Friday Favorites {#187}

Hello and happy Friday!

This was our last full week before break, but we still have a couple of days next week. It’s really been messing with me that break doesn’t start after school today!

As always, I’m linking up with Erika and Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

We tried a new pizza place last Friday night before heading to my school’s basketball game. The pizza was really good, and the kids had fun playing a couple of rounds of skee ball before we headed to the game.

Last Saturday, Hayden had his final cross country race of club season in Louisville. We were thankful the rain held off until right after the race, but I’ve never seen a race with so many runners. Hayden had a pretty good race considering there were over 450 runners.

Now, Hayden has a couple weeks of rest before basketball and indoor track start. Out of curiosity, I asked Hayden how many miles he ran in 2023, and he said 930! He’s on an app with other runners (kind of like social media for runners, I guess) where they track their mileage and encourage each other.

Anyway, we’re proud of all that he’s accomplished these past few months.

Then, I “raced” back to Lexington to help Hadley get ready for cotillion.

Hayden and Travis got home with about thirty minutes to spare as Hayden was going to cotillion too. While I don’t think cotillion was Hayden’s favorite activity of the week, I sure loved seeing the kids dressed up and looking nice.

(Also, Travis is the real MVP driving all over town finding clothes that fit Hayden last week! haha)

This dance was a more formal dance, and the theme was “Glitter and Gold Gala.”

We went to a friend’s house beforehand, so the girls could finish getting ready together. Then, most of the 8th graders from the kids’ school met up at a restaurant before the dance. The kids had a room to themselves, and they ate and hung out before the dance. The parents hung out for a bit too before heading home (and then back to pick the kids up at 10:30!) Saturday was a long day and a late night for all, but we enjoyed it.

On Sunday, Hadley and I baked some cookies.

Per tradition, we made Peanut Butter Blossoms, and we tried our hand at Cornflake Wreaths too. They were both delish. I think we might make the peanut butter cookies again because they didn’t last long at our house. This weekend, we might make them and the Chocolate Crinkle cookies we usually make.

Do you like my new mug? Landyn had a few seasonal things for sale, and I couldn’t resist.

Favorite Kid Quote:

Hadley was trying to persuade me about something, and I told her I would talk to Travis. She said, “Mom, everybody knows that moms are the man of the house” 😆 haha! #whereisthelie

Favorite Mom Meme:

LOL

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday:

Oh my. Look at these cuties by the tree in 2010. I loved those little jammies…

…they had their names on their bottoms!

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts from the week, including a couple of fun linkups and a stroll down memory lane:

What are your weekend plans? We have some holiday fun and basketball on tap. Thankfully, I don’t have to get up early tomorrow, and I’m so excited about that.

See you back here on Monday!

Hello and happy Friday!

TGIF! How was your week? We had a good one, and I feel like it went by pretty quickly.

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are a few favorite from the week:

I mentioned in Monday’s post that Travis and Hayden were in Tallahassee over the weekend for an AAU race. Last week, Travis kept saying, “Looks like it’s going to be rainy in Florida.” Well, “rainy” was an understatement. It rained the entire time they were there, and Hayden ran his race in a monsoon.

Hadley and I tuned in via the computer…

He’s number 1197!

Travis did his best to send a few pics and videos…and the rain was just crazy.

Hayden was so happy because he earned his first “All American” medal by placing in the top 25. His team placed third.

When I picked them up from the airport on Sunday, he was all smiles…and as soon as he got in the car, he put his medal on. haha

While the guys were gone, Hadley and I had a slow Saturday morning. I watched the first episode of season 6 of The Crown.

Hadley worked on her science project, and we went to the mall.

Saturday night, we went to the Taylor Swift Eras tour movie. When I had checked the theaters earlier in the week, there weren’t any show times. We were so happy when we saw the movies times for Saturday.

Wow! I’m definitely not a “Swiftie,” but what a concert. We’ll definitely watch it again when it can be streamed.

On Tuesday, all of the freshmen went to a career expo put on by the district. I was one of the chaperones and had no clue we were riding nice buses to the expo. We were only gone a couple of hours, but it was a fun change of pace for the day.

Tis the season! My flat panel is festive this holiday season.

Sometimes when I’m shopping for others, I end up buying something for myself…but it’s usually because I stumble upon a good deal! I love this Pureology shampoo and conditioner, and they had this “Hydrate Holiday Gift Set” and it was a great deal.

Favorite Foods:

I tried two new recipes this week, and they were a hit!

We had Stuffed Bell Pepper casserole on Sunday with leftovers on Monday. It was a hit with the fam.

On Tuesday, I made Salsa Verde Chicken, and it was another favorite.

Favorite Mom Meme:

LOL….this!

Flashback Friday:

I probably share this every year, but Hadley was in the NICU for two weeks after the kids were born. The memory of her joining us at home and our first pic as a family of four always pops up in my Facebook memories.

I texted Hadley this pic on Monday (12/4), and she asked why she had to stay in the hospital…and then her reply was, “Well look at me now!”

Not Just a Mom:

We have our final Not Just a Mom link up of 2023 on Monday…and the topic is favorite books/series.

We’d love to have you join us!

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts from the week in case you missed one:

What are your weekend plans?

We have nothing tonight, so I hope to start wrapping presents! Saturday is action packed with a cross country race and cotillion.

See you back here on Monday!

Friday Favorites {#185]

Hello and happy Friday…and happy December 1st!

It felt odd not posting last Friday, but I’m back this week to link up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

I think I usually do some kind of Thanksgiving recap, but never got to it this week.

Last Wednesday, we traveled to KC to spend Thanksgiving with my family. On Thursday, I watched a bit of the parade, per tradition.

Then, we hung out at my mom’s house before heading to my dad’s cousin’s house for Thanksgiving (late afternoon) lunch.

She outdoes herself, and the tables always look so pretty. Per tradition, we have chocolate turkeys with our names on them. How fun!

We were able to get a family pic…

…and hang out with family for a while. Unfortunately, we had to leave a bit early because Travis wasn’t feeling well. We ended up getting a hotel room in hopes that we wouldn’t spread germs, so I dropped Travis off and went to my dad’s to get his things.

Unfortunately, he shared his stomach bug with me, and by Friday morning, I joined him at the hotel.

Thankfully, the kids are old enough to (mostly) fend for themselves. They hung out with my dad, my brother’s family, and my mom and Gma on Friday and then again on Saturday morning.

On Friday, the kids baked cookies and made waffles with my mom, Gma, aunt, and my brother’s family.

Then, they went to the nearby “magic tree” that we usually visit when we are in town for the holidays.

My sister-in-law sent me this pic which I really appreciated.

On Saturday, we were feeling good enough to head home. I was bummed that I didn’t get to hang with everyone on the trip, but I was glad the stomach bug seemed to only be a 24 hour one.

Fave clothes:

I have a couple of Walmart finds that have been great this holiday season. I shared these pjs the other day…

…and this green fleece is so cute and warm. I’ve already worn it a few times, and I love it. It comes in a few colors and is under $20.

Our Angel Tree gifts are due this weekend, and due to our crazy schedule, I ended up taking the kids shopping individually for gifts.

I know I can find most things on Amazon, but I really want the kids to be intentional about choosing gifts and thinking of others…no matter how busy of a season we are having.

On Sunday, Hadley and I headed to Target. She got us drinks at Starbucks while I picked up a few things I needed, and then we shopped for the girl she chose.

I didn’t know what I was ordering, but I saw the iced gingerbread latte on the menu and went for it. I don’t want to know how many calories it has…because it is delicious!

On Wednesday, Hadley had volleyball practice after school, and I picked up Hayden from school and headed to Target. We shopped for the brothers that he’d picked from the tree.

On Sunday, I suggested we go ahead and put ornaments on the tree. The house was a mess, but I knew we had a busy week ahead.

I’m so glad we took the 30 minutes to do this. The tree looks even better now, and it’s always fun to see the ornaments year after year.

On my Sunday Trader Joe’s run, I picked up some seasonal favorites!

Last week, Hadley’s volleyball pics came in, and there were so many great ones. This one was my favorite:

Tuesday was 8th grade night for volleyball. I honestly can’t believe we are hitting these middle school milestones.

The school did an awesome job celebrating them, and some of the volleyball moms were so thoughtful to order flowers and a balloon stack.

The posters the coaches put out were so fun to see.

The athletic director even took family photos after each girl walked in. This might just have to be our Christmas card pic. haha

Favorite Mom Meme:

I’m not sure I’ve ever related more to a meme than this one…lol

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday

When I was making the Shutterfly ornaments, I went down a rabbit hole of old pics. These ones of the kids with Santa about did me in!

So sweet.

I decided to print them and put them in frames I already have out. It’s a cute way to “decorate” and share memories as well.

Weekly Recap:

I had a few posts this week including some memes and a couple of fun link ups:

I’m thankful for a pretty chill upcoming weekend, but I do think it’s going to include monitoring a science fair project. Bah humbug!

Thanks for reading,

Hello and happy Friday!

How was your week? We had a really good one.

It might be that our evenings are busy with cross country and volleyball, but I felt like we all had to manage every minute of our evenings this week. The kids have really seemed to have a lot of homework, so they were up late a couple of nights.

Anyway, we’ve made it to the weekend!

As always, I’m linking up with Erika and Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are my favorites from the week:

On Saturday night, Hayden ran in distance festival at Bellarmine. Thomson Training, my nephew’s running club, hosts this event in honor of Trav’s dad. Some of the best runners in the state were there. Hayden ran a great race around the track with a sub 5 mile.

It’s been amazing to see how this event has grown in the past three years, and it’s inspiring to see all the runners there in honor of Trav’s dad who was a huge supporter of cross country.

On Sunday, we went to the UK volleyball game. Some of Hadley’s friends went too, and my brother, his family, and my mom were there as well.

Kentucky won, and it was a fun afternoon at Rupp!

Since my mom was visiting, she brought the kids their birthday gifts a few days early.

The main reason my mom came to visit was to go to the Eagles concert. They are on their “Long Goodbye” tour. She really wanted to go, so my brother and I went with her. It was a late night on Tuesday, but we really enjoyed the concert. The Doobie Brothers opened for them, and I knew most of their songs too!

Hadley had quite a lot of fans at her volleyball game on Wednesday. Besides my mom and brother, my niece and nephew came too.

Remember my trip to Walmart on election day? I picked up these two trees, and I finally put them up over the weekend. They are perfect!

I can’t wait to get my other Christmas decorations out…maybe this weekend?

I’ve shared these in previous years, but these wireless outlets (with remote!) continue to save the day, especially during the holidays. I used one for the tree in my room, one for the tree in Hadley’s room, and then one for these trees. It’s difficult to get behind the mirror, so I plugged the trees into a power strip, and then plugged the power strip into the wall.

Every night, I use the remote to turn off all the trees. (Hadley sometimes turns her tree off by clicking the button on the outlet before I go to bed.) So, you don’t have to use the remote.

Anyway, I just thought I’d share in case they might come in handy for you.

Favorite Mom Meme:

Like…how long would they make it? haha

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday:

These two are about to be 14. How can that be?

From 4 to 14…It’s gone by in a blink.

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts from the week:

What are your weekend plans?

Our weekend includes a volleyball tournament, a cross country race, some basketball games, and we’re squeezing in some time to let the kids have fun with their friends to celebrate their birthday.

I already need a nap on Monday!

Have a great weekend,

Hello and happy Friday!

How was your week? Ours was good, but just felt extra busy. I’m ready for the weekend, that’s for sure.

As always, I’m linking up with Erika and Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

Well, this was me all week…can you relate?

That being said, I love DST and “falling back.” I know, I’m the odd (wo)man out!

Last Saturday, Hayden had is first race of club season in Louisville. It was a national race with runners from California, Missouri, Georgia and more! The weather was perfect for running, and he ran a great race…a minute faster than the same race last year.

His team got second overall, and they also gave out awards by state, and he was a top runner in Kentucky.

Hadley had so much fun at her friend’s birthday party on Saturday night. These fun girls got together for fun, food, trivia, and a movie.

I can’t believe Hadley will be the next one is this group to be 14!

Hadley helped me pick out the Christmas tree on Saturday. On Sunday, she helped me fluff it and add the garland…then she swiped my favorite Christmas sweatshirt…haha

I shared in yesterday’s post that we usually get a real tree for the living room, but last year, after cleaning up the dry needles and mess, Travis said, “never again!” While that’s a bold statement, I am ok with an artificial one for now. It just means I can put it up whenever I want. haha

Anyway, I heard all the hype about the “viral” Home Depot tree. Since it seems sold out, I saw others share this one as a good second option. I knew when Hadley saw that it has white lights and/or colored lights, this would be the one she wanted. While I prefer the white lights, the colored lights are fun too.

This tree comes with a remote, and the lights can also faded off and on and blink. I don’t really need that feature, and the other one had a twinkle option. I do think I would like that, but this one has worked out great, and the price is really good too.

No school Tuesday was a favorite. It was nice to have some downtime, but I was also really productive too!

Tis the season!

Hadley sent me a birthday/Christmas wish list, and this attention to detail made me LOL.

I have a new favorite nail polish.

My nail lady almost doesn’t know who I am anymore. I almost always get Funny Bunny or Bubble Bath, but I tried a pretty brown last time, and this time, I tried this navy color. It’s OPI Less is Norse. I really like it! Like…who am I making these bold statements with my nail color choice?

Favorite Food:

I tried a new recipe on Sunday, and it was a hit.

I will definitely make it again.

Favorite Clothing Item:

I can’t quit SSYS!

Their new Ainsley pullover is so soft, comfy, and stylish!

Favorite Mom Meme:

Amen.

Not Just a Mom:

On Monday, we have our monthly Not Just a Mom link up. This month’s topic is comfort food. I think I will start with the recipe in today’s post and go from there. We’d love to have you join us for this link up.

Hello and happy Friday!

This week really flew by for me. I’ll take it considering Halloween was on a Tuesday. That should never be a thing!

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are my favorites from the week:

I took the day off last Friday because we had friends coming into town to go to Keeneland.

I really like the corduroy dress that I got from SSYS a couple of months ago. I wore it with the suede boots that I got on clearance from Target at the end of last winter.

The weather was overcast and blustery, but we had a good time.

We had a table in the clubhouse, so we were mostly out of the elements. It was nice to step outside and watch the races when we wanted to and walk around the paddock.

Afterwards, we went to dinner with other friends who could join us.

It was a long day and a late night, but we had fun with our friends.

Last weekend, Hadley went to Great Wolf Lodge with the Young Life school group, and she had a blast. This is the third year she’s gone, and she always comes back with so many fun stories and wonderful memories.

We carved pumpkins on Sunday evening which is a favorite tradition…at least for me!

The kids had lots of fun trick-or-treating despite the freezing temps.

On Wednesday, Travis had the end of season cross country banquet. We were able to cater in food from a nice local restaurant, and Travis talked about each of the runners. Of course, the kids loved the dessert too. It was nice to get together to celebrate all of the runners.

I can’t believe this is Hayden’s last middle school cross country season.

School volleyball officially started this week. We’ve had fun watching Hadley and her teammates play.

Favorite Mom Meme:

This is 100% Hadley!! Hayden mostly just leaves his clothes on the floor…lol

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday :

This little graphic popped up in my Facebook memories, and I could add a current photo. I thought it was a fun side by side for comparison.

Weekly Recap:

I had a few posts this week:

I hope you have a great weekend. I’ll be back on Monday to share my Amazon purchases this month.

Hello and happy Friday!

How was your week? Ours was pretty good, and we had some downtime in the evenings which was very much needed.

As always, I’m linking up with Erika and Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

Hayden had a lot of fun with this friends at a UK basketball/football charity event last week. They bowled with some of the players and got autographs and pictures.

It’s almost middle school basketball season, so Hayden’s on a rec team, and it’s always fun to watch him play basketball.

We enjoy watching him run, but we think it’s important for him to have other interests, and I’m glad he still loves basketball.

The cross country season wrapped up a couple weeks ago, and Travis is having the end of season banquet next week. We got the team and individual pics back, and I can’t believe how great they turned out.

Here he is in 6th and 7th grade. My oh my…no one prepared me for how quickly kids grow up in middle school!

My mom & Gma visited this past weekend, and it was nice to see them. It was a very low key weekend with not much on tap, so we had time to hang out, play a few games, and the kids loved their souvenirs that my mom picked up for them on her recent trip to Ireland.

I love the view from my front porch this time of the year. Unfortunately, many of the leaves have already fallen off. I hope they can hang on a bit longer.

Favorite Clothes:

It’s a simple sweatshirt, but I was at Walmart recently and snagged this hooded sweatshirt in two colors and two sizes. I got my regular size large in the gray, and then I sized up in the blue color, so that I could wear it with leggings. You can’t beat the $9 price tag!

Favorite Food:

Random photo, but I was kind of in a lunch rut, and tried something different for me. I made pita pocket sandwiches for lunch a couple of times this week.

One has rotisserie chicken and shredded mozzarella. After I warmed it in the microwave, I added some BBQ sauce. The other one has Pepperjack cheese and turkey pepperonis. I’ve also made both and put them in the toaster when I’m home. That’s the preferred method, but the microwave melts the cheese and makes for a decent lunch.

This weekend, I’m hoping we can squeeze in our traditional “spooky meal” & pumpkin carving.

Favorite Mom Meme:

This has been true for a long time. lol

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday

With Halloween next week, I’m always nostalgic for the years when the kids were little. This Batman and Robin duo will always be my favorite.

Weekly Recap:

I shared a little bit of everything this week: memes, holidays, clothes, and musings!

What are your weekend plans! My weekend starts today with a fun day at Keeneland with friends. Also, Hadley has some fun weekend plans, and Hayden has a basketball game. We hope to make it to the UK football game too.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Hello and happy Friday!

TGIF, am I right?

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

I haven’t done this in a while, but I’m sharing a favorite for each day.

Friday:

No picture, but on Friday, Hadley tried out for my school’s club volleyball team that will play January-May. Once she gave up dance, she knew she wanted to focus on volleyball, and this tryout was one she was both nervous and excited about. The tryout was from 6-8, and by 8:30 she knew she was on the team. She was so excited, and we’re really proud of her.

Saturday:

In Monday’s post, I shared my top 5 from the weekend…and three of them happened on Saturday. Hayden had an awesome state meet race, Hadley and friends had fun at cotillion, and my MIZZOU Tigers beat the CATS.

Saturday was an amazing day.

Sunday:

The highlight of my Sunday was making the quick trip to the pumpkin patch. I shared these pics in Monday’s post, but…

…here are a few more…

You can never have too many pics from the pumpkin patch!

I love all the pumpkins.

Monday:

A cup of my new favorite coffee is what got me out of bed on Monday morning. One of my friends brought this flavor on fall break, and I loved it. She picked up a few more for me with her Walmart order. #itsthelittlethings

Real talk — life has been hectic, and it’s been hard keeping up with it all. I knew that we might actually have a few nights of dinners together! (crazy but true), so I was intentional about planning out the “You are Special” plate for dinner.

We were celebrating Hayden’s cross country season, and he’s off to a great start in school.

Tuesday:

Hadley got the red plate on Tuesday. Besides the club team, Hadley tried out for her school team on Monday. While we didn’t find out the results until Wednesday night, we were still celebrating her effort.

Also, on Tuesday, I wore my new Etsy sweatshirt. I got this jack-o-lantern sweatshirt in the color “sand,” and it’s a new favorite.

Wednesday:

No picture, but Travis got the red plate on Wednesday. He did a great job with his runners this cross country season.

Also, we had an evening at home with nothing on the agenda, so I continued watching Beckham which I’ve really enjoyed.

**Also, Hadley found out she made the school volleyball team.**

Thursday:

At the end of a busy week, I loved a rainy night at home with LEFTOVERS for dinner. On Wednesday, I made this (one pot!) pasta dish which is a family favorite, and I was so happy to not have to cook on Thursday night!

Favorite Mom Meme:

LOL! LOL!

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday:

This week, some of my Facebook memories have been filled with elementary school photo day pics. *sigh*

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts from the week:

What are your weekend plans? Hayden has a couple basketball games, and I think that’s about it for us.

See you back here on Monday!

Hello and happy Friday (the 13th!)

Shew…re-entry after a week off has about done me in. It was a good week, but it was also a busy one.

As always, I’m linking up with Erika and Andrea for Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

While leaving the beach is never a favorite, arriving home to fall-like temps definitely was a favorite. This whole week we’ve had beautiful weather.

Today, I’m sharing some fall “faves” from the week.

I really do love Trader Joe’s candles, and I’m a sucker for a variety pack of fall scents. This week, I’ve already burned all of these, and they are fabulous. I think Maple Sugar is my fave.

Trader Joe’s has had their pumpkin bagels for a while, but just last weekend we finally spotted the pumpkin cream cheese. Hadley was so excited.

*not me buying more mums because I thought the little pot was cute*

I saw these smaller mums when I went to TJ on Sunday, and they made me happy.

I like to change the background of my flat panel to fit the season…

…so this is my classroom view when I don’t need to use my flat panel:

I’ve seen some fun fall content on Insta…

How cute is this graphic from @bloomdailyplanners:

I loved this little Diet Coke ghost from @ashton.creates

Check out her “Let’s go ghouls” series on Insta.

I’m not sure when it happened, but October has been a favorite month of mine for a long time.

I’m not sure about a scary movie, but I love fall movies. It will be pumpkin carving time soon! Apple cider has been a staple in our home since September. You know I love to light a fall candle, and I’ve been enjoying the cooler morning air. Yay! I’m 4 for 4 with my workouts this week. I’m trying to get back on track!

Favorite outfit:

How cute is this quilted top from Shop Style Your Senses? It’s the “Ava” top, and I got so many compliments when I wore it on Tuesday.

Favorite Mom Meme:

We made it to 8th grade before I really started feeling this way, but here we are:

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday:

There’s a big game this weekend…My MIZZOU Tigers are coming to Lex to play the Wildcats. Both teams are 5-1….and while I don’t get my hopes up for a win for MIZ, I hope it’s a good game.

I think 2011 was probably the last time my kids were Tigers fans. haha

Weekly Recap:

Here are posts from the week:

What are your weekend plans? We have a lot of fun going on. Hayden has the state cross country meet, UK plays Missouri in football, and Hadley has cotillion dance that she’s really looking forward to. Hayden’s supposed to go as well, but apparently he “can’t miss” a football game!

If we can find some time for the pumpkin patch, I hope to do that too!

I hope you have a great weekend.

Friday Favorites {#177}

Hello and happy Friday!

TGIF –It was another week school and busy evenings, but we’ve made it to the weekend.

As always, I’m linking up with Erika and Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Why not round out the month sharing photos from Shay and Erika’s Photo Challenge like I have the past few weeks?

Here are some favorites from the week:

September 22: Festival

No photo, but the kids went to Oktoberfest on Friday night.

Trav and I went last year, I always find the Bingo tent!

September 23: Autumn

The best autumn quote on the first day of fall.

September 24: Comfort food

Soups are definitely a comfort food, and on Sunday, we had a nice fall meal followed by a yummy fall dessert.

I made Bev’s Simple Chicken Pasta Soup and Apple Cider Donut Cake for dessert.

September 25: In my cup

I started Sunday morning off on the back patio watching Southern Charm while sipping my coffee in one of my favorite mugs.

September 26: Crisp

Well, I could have said “crisp fall air” as we’ve had some cooler mornings and evenings, but really our grass has been “crispy” from lack of rain!

September 27: Memory

I always love this sweet memory of when we took the kids to the pumpkin patch for the first time in 2010.

September 28: early

Quiet early mornings with coffee, a candle, light up pumpkin, and the local news. That’s how I start most of my mornings, but in the fall, it’s even better.

Other Faves:

This Life in Lilac candle is amazing. It’s my first time buying one of Jen Reed’s candles, and it won’t be the last.

Saturday night was a favorite because of the fall temps and a night at home. We pulled the sunroom tv outside and hung out while watching the Mizzou game.

8th grade school pics came in, and they are definitely a favorite. This is the first school pic in a few years without the kids in braces.

Hayden joked with me that he wasn’t going to smile, but I’m so glad that he did…Hadley too, of course.

I made a trip to my favorite place to pick up pumpkins for our front porch. This is one of my favorite things to do every year.

My dad came to visit for a few days. Of course, we took the traditional porch pic, and he was able to see two of Hayden’s races as well as my nephew’s football and baseball games.

Hayden had two great races this week. He had a top 5 finish on Saturday in a very competitive race where he had a 4k PR by over thirty seconds. He really pushed himself to he finish.

Trav’s brother got a few great pics of him running which I always appreciate.

On Tuesday, our district had their end of season championship 4k, and Hayden placed 1st!! He was 1st place in the elementary race his 5th grade year, so it’s neat that he did that again as an 8th grader.

Of course, we’re proud of all he’s accomplished this season. The state meet is in a couple of weeks.

Favorite Mom Meme:

This is very relateable.

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday:

Ahhh…I feel like the three years of middle school have flown by!

Hayden through the years:

(8th grade left, 6th grade top right, 7th grade bottom right)

…and Hadley through the years:

(8th grade left, 6th grade top right, 7th grade bottom right)

Weekly Recap:

Here’s a peek at my posts this week in case you missed one:

Well, it’s officially fall break for us, and I’m ready for it. We have some fun plans, so I don’t know how often I will post next week, but I have a few posts planned, including Prime Purchases on Monday!

Have a great weekend!
