While we were in KC, we missed our “Homerversary”…

…so we got him DQ ice cream on Monday night. He’s five(ish) now, and we love him so.

After his dessert, we took him for a walk.

Fave Follow:

Do you follow Kara on Insta? (@karaskorner123) She’s a hoot!

Fave ‘fit:

I bought this set from Amazon a couple of weeks ago, and it’s great!! I ordered my regular size, and it looks like the price has dropped a bit…to less than $26. I’ve worn it a couple of times, including to summer school on Monday.

Now I kind of want to buy the shorts version I’ve saved as well.

I did get a little pool time this week…even though it was brief. Of course the one afternoon I could go, the pool closed early for a swim meet.

I’ve been on a reading roll lately…including listening to two audio books. I used my nine hours each way to KC wisely. Real talk: those are the first two audio books (The Office BFF’s and Birdie & Harlow) I’ve ever listened to…and they were both memoirs (ish), so that’s why I chose them. I’m still not sure I can focus and follow the plot of a book while listening.

Favorite dinner:

On Tik Tok a few weeks ago, I saw this simple recipe shared. I buy the “cook in the bag” pork loins pretty often, but this person took the pork loin out of the bag, added it to the slow cooker, poured in a can of beef broth, and a can of water and cooked on low for 6 hours.

Then, you do need to drain the meat, but we put it on sliders with some BBQ sauce, and shredded mozzarella.

This was my easy and delicious dinner the other night with a microwave baked potato and watermelon:

Favorite Mom Meme:

hahaha!

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday

I love this memory from 2013. The kids shared a bedroom for their first 3.5 years of their lives. We had four bedrooms, so we turned their nursery into the guest bedroom, and then they each got the remaining rooms.

Hadley hugged Hayden goodnight and said, “See you next time!” before going to her own room the first night.

Weekly Recap:

I had a couple of posts this week:

What are your weekend plans? I’m sure we’ll celebrate Trav on Father’s Day, and I hope to start crossing some things off my summer “to do” list and maybe get in a little pool time.

I hope to have another Summer Sunday post this weekend too.

Thanks for reading,

Prime Purchases

Hello and happy Monday!

Well, just like the first Friday of summer (for me) “hits” different, so does the first Monday of summer break!!

Did you catch my “Summer Sunday” post yesterday? I’m going to try to write a few of those kinds of posts over the next couple of months.

Well, we’re already into June, so with it being the first Monday of the month, Tanya is hosting the Prime Purchases link up.

Like always, I had a little bit of everything this month.

Here are my purchases this month:

While these are my “tried and true” under eye patches, when Jen shared this brand, I thought I’d give them a try.

…and I love them just a much. I put the jar in the fridge, and use two every morning. Like my morning cup of coffee, I look forward to the eye patches every morning too. I’m almost out, and I think I might try the pink “caffeine” ones next.

The kids (and Trav) got me a new Kindle for Mother’s Day. It’s bigger than my previous one, so I needed a new cover for it.

Last month, I needed a new mitt for my sunless tanner…

…this month I needed more sunless tanner! I love this stuff. Hadley has used it too before the cotillion dances. It’s so natural looking and gives you a subtle tan.

I can’t remember who shared it on Insta, but apparently, I’m at the age where if something has “retinol” in it, I will try it! This eye stick has now been added into my skincare routine! Not sure the long term results, but it’s easy to add it into my beauty routine.

Travis ordered these athletic shorts for Hayden, and they fit him perfectly.

Jen and Stephanie (@betterwithchardonnay) both shared this over-sized t-shirt, and I immediately added it to my cart. I sized up one to wear it with leggings, but my true size probably would have worked as well. It comes in so many colors!

Well, I already feel a bit accomplished this summer. I’ve created my “to do” list for the summer which is basically organizing the little spaces in my house that accumulate throughout the school year.

I ordered this organizer for my skincare stuff, and took the time to go through three different bins that I have in my bathroom. I put my most used products in this organizer, and then my secondary items in a bin under my sink. I was able to get rid of a larger organizer and a smaller one too. It felt good to “purge” some things that had been piling up.

So those are my purchases this month. What have you been “Priming” lately?

Let’s Look

Hello and happy Wednesday!

I had to double check the calendar that today is actually the second Wednesday of the month.

I’m linking up with Shay and Erika for Let’s Look.

So far this year this year, we’ve looked at:

  • How we clean our closets in January
  • Little things we do every single day in February
  • What’s in our grocery cart in March
  • Our daily quiet time/prayer time in April.

This month’s topic is let’s lookour summer closet staples.

Sandals:

After spring break, as long as the sun is out (no matter the temp!), I’m probably wearing sandals.

These Birks continue to be my fave! I bought them two summers ago, and they continue to be the first sandal I turn to time and time again.

I have some faves from Amazon too.

The rose gold double buckle sandals are another “go to” pair for me. Hadley has them in white.

The pink comfort slides I mostly wear when it’s raining, to the pool, or out in the yard.

These gold sandals are perfect to wear with dresses and easy to pack.

*I did size up one size on all three of these.

If you need dressier sandal, I bought these two years ago, and they are comfy for a heel. (I went up half a size on these.)

I wore them to the Kentucky Oaks last Friday.

Last week, I was at Target, and saw these strappy sandals. I have a pair that I got from Amazon a couple of years ago, and I love them, but they aren’t in stock anymore. These are just like them, so I snagged them right up, and was excited for the price! (20% off right now, and just under $11) I’ve worn them twice this week, and they pass the “teacher test” for footwear.

Light weight sets, dresses, and rompers:

SSYS continues to be a favorite place of mine to shop. Their crepe two piece set from last summer is perfect. You can wear the top or shorts with other pieces, the fabric is so light, and it’s an easy “throw on and go” set.

Last week, they released the spring version, and I can’t wait for it to get here. I think the price on this is a little higher, but I know I will wear it so much.

Dresses are easy to wear in the hot days of summer. A couple of years ago, I made one of our hall closets, my dress closet. That’s how many dresses I have and love.

While I’m still not “sold” that a romper is my most flattering look, I did get this one last summer, and wore it quite a bit.

Belt bags:

As you can tell from the pics above, this belt bag/cross body purse was one of my faves for being out and about in the summer.

I also love this one too, and have had it for a couple of years.

Leggings and tanks:

Again, SSYS has many of my favorite tanks and leggings, but I do have some favorite leggings and tanks from Amazon too.

Hat:

I often wear a ball cap in the summer, but this hat from Nordstrom is one of my faves.

I bought it in 2020, so it doesn’t seem to be in stock, but this one and this one look pretty similar!

I even take it with me on vacation.

This hat or visor are usually in my pool bag.

Swimsuits:

I have a couple of favorite swimsuits from Amazon. This one shoulder was new this year for fall break, and I LOVE it. I also still turn to this swimsuit (I have two patterns) that I’ve had for three years. Both come in so many colors and patterns.

Cover ups:

These three swim cover ups continue to be my faves:

My absolute favorite is this blue one that I also have in navy. The other two are a little thicker and longer, but also great.

Shorts:

I honestly don’t wear a ton of shorts in the summer, but I do have a couple of denim pairs, and I turn to this black pair from SSYS time and time again. I think SSYS is sharing this year’s version of the shorts next week.

So those are my summer closet staples.

Once I’m out of school, I’m typically in my pjs, athleisure, or a swimsuit/cover up. Oh…I can’t wait for summer days…and to be tan again!

Prime Purchases

Hello and happy Monday!

How was your weekend? We had a good one…mostly centered around the Kentucky Oaks and Derby festivities taking place…more on that later in the weel.

Today, I’m linking up with Tanya to share about my Amazon purchases this month.

Here are my purchases this month:

Well, this jacket was actually purchased last month before our trip to Washington, DC, but I wanted to wear it before sharing. I have a longer rain coat from Target that I’ve had for years, but for our trip, I wanted a light-weight jacket that was waterproof to wear with pants/jeans.

This one is cute, and I like that it has the drawstring to cinch at the waist if you want.

After we finished putting Hadley’s cabinet together, I thought a candle would be cute to add a little glow to her room. We only used one from this three pack, but it’s been a good touch to her room, and the remote comes in handy.

We all like this Core Power protein shake, so Travis bought two packs of the chocolate because Amazon had a better price than Kroger.

I saw Tina (@to_mimishousewego) share this scrub stick for black heads/pores, and I thought it would be good for the kids to try. Hayden’s been using it a bit, and anything to get him to take care of his skin is a win in my book.

When I got my pedicure a few weeks ago, I chose Arigato from Tokyo. Thankfully, my pedicures tend to last a while, but I wanted to have it in case I needed to touch up my pedicure which I just did over the weekend.

I’m still using this sunless tanner (Hadley too) that I’ve been using for almost two years…

…but I bought a new mitt for application.

I misplaced a pair of my sunglasses, and I thought this pair was cute. I’ve worn them a few times, and Hadley approves! They are currently 50% off on a lightning deal.

Admittedly, I have quite a few purses, but they are mostly cross body or clutches. I know how it is at Oaks trying to navigate crowds, holding on to things like the racing form or a drink, so I wanted a purse that was still small, but that I could put on my wrist if need be.

This one is pretty, is super soft, and big enough to hold just what I need.

(FYI- I bought these heels two years ago, and they are pretty comfy. I did size up a half size)

So those are my purchases this month…per usual, a little bit of everything!

Prime Purchases

Hello and happy Monday!

To me, there’s nothing better than a Monday with no school!

Also, as a teacher, I’m always grateful that our spring break falls on April Fool’s Day. No one wants to be in a school full of high schoolers pulling pranks…Well, that’s actually a typical day for us sometimes. haha

Did you catch my Saturday post? I didn’t publish it until Saturday morning.

How was your Easter? Ours was really good. It was a little more simple this year, but we dyed Easter eggs and enjoyed Easter service at our church.

Today, I’m linking up to Tanya to share my Prime Purchases of the month.

I saw this meme, and it made me laugh.

Really, this post is mostly brought to you because of Easter basket items and me getting a new phone.

A couple of weeks ago I got a new phone, and while I walked into T-Mobile saying I wouldn’t be talked into an iPhone 15, I walked out of T-Mobile with an iPhone 15. My biggest hesitation was knowing I’d need new chargers, but the deal was too good to pass up with my phone trade in.

Of course, the phone came with a charger, but I went ahead and ordered a new charger (2 pack) for the car.

…and for school.

I had a wireless charger years ago, and as soon as I put my pop socket on, I realized I couldn’t use the charger anymore. That being said, I prefer to place my phone face down at night, so it’s not glowing off and on, and this charger wouldn’t really work for that. So, this is my school charger which I prefer because then I can usually see texts coming in.

I’m loving my new phone case. I definitely need a way to grip my phone, but didn’t want to use a pop socket. This case has worked really well, and I like the design.

Since I was getting the kids mini portable chargers for their Easter baskets, I decided to go ahead and get one for myself as well. I typically have my old one in my purse, especially during long volleyball tournaments or track meets. I believe it still works for my new phone, but I like this one because it’s smaller and shows the percentage.

Thankfully, my new phone holds a charge quite a bit longer than my old one, but it’s nice to have options.

This is the portable charger I got for the kids, but it seems to be out of stock right now.

The number of phone chargers in this post is obnoxious, and I’m sorry for that. 😆

Moving on to other Easter basket items. Both kids got these compressed facial sponges in their baskets. I’m all about promoting face washing…at the least!

Hayden is kind of past wearing PJ shorts, but I got him this gray pair of Hanes cotton shorts to lounge around in.

As you know, Hadley loves all things skin care. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Elf, so I thought she’d like to try the Holy Hydration kit.

Hayden’s microphone on his gaming headset broke recently, so I thought Easter would be a good time to get him a new one.

I already have this pullover in black, and it’s one of my favorites. That being said, when I wear it, I immediately take it off when I get home because of Homer’s shedding. So, I wanted another neutral color to wear that I don’t have to take off as soon as I come home. I’m tempted to buy the purple color too, but it doesn’t ship for a month! I’m going to keep my eye out though.

This tunic style t-shirt is perfect for me in the spring. Once I clean out my closet a bit, I might buy it in another color. It’s the perfect staple.

Tell me it’s track season without telling me it’s track season.

Travis needed a stopwatch to time the kids’ workouts, so he ordered this one. No, he’s not their middle school coach, why do you ask? haha

FYI I have a few of these items in Instagram highlights too. I might add others to it when I have time.

What about you purchased lately?

Prime Purchases

Hello and happy Monday!

How was your weekend? Ours was pretty good. We didn’t have a ton going on, so I savored that. Moving forward, I don’t know the next free weekend we have.

Well, it’s the first Monday of the month, so Tanya is hosting her Prime Purchases link up. As always, I have plenty to share.

Here are my purchases for the month:

Well, Hayden is giving me grief. After one of Hadley’s volleyball tournaments where we could bring drinks in (that’s a rarity) as long as they were in a water bottle or tumbler, I picked up this one for my Diet Cokes. Hayden is giving me a hard time because this means I have a tumbler for my water, my coffee, and now my Diet Coke. haha

(I like to keep my drinks/drink ware separated.)

In my defense, you can’t beat the price, it comes in a variety of colors, and I’ve purchased other Civago products. I’ve used it many times, and I really like it.

For Hadley’s Valentine’s Day present, I ordered her a new Stanley. She got one for Christmas from my brother’s family, but then lost it at a volleyball tournament….which is very unlike her.

And…one of Hayden’s Valentine’s Day presents was this two pack of Gatorade bottles. Unfortunately, he does have a habit of misplacing his water bottles.

On a whim, after the Chiefs Super Bowl win, I got Hayden this Sherpa blanket as another Valentine’s Day present. It’s so soft and cozy. He loves it and sleeps with it every night.

Looks like there are a variety of teams to choose from.

I have a couple of pairs of cozy socks, but wanted a pack of long socks to wear around the house that aren’t fuzzy. I loved the color combo of this pack.

I bought this pack of “to do” lists because I feel like I’m using so many sticky notes at school. I’d rather have a bigger piece of paper to write my daily to do lists on. I love this variety pack and that you can write the day and month on it too.

I shared these bunnies on Friday. They are so cute.

They’ve been a fun addition to my Easter decor.

Not sure how many are in need of a “Hawaiian” shirt, but this is the one that I got Hayden for the Malibu Mingle cotillion dance.

I knew he wouldn’t wear one with lots of bright colors, so I thought this one would be on theme but subtle.

A few years ago, I bought a light weight winter coat from Walmart, and I wear it often. This one is even a bit lighter and perfect for when I don’t need a heavy coat, but still need something. It’s actually been perfect for the volleyball tournaments when we’ve been in drafty gyms and convention centers. It comes in a variety of colors, and I got my regular size large.

I shared all about Hadley’s “Room Refresh” a few weeks ago, and we found so many great things via Amazon. Her mirrors, chair, bedside tables, and makeup organizer are all Amazon purchases over the past few months.

Everything is linked at the end of that post…

…except for the white vase I got her for Valentine’s Day for her Lego flowers. It looks like the only one available now is blue, but here’s a similar white vase.

Just FYI – I’m going to try sharing links on Instagram a bit more, and I’ve started an Amazon highlight my Show Me and Sweet Tea Instagram page.

I hope you have a great start to your week.

Happy shopping!
