Hello and happy (Election day!) Tuesday!
Today’s post is continuing on with the November Gratitude Challenge.

Day 5 is…a fear you are tackling or have overcome.
Choking has been my biggest fear since I choked a couple of years ago. I swear, I didn’t think this much about choking when they kids were little and I had to cut their food up into little bites.
On fall break two years ago, I choked on a huge bite of lobster (bougie, I know!), and I tried to swallow a few times, and it just wasn’t going down. I immediately stood up and looked at Travis and then my friend immediately knew I needed help. One Heimlich Maneuver later, and the lobster flew right out…almost comical. haha…but not the choking part.
Any time I hear someone coughing while eating, I worry that they are choking. Of course, Hayden likes to “fake me out” which I certainly don’t appreciate.
So, my fear of choking is definitely a fear that I’m trying to overcome.
What’s a fear that you have or have previously had?
Have a great day,

Oh that is a scary experience; I choked pretty bad when I was in middle (or maybe high school?). I was on vacation with my father, step-mother and older sister and I can still remember sitting outside the trailer on that picnic table thinking I was going to die as my father and step-mother bickered over what to do once they realized I was choking– luckily I was able to work the piece of food out on my own but it was a long time before I ate steak again. The fear does fade with time but anytime I struggle to swallow even the littlest bit now choking is at the forefront of my mind.

That’s scary! I’m sure so many have had a choking experience but it’s so scary to think about…or what if someone is alone? These are the things I worry about 🤣

That is so scary! My friend once knew someone get up from the table while choking and then had no one to help, so I do know to stay around people.

Oh my gosh! That’s so scary
Also – after I finished that post I wondered what it has to do with gratitude. I guess I’m grateful to be working through it? Haha

Oh Jen this is one of my greatest fears too after having to save Diana two times and Eva once- so my rule with them is to always have a drink with them during meals and to chew carefully
