Hello and happy Monday!
How was your weekend? Overall, ours was good. Travis worked, the kids were busy, and I ran some errands and completed some things on my “to do” list including resting to get past my sinus infection and continue reading The Calamity Club.
Anyway, it’s the second Monday of the month, so I’m co-hosting the Share Our Lives link up with some of my favorite bloggers.

This month’s topic is…I wish I had known…(sooner?)
Oh…this sounds like a “deep” topic…haha
Here are a few things that came to mind that I guess I know now, but I wish I’d known in my younger years:
- It’s cliche, but of course I wish I would have known how quickly the time goes by while raising kids. I swear I was just swaddling them, and now they are drivers with their own lives (in some regards)…
- One thing I’ve learned through the years that I wish I’d known sooner is that other people’s opinions don’t matter, and you have to do what’s best for you.
- I wish I had known to start a skincare regimen sooner!
- There’s always a coupon or a sale, so it’s ok to wait to buy certain items.
- Boundaries are good.
- Don’t compare yourself to others.
- Things happen for a reason.
- Some relationships are for a reason, some a season, and some are forever.
- “No” is a complete sentence.
- Not to end on a negative note, but one thing I’m glad I didn’t know when I started teaching 25 years ago was how much education would change through the years. If I had, maybe I wouldn’t have lasted this long?! When I started teaching, I didn’t do 16+ hours of safety training during the summer, I didn’t have to document every conversation in the PLP, I didn’t have to attend so many meetings, I didn’t have to have as much professional development, I didn’t have to keep up with multiple online platforms…and the list goes on and on. Thankfully, I enjoy teaching teenagers, and while some things are different, teaching is still something I enjoy, and I appreciate the students who want to learn…and even those who don’t. haha.
