Friday Favorites {#254}

Hello and happy Friday!

Wow! Where did this week go?…I really feel like April is flying by.

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Well, this week’s favorites are pretty short and sweet…

Stromboli is my first favorite! When Andrea shared this meal idea, I thought it would be a great option for last Saturday’s dinner! I’ve never purchased this dough before, but I let two loaves defrost, and then I followed her instructions and made two cheese and pepperoni strombolis.

They were a hit for dinner and then we had leftovers for lunch on Sunday. I will definitely be making these again and will try some different ingredients too.

After a little break, the kids are back to running. They had a meet on Tuesday night. Both of them are also running this weekend, so on Tuesday, they only ran one relay each. Hayden’s 4×800 team came in 1st and Hadley’s 4×200 team came in 4th. Great relays for both of them. Hadley’s calf is bothering her a bit, so hopefully that doesn’t turn into something more.

Really, we haven’t been up to much else, so today, I’m also taking a look back on Easter through the years…

Because having high schoolers makes me nostalgic…here’s a little…

…Easter edition:

The cherry blossoms at our church are always so pretty, and we’ve gotten Easter pics there for the last few years:

2024:

2023:

2022:

2021:

2020:

Of course, Easter 2020 looked a bit different for all of us. We were home, but we still dressed up for Easter brunch and a front yard egg hunt!

2019:

2018:

Easter egg hunt fun at Trav’s aunt’s house:

2017:

Well, we took the front porch pic and then Hayden told us he wasn’t feeling well. He ended up having a fever, so I stayed home with him while Trav and Hadley traveled to E-town for Easter with his family.

2016:

2015:

The first Easter in our current house…

2014:

I loved this dress that Hadley wore…and I love those little cheeks.

2013:

Too cool for school! The Easter Bunny left sun glasses and water bottles that year…haha

2012:

Really struggling to smile in 2012…haha!

2011:

Oh! They were on the move this year…into everything, and clearly not willing to both look at the camera at the same time!

2010:

First Easter …so tiny and so cute!

Favorite Mom Meme:

Uhhh…mine are the same age!

Weekly Recap:

I had a few posts this week!

I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend!

See you on Monday!

Hello and happy Friday!

Well, all good things must come to an end. Today is our last day of spring break. Of course, we have the weekend left, and I need it!

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week.

The first favorite is that we’re a week out from Trav’s surgery, and he’s doing great. He’d been having A-fib episodes, so we’re hoping the heart ablation will put those at bay. My friends were a huge help last Friday…from school pick up, track meet drop off, dinner and cookie deliveries, prayers, and texts, we felt the love and support.

Now, on to spring break…

This week, we spent a few days in one of our favorite places…Isle of Palms, SC (and the Charleston area). This vacation was only a “go” if Trav was feeling up to it, and it worked out for us to leave for SC on Monday.

We had friends who’d planned on staying in Charleston, so Hadley rode down with them last Saturday, so she’s had a couple of extra days of fun.

It was pretty blustery when we arrived on Monday afternoon, but by Tuesday, the sun was shining and it was less windy.

I’m sure I will do a more formal recap although with being there three full days, we didn’t do a ton and tried to relax as much as possible.

We’ve been to this area a few times through the years. The last time we were here was 2021, and it’s been great to be back.

Here are a few favorite pics from the week:

Coffee with a view.

Fun with friends:

…and family…

Favorite Mom Meme:

Turns out kids don’t pick up after themselves on vacation either 🤣

On this trip, the kids each had their own rooms and they definitely settled in like they were at home. Haha

They’ll help get everything picked up and tidy before we leave today.

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday:

We’ve visited Folly Beach/Isle of Palms/Charleston quite a times through the years. This pic from our first visit with the kids in 2011 will always be a fave. I actually have it in a little frame in the kids’ bathroom.

Weekly Recap:

I only had a couple of posts this week:

Share Our Lives:

Our monthly Share Our Lives link up is on Monday. This month’s topic is…creative outlets/free time. We’d love for you to link up with us and/or read our posts.

Well, while it did feel like a long wait for our spring break to arrive, now it’s mid-April with about six weeks of school left! I’m grateful for the weekend to get my suitcase unpacked, do laundry, meal plan and prep for the week ahead.

Thanks for reading,

Hello and happy Friday!

Well, we’ve made it to the finish line of the week, and now it’s time for spring break. I’ve mentioned before, but our break usually would have been this week. I’m not sure why our district pushed it a week, but let’s just say we’re all feeling it! The wheels have fallen off the (school) bus. haha

Anyway, as always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

Last Friday, Trav and Hayden headed to Indianapolis to watch UK play Tennessee.

They had good seats, and even though the CATS didn’t pull out a win, they still had a good time. Hayden’s text to me was that he was thankful they didn’t lose in the first round. He’s maturing!

While they were gone, I took Hadley to get her nails done, and then we went out to dinner. We got home in time to watch the game on TV.

On Saturday, we headed to Louisville for my niece’s bridal shower. Hadley hadn’t been to a bridal shower, and I hadn’t been to one in quite some time. She asked what we’d do there…

I was correct with my response…eat some food, chat, play a few games, watch her open presents, eat some cake and head home! It was a busy Saturday but a good one.

Our hall bathroom is officially gutted, and Travis and I need to finalize some decisions, so we went to Lowe’s on Sunday. I’m the worst at making these types of decisions. Nothing will paralyze me more than staring at paint and tile samples. haha

The same friend that helped me with Hadley’s room refresh gave us a few ideas which I appreciate.

It’s a new month, so I shared a few new book trackers to my Instagram page. Feel free to use them and don’t forget to tag me!

Not a favorite, but we ended up in the basement at 2:15 am Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Travis and I woke up to our phones going off alerting us of a tornado warning. Hadley woke up too, so we got Hayden up, coaxed Homer out of bed and took shelter.

We were down there for about 45 minutes staying updated, but definitely a favorite was no damage for us. That being said, we’ve gotten so much rain with more on the way today….and we were all exhausted yesterday.

Favorite Mom Meme:

This is so true…and really resonating during track season with about four minutes of turnaround time at home to get changed and to the meet in time for warm-ups.

Weekly Recap:

I had a couple of posts this week:

This meme made me laugh and I think this can be me this weekend, but…

…before the downtime, Travis is having surgery today. I’d appreciate the extra prayers for him today. We’re ready to get this procedure in the rear view mirror.

I have a few posts scheduled for next week, and I hope you enjoy your weekend.

Take care,

Friday Favorites {#251}

Hello and happy Friday!

How is it already Friday? I feel like this week flew by which is actually just what I needed. After a busy weekend last weekend, this upcoming one isn’t too over-scheduled!

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

Track is in full swing, and Hayden had a race in Bardstown, KY last Friday night. We left as soon as we could after school to make it in time. While Hayden didn’t have a PR, he ran a fast race and placed 8th overall. It was SO windy that I think the runners felt like the were running into the wind no matter which direction they rean. The first lap around the track, I didn’t even recognize him. He looks so much older all of the sudden!

After his race, we drove to Louisville for the night, and stayed at Trav’s mom’s house. Hadley had to be at volleyball in Louisville at 7:30 AM. Her team played well overall and made it to the gold bracket on Sunday.

While the early call time was brutal, she was finished playing around noon. We went out to lunch with Trav’s mom and sisters before heading back to Lex. Boomtown Kitchen was good…the spinach artichoke dip was delish…so good that I ordered the grilled cheese that had the dip on it as well. I had half for lunch and then half for dinner that night.

Saturday night, Hayden and a friend went to he NCAA basketball games that were at Rupp. He saw Auburn play Creighton and then Tennessee played UCLA.

They had some good seat, and Travis picked them up at halftime of the second game which was close to 11:00. I was in bed. haha

After Hadley’s games on Sunday, we tried “Swig” in Louisville. I’d heard of it, but didn’t know all the details. They have lots of soda mixes. I had the “Texas Tab” which is Dr. Pepper + vanilla + coconut cream. It was delish.

Hadley slept most of the ride home on Sunday. We were all beat. It was a long but good weekend of volleyball.

Tuesday was the first outdoor track meet of the season. The kids looked nice in their new school warm-ups…but we needed a bit more clothing to stay warm once the sun went down.

They both had a great first meet. Hadley had a PR in the 400m, and Hayden’s 4×800 relay team placed first.

I’m not much for body spray, but picked up this Sweetest Song scent when Hadley and I went to Bath and Body a couple of weeks ago. I keep it in my purse, and it’s been nice to have on hand if I feel like I need a refresh.

I’ve seen many influencers share Colleen Rothschild products, and when Jen Reed shared this tinted eye cream, I bought it. It’s reasonable priced, a little goes a long way, and I like the lightness of it. I’ve applied it after I finish up my make-up.

I had to order a few school supplies to get me through the rest of the school year, and these paper clips were just what I needed. How cute are they?

Speaking of cute, my new Easter towels from the Target dollar spot are super cute. I hope to put out the rest of my Easter decor (just a few things!) this weekend.

Yesterday was the opening day for baseball, and the Royals had their first game. Hayden has had this date “circled on the calendar” for quite some time. I hope the “boys in blue” have a better year than the outcome of yesterday’s game. Oh well…plenty of ball left in the season.

New Fave Influencer:

I’ve been following Athena (@lightandlifestyled) on Instagram for a few weeks, and she’s a fun one to follow. I love her day in the life reels and her outfits are too cute.

Favorite Recipe:

I tried this recipe this week and it was a 10/10 as they say. Bonus was that I had leftovers that I could take for lunch yesterday and today.

A few tweaks I made were:

  • I did two pounds of ground turkey because where does the ground turkey go when you cook it? I feel like a pound doesn’t amount to much. haha
  • I put the chopped zucchini in the skillet with the ground turkey for the last couple of minutes of sauteing.
  • I cooked some Trader Joe’s Jasmine rice and added that to the casserole dish when I added in the ground turkey and mixed everything together before the final amount of baking time.
  • Besides shredded Parm, I also added some shredded to Mozz to the top of the casserole too.

Enjoy!!

Favorite Mom Meme:

You know as soon as I sit down, someone says, “Moommm. Will you come here?!”

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday:

When a new season of Royals baseball starts, I always think of the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Winning the World Series in 2015 was so fun…and these kids were so little! Hopefully, they won’t have to wait too much longer for a World Series championship.

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts from the week:

Typically, this would be our final day before spring break…but we still have one week left! I’m not sure why our calendar is different this year, but check on your teacher friends who haven’t had spring break yet! We’re barely hanging on.

Friday Favorites {#250}

Hello and happy Friday!

How was your week? Ours was good with a little bit of everything in regards to school, kids’ practices and other activities. On Wednesday night, I was on the struggle bus and made myself go to bed at 9:30. My Apple watch applauded me yesterday morning with over eight hours of sleep. Apparently, I was tired. haha

I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

I’m changing up my Friday Favorites format this week.

Now that it’s officially spring, I’m sharing some of my favorite spring things from decorations to clothes to recipes…and more!

I always put out a few Easter touches for the month of April. I picked up these wooden bunnies last year, and they are so cute.

I found a perfect spot for them on my entry way table. The exact ones I bought last year aren’t available but these look very similar.

Two years ago, I was “influenced” by Tina (@to_mimishousewego) and shopped Ruffled Nest, ordering two of their wooden bunnies. It looks like the shop should re-open soon.

I also love these flocked bunnies that I got at Walmart last year. Looks like Walmart still has a variety of colors. (I feel like I need to order the blue one to add to my collection.)

I’m pretty neutral with my nail color, but I will switch it up from time to time fall, winter, and summer. Not in the spring though…I’m always wearing OPI’s Funny Bunny or Bubble Bath.

Amazon even has a “nude nail polish” bundle with my two faves.

I love an easy jacket, and my new one from Target has been perfect. I’ve worn it on walks or while out running errands. Yesterday, I wore it to school with my comfy Matilda Jane pants. I felt comfy, cute and put together.

I always love SSYS, but their fun spring floral print leggings are definitely a new fave. FYI- their March athleisure drop is Sunday, March 30th… 😉

These Old Navy “kick flare” leggings are definitely perfect for the spring months when it’s not yet shorts weather.

I have two pairs and I’ve already worn them quite a bit the past couple of weeks.

I’ve had this dress for almost four years, and I still wear it quite a few times every spring. There are so many colors options, and it’s a great staple for your closet.

I’ve shared this cardigan time and time again. I have it in three colors and wear them often! (As I type this, it’s an Amazon lightning deal!)

The cardigan has been perfect to wear with my SSYS Sophia set until the weather warms up.

I ordered this top last fall (in two colors!), and I can’t wait to wear it this spring. It’s the perfect light-weight for when the temps finally do rise, and it can be dressed up or down.

Yay! for the sunshine…and wearing my two favorite pairs of sunglasses. (Pair 1 and Pair 2 is a two pack)

I’ve shared these sandals time and time again. Hadley has them in white, and I love my rose gold pair. (I did size up from my regular size 9 to a 10) I’ve had them for almost four years, and I might just order a new pair for the summer since these are showing their age.

I’ve seen these sandals shared, and thought I’d give them a try. They are so cute and very comfy. They are also 25% off right now…and when shoes and clothing are out of my “norm,” I consult Hadley. She approved of these sandals.

Every season is candle season for me, but…I love switching to more “spring like” scents of lavender and lemon. Bath and Body Works along with Antique Candle Co. are where I buy most of my candles.

Trader Joe’s really shines in the spring/summer, and I’m always on the lookout for their Brazil Nut products and seasonal candles and stock up when I see them.

I try to always do a good job drinking water throughout the day, but once the weather warms up, I really step up my sipping! I’ve had this tumbler for over a year and a half, and I take it with me wherever I go. I just ordered another one yesterday because most colors are currently $21 rather than the regular $30 price! #rundontwalk!

I wouldn’t get all my water intake in if it wasn’t for these Crystal Light packets…I love the grape flavor!

Nothing says “spring” like flowers! Flowers are my weakness…especially when I’m shopping at Trader Joe’s.

I made this Ham and Peas Tortellini recipe last week, and it was a hit. While pasta isn’t always thought of as a spring food, it was a quick dinner for a weeknight.

Asparagus fries are a frequent request from my kids during the spring and summer months. I tend to make these while Trav is grilling us something for dinner. They are easy and delish.

I often make the Betty Crocker in a box pasta salad as a quick weeknight side dish, but if I have more time, I make this pasta salad, and it’s sooo good.

Last but not least, of course a couple of my spring favorites include sunshine and going for a walk. It’s nice to get some fresh air and get some steps in. I can’t say that I walk much in the summer when it’s hot out, so I try to maximize my time in the spring.

Friday Favorites {#249}

Hello and happy Friday!

I hope you’ve had a great week. Ours was good with the beautiful weather, and we seemed to have some downtime in the evenings which was appreciated!

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week…

Starting with this meme that made me laugh…and it definitely relatable!

It’s very rare that I actually go into Target as I often do Target pick-up. Last Saturday, Hadley and I ran some errands, and she needed a few things. The dollar spot immediately stopped me in my tracks. I saw these neutral ric rac place mats and thought they’d be just what I needed under our jute place mats. I was a bit behind, and just put away my winter dishes, and got back out my everyday dishes. These cute floral ones are almost twenty years old! They were on our wedding registry at Pier One. Man, I miss Pier One!

I was “influenced” and ordered this All in Motion “airy” fabric zip up jacket. For all the clothes I have, I do lack in light weight jackets. When I got it, it was on sale for $25, but I also think it’s worth the $35 price tag.

The fabric is so soft, and I like that it cinches at the waist.

Well, I’ve also been “influenced” by Hadley. She occasionally drinks an Alani, and that’s had me taking a few sips. I think she’s tried most of the flavors, but now it’s my turn. I took one to school this week, and the “orange kiss” flavor is good.

The kids’ track photos came in, and they are so good! I really appreciate the smiles!

I’d joked with the track coach that if they got a decent pic together, they’d be off the hook for Mother’s Day! They did get a couple of pics together, and this one is my fave.

My girl…right before her summer job interview on Wednesday. Not sure that I’ll look back and remember that this photo was right before that moment, but I’m sharing it anyway.

I’ve been loving my new candles from Antique Candle Co. My order arrived a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve been burning Almond Vanilla, and it’s so good.

I ordered two candles and got one free. These will last me the next couple of months. I’ve burned a bit of the lavender vanilla, and it’s so great for spring. Sweet lemon will be great for spring and summer.

I saw this pic on Instagram and X….twin fillies! Rare and precious! (FYI -these aren’t at Trav’s farm.)

Favorite Mom Meme:

Both my kids have had two rounds of braces, and let’s just say if there’s ever a third round, that’s on them!

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday:

2015 was such a cute year!

Onion ring entertainment at dinner…

…and sweet little drawings…and booster seats!

St. Patrick’s Day:

Well, this weekend, I’ll make my traditional corned beef, cabbage, and Irish soda bread! We can’t wait.

Here are the recipes if you need an easy and delicious meal to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

Hello and happy Friday!

How was your week? We had a good one with a couple of evenings with nothing on the agenda! What is this life?!

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

Hadley kicked off the weekend at a friend’s birthday party. Then, we all had an early wake-up call on Saturday morning for her volleyball tournament.

Our team mom and her daughter made these cute clothes pins that girls could use to clip on other players’ bags in the tournament. I thought this was such a cute idea and a great way to spread positivity.

The Kendrick Lamar one made me chuckle.

One of the dads brought his camera and took some awesome pics. I just love watching Hadley play, and these photos are priceless.

They are a sweet team who have fun playing together. They won their bracket on Sunday, so they ended the weekend on a high note.

On Saturday, Hayden went to the UK basketball game, and he had some time on the court before the game. So fun!

Remember my banana situation from last week?

While I was able to give a few bundles away, I did save one to make chocolate chip banana bread which was a nice mid-week treat.

Yesterday was a family affair in Louisville supporting Hadley at the indoor state meet. She qualified to run the 400m race, and we were there to cheer her on. She was one of three freshmen to qualify, and I know she was nervous. She ran a 2 second PR and had a smile on her face afterwards. We were so proud of her!

Yesterday, I shared all about what I’ve been wearing lately, and I love my new SSYS leggings.

I added a few new book trackers to my Instagram highlight. I really enjoy making those! If you use them, feel free to tag me. I’d love to see what you’re reading.

Favorite Recipe:

I tried a new dinner recipe this week: Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas…This recipe made enough for us to have them for dinner two nights! They were delish.

Favorite Mom Meme:

OMG! This is Hadley! After I shower, I can’t wait to put on my PJs…and she just sits around in her robe with her hair in a towel while scrolling her phone. It drives me crazy. haha

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts from the week in case you missed one:

Share Our Lives:

We have our monthly Share Our Lives link up on Monday. This month’s topic is…day in the life…an average day. We’d love to have you join us.

Y’all…do you know what I have going on this weekend? Absolutely nothing! There are no kids’ activities and nothing else really on our schedule either. I’d love sleep in, binge watch a favorite show and get caught up with my life…haha! I might just have the time to do that this weekend.

Friday Favorites {#247} – February Monthly Moments

Hello and happy Friday!

How was your week? I hope it was a good one!

Well, this week felt like spring which I think helped it be a good week overall. Something about the sun shining really helped my mood. haha

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

…to share my…

In January, I started this monthly post, capturing the moments from the month, both big and small.

Here’s a look at what we were up to in February.

1. Snow Days:

Well, the snow days continued in February, but the weather wasn’t as bad as it was in January.

We had three NTI days this month, two of which were last week.

While we’ve had quite the winter, and I do love the snow, this week, especially has made me excited for spring.

2. Valentine’s Day

While we don’t go all out for Valentine’s Day, I still send family a card from the kids.

It was nice that Valentine’s Day was on a Friday as we just had some time at home. I picked up a few things for the kids, and Travis and I exchanged cards.

3. Kids’ Activities

The kids’ activities kicked into full gear in February. We started the month in Gatlinburg, TN for Hadley’s volleyballl tournament, and then her team also played in a tournament in Louisville last weekend.

The kids each had a track meet in February as well. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the high school track season, but the couple of indoor meets we’ve been to have been fun. Just like when the kids were 6th graders, being a freshman is a bit of an adjustment.

I remember going to track meets when the kids were in 6th grade and thinking the 8th graders look so old. Well, now I’m comparing them as ninth graders to junior/senior runners. Wow! That being said, I know we’ll blink and they’ll be the senior runners.

4. Chiefs

Well, our KC Chiefs didn’t come out on top during the Super Bowl game, but I love getting together with my brother’s family. The cookie cake was delish, win or lose!

5. Fun with Friends

The kids have had fun with friends this month.

Hadley likes to get together with friends to do their school work on NTI days. One day, after I picked them up, Hadley needed to do a few strides at the track to break in her new spikes. The girls cheered her on.

Hadley went to a Galentines party that one of her friends hosted. She had a great time.

A couple of weeks ago, we got together with friends to hang out at a pizza place and watch the Kentucky basketball game. It was so nice hanging out for a bit.

And…

February did have some lows. Mid-month, I had a sinus infection, and then last week Hayden had the flu. Thankfully, we’re both feeling much better.

Weekly Recap:

Lots of link ups this week!

This was a fun look back on February. Up next…March!

Have a great weekend!

Friday Favorites {#246}

Hello and happy Friday!

Well, after a somewhat consistent couple of weeks, this week was an odd one. We had no school Monday for Presidents’ Day, went to school on Tuesday, and then we had NTI days due to snow and cold temps Wednesday and Thursday. As I type this, my district said they’d make the call for today this morning. Besides the wacky school week, Hayden has had the flu! He’s doing better now, but he was pretty sick.

As always, I’m linking up with Erika and Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

Last Friday was Valentine’s Day.

The kids had practice after school, but when they got home, I had a couple of gifts for them. They both got a few odds and ends, but I bought Hayden a quarter zip from Good Good Golf, and Hadley’s main gift was one of these wristlets from Lululemon. They are all the rage with teen girls right now.

I got Trav a card and chocolates, and he gave me a card and some chocolate covered strawberries.

I had to go to Kroger for my prescription, so while I was there I got the kids some candy, their favorite drinks, and a couple of smaller items like Chapstick. I picked up some cupcakes for dessert.

Anyway, it was a low-key evening, but fun to celebrate a bit.

We really didn’t have much going on last weekend which was perfect timing because I was getting over a sinus infection.

A couple of months ago, we were out with friends at a new pizza place in town. We spotted the private room they had and asked about it. We looked ahead at the UK basketball schedule, and booked the room for last Saturday. The fire was going, there were a few TV’s, serve yourself soft drinks, and we had our own waitress. So, we ordered apps, pizza, and drinks throughout the night. For the room, you had to spend $500. We spent a bit more than that, but we divided it among eight families. So, it was just a fun way to get together and watch a basketball game.

On Monday, since we were off of school, and everyone was still healthy, the kids and I ran some errands and then stopped for lunch at Shake Shack. We were only out and about for a couple of hours, but it was nice doing something with them on a day off. As you know, we’ve had a ton of snow days, but we’re usually at home or Hadley will go to a friend’s house to do her school work. Anyway, it was just a nice afternoon.

I know it’s crazy the amount of snow days and NTI days we’ve had, but our winters aren’t usually this active. While I’m ready for spring, the snowfalls have been pretty and you never know what the next year might bring. We’ve had winters with only a couple inches of snow in the past.

Not a favorite but the NTI days saved me from using sick days to take care of Hayden. Also, the pediatrician’s office feels so odd at this age. Seeing the little kids compared to my teenage boy is bittersweet. We’ve gone to the same pediatrician the kids’ whole lives, and when he walked in to see Hayden, he said, “Well, who is this guy?” haha…I don’t think Hayden’s been there since last spring, so I’m sure he’s grown a bit.

Wednesday night Travis and Hadley went to the UK basketball game and had some great seats. I was receiving lots of texts and messages with people spotting them behind UK’s bench. haha

Last weekend, Hadley and I watched Sweet Home Alabama. That’s one of my favorite movies that I hadn’t seen in years, and it was on Hulu. Hadley really liked it.

Speaking of Reese Witherspoon, I also watched her new movie with Will Farrell, You’re Cordially Invited. One of my favorite comedians, Leanne Morgan is also in it. It’s a quirky and funny movie…but I’m glad it was included in my Prime membership, and I didn’t have to pay extra to watch it.

Favorite Meals:

I kept our dinners pretty simple including sheet pan nachos…

…and a new recipe I tried: Bubble Up Pizza Bake…I didn’t get a picture of it as I assembled it and Hadley baked it…but we all loved it. Per Hadley’s request, I actually might make it again next week and add sausage to the pepperoni.

Favorite Mom Meme:

Man, this is so true, but I also know that in less than two years, they can take themselves wherever they need to go!

Weekly Recap:

This week I had a couple of posts:

I hope you have a great weekend! Next week, our temps are on the rise, so maybe we’ll get back to some kind of normalcy!

Hello and happy Friday…and happy Valentine’s Day!

How was your week? Ours was odd with a snow day on Tuesday. That meant that Wednesday felt like a Monday again! And, I’m still battling my cold which I think is now officially a sinus infection. I’m hoping this is the end of the sickness at my house!

As always, I’m linking up with Erika and Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week.

On Saturday, Hayden had his second indoor mile race of the season, and he ran a PR of 4:47.

While Hayden was running, Hadley was playing in a sand volleyball tournament with her friends.

Last Thursday, I (finally) put out a few Valentine’s Day decorations. My Valentine’s Day decor doesn’t really change from year to year, but this little heart vase and flowers were a cute addition to my kitchen island tray. The Hershey Kisses don’t last very long!

On Sunday, Hadley and about ten friends had a Galentine’s Day party. One of her friends hosted and was sweet to ask her to come.

They had lots of fun hanging out, having a few snacks and making their own floral bouquets.

Sunday evening, we went to my brother’s house for the Super Bowl. Obviously, the outcome wasn’t a favorite, but we’re lucky to say it’s a tradition to watch the Chiefs in the Super Bowl these past few years.

Win or lose, getting a cookie cake is a favorite tradition too.

All smiles…before the game! haha

My mom gave me this belated birthday card. My favorite ladies!

…and a belated birthday gift. She has this butter dish from Crate and Barrel. I thought it was neat and pretty, so she gave me one too!
