Merry Christmas 2024

I just wanted to stop by and quickly say….

Thanks to all of you who read and comment on my posts. It’s been fun getting to “know” some of my readers, and I always appreciate the kind comments.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

From my family to yours…

…we’re wishing you a happy and healthy holiday season.

I know the Christmas season can be a difficult time for some. Even for those who “have it all” or “have it all together,” it can be a stressful time. I know a few people spending their first Christmas without a loved one, and my heart aches for them.

I hope to be back later in the week to share my favorites posts of the year.

Again, Merry Christmas,

Friday Favorites {#188}

Hello and happy Friday!

How was your week? Ours was a good one, and we’ve started out break just as busy as when we are in school. Hayden has had basketball, Hadley has had volleyball, and we’re trying to squeeze in last minute holiday fun before we run out of time to do so!

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

This is Friday Favorites: Festive Edition!

Here are some favorites from the week:

This is my first ever Pink Lily purchase…how cute is Hadley’s “Merry” sweatshirt?

Over the weekend, my Life in Lilac candle arrived. The gold Holiday Dreams candle is so pretty and festive.

Hadley and friends started off break having the best afternoon on Wednesday. There are close to twenty girls who are all really good friends. One of the moms is a SAINT and organized an afternoon with pizza for lunch, a Secret Santa gift exchange, and then ice skating!

What a sweet group of girls!

They had the best afternoon.

Hadley and I baked our last batch of Christmas cookies yesterday afternoon. Once she got home from volleyball, we made Chocolate Peppermint Crinkle cookies.

They turned out perfectly.

(Hayden and Travis were in Louisville for most of the day at the UK/UL basketball practice before the big rivalry game last night.)

This sweet memory from 2014 popped up…Hayden told me he was wrapping gifts for kids who weren’t getting lots of presents. Such a sweet sentiment…

…and yesterday afternoon, we participated in Operation Secret Santa. We’d never done this before, but you sign up for a shift to shop for kids from the donated items and then deliver the presents.

No photo evidence, but Travis and Hayden were there too; they shopped for two of our five families before Hayden headed to basketball practice.

Let me tell you who is a really great shopper: Hadley White!

She was so good about prioritizing what each kid should receive and keeping it all organized.

We’ll deliver to the five families today.

Last night, after the Kentucky game was over, we *finally* made it to the horse park for Southern Lights.

I think this is the 19th year that we’ve gone to see the lights.

Social Media Faves:

Tis the season for all things festive…

This bookshelf looks right up my alley!

Y’all, this is what my Instagram search looks like. I get sucked into cookie decorating videos…haha.

That being said, I stumbled upon “The Folding Lady” (@thefoldinglady) on Instagram, and her reels are mesmerizing. Check her out!

Favorite Mom Meme:

Relatable….and now I’m sharing my Christmas cards on the blog (see below) before friends and family get them in the mail. I’m just getting it done however I can.

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts from the week:

Merry Christmas!

I feel like a theme this year, but especially these past couple of months, has been living day to day and doing my best to get accomplished whatever I can whenever I have time to do so.

Apparently, that “lifestyle” is now applying to my Christmas cards…that finally arrived…yesterday. (*sigh*)

So, I will be working on getting those out today…and I guess most will receive them by December 26. It’s the thought that counts, right?

That being said,

Merry Christmas…

from my family to yours…

I know the holidays aren’t joyous for all. My thoughts and prayers are with those who are sad, sick, anxious, and/or struggling this season.

I have some posts planned for next week, so see you then!

As always, thank you for reading…and Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas!

Hello!

With only a couple of days left until Christmas, I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas.

The past few years, I’ve sent two cards out because there are so many cute options. Also, I love sending them, but I hate waiting for them to arrive. So, I’m able to start addressing the ones from Walgreens while waiting on my Shutterfly order.

This blog (and the readers) bring me a lot of joy! I appreciate all of the comments and readers I’ve gotten to know in this Show Me and Sweet Tea space.

My hope is that everyone has a Merry and Bright holiday season….

…with warm wishes for a wonderful 2023!

I know the holidays can be difficult for some. Even in the best of circumstances, this season can be overwhelming and filled with many other emotions. I know quite a few people who’ve lost a loved one recently, and I’ve certainly been thinking of them this holiday season.

December is filled with so many traditions, activities, parties, and more. I feel like the hectic pace makes the time pass by quicker than I’d like, but I try to enjoy this time the best I can with my family. I hope you are able to do the same as well.

I can’t let the Christmas season pass by without sharing my most favorite Christmas card that Travis and I have ever sent:

Christmas 2009 was pretty special!

I hope you have a wonderful and blessed holiday. Many bloggers take this time off, but I hope to have a few posts next week including some of my favorites: a blogging round up, the books I read this year, and a recap of 2022.

See you then.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays,

Merry Christmas!

Today, I’m keeping my thoughts (pretty) short, sweet and filled with gratitude. 2020 has been quite a year. It’s been a time for reflection, a time for tears, a time of worry, a time for prayers, a time of generosity, a time of unity, and a time of hope.

Even in the dark times of this year, the spirit of Christmas could be seen and felt through the generosity of others, through the sense of community, and through the unwavering hope for better days ahead.

When I started this blog a year and a half ago, I had no clue what to expect. I’ve “met” new friends, found comfort in writing, and become a part of a community I’d only known from the outside looking in.

Thank you for reading my posts, sharing your thoughts, and supporting me on this blogging journey.

Since I can’t send a card to everyone (geez, I barely got my cards out to anyone this year!), I’d like to share our Christmas card in a very 2020 way…virtually!

Happy Holidays:

Other favorite photos from our Christmas card shoot:

Beautiful weather right after Thanksgiving provided for the perfect day to bribe my kids with ice cream for nice clothes and smiles…

Awe…these kids of mine are getting so big!

A few more faves…

Homer wishes you a Merry Christmas too!

While I know it’s been a difficult year for most, and Christmas may not look the same as in years past, I’m hopeful for more lighter days than dark ahead in 2021!

Truly, thank you for being a part of this community.

From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
