Hello and happy Thursday!

How has your week been? So far, we’ve had a good one but with a couple of late night! Today is like my Friday since we don’t have school tomorrow.

Anyway, with back to school, that means I’m actually putting on a decent outfit, applying makeup and not wearing my hair in a bun!

I captured my outfits from the past week or so, and I’m linking up with Kellyann and Jill to share those today.

On the first day of school, I wore one of my favorite dresses. The “Everyday” dress from SSYS which I paired with my favorite strappy Target sandals.

The second day of school is when I forgot to set my alarm, but I still pulled myself together. I wore this flowy floral dress and my big buckle Birks.

I also wore this dress to church on Sunday.

I forgot to snap a pic on Friday, but I wore jeans and school shirt. As soon as I came home, I threw on leggings and a sweatshirt before we went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Saturday morning, I was in my pjs until 11:00, and then I worked out. After that, I showered and put on this flowy guazy dress, my Air Maxes and a KC hat for our time in Cinci at Top Golf and the KC/Reds game.

Hayden said, “MOM! That’s not a baseball outfit!” But…this dress is light weight and got me through the afternoon and evening in the hot and muggy weather.

Sunday, when I went to run errands with Hadley, I wore my typical “momiform” of leggings and over-sized t-shirt. This is another one from SSYS, and it feels like butter.

Instead of wearing a ball cap like usual, I did throw on a headband to look a little more put together.

On Monday, we were to wear pink to school, and I wore one of my fave Amazon shirts, with white jeans and my Birks.

Shew! Tuesday was a long day, and I felt cute and comfy from 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM that I was at school. I had school, a meeting after school and then Hadley’s volleyball game, so it was quite the day.

I wore another SSYS dress with my other Target strappy sandals and fave Amazon cardigan (that I have in three colors!).

Yesterday, I had a hair appointment after school, so, again, I knew it was going to be a long day and I wanted to be comfy. I wore these joggers with the same black SSYS top from Sunday and sandals.

So, that’s what I’ve been wearing. I really liked everything I wore this past week. Which outfit is your favorite?

Friday Favorites {#217}

Hello and happy Friday!

Well, I’m trying to stay positive, but this time next week I will officially have to be thinking about school since my meetings/professional development start on Monday, August 5th.

I will be soaking up my summer days until then.

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the past week.

Well, I’m taking it back all the way to last Friday when I spent most of the day at the pool. Unfortunately, this week has been pretty overcast with some rain, so I haven’t had any more pool time. Maybe I can go there for a couple of hours today?

I bought Emily Giffin’s new book, and I’m really enjoying it.

Hadley went to the lake last weekend with her friend which is always a good time.

Instead of buying flowers at Trader Joe’s this week, I cut a few off of our huge hydrangea bush, and they are so pretty.

The only thing that gets me somewhat excited about back to school is when I purchase my planner. This is the third or fourth year that I’m using the Happy Planner. After using the big version a few years ago, I’ve bought the smaller version ever since. That being said, the layout I prefer can apparently only be found in the set that comes with some stickers. I always find these at Michael’s, and they are always at least 30% off + I get a teacher discount!

The next step for me is to actually open the box and start writing in meeting dates and kids’ activities. Maybe I will get to that this weekend.

Last Saturday night I had the house to myself, and I watched I Am Celine Dion. Wow! It broke my heart. While what she’s going through isn’t a favorite, she’s always been a singer that I love.

OK! I have to get back on track next week. This week, I had too many sweets. While I was out running errands last weekend, I picked up this s’mores cupcake as my Saturday night dessert, and it was so good.

Then, on Sunday, we celebrated Trav’s mom’s birthday, and the cake from Costco was so delish!

Have you seen these pizza cookies at Aldi? Run, don’t walk! They are less than $4, and they are baked in less than five minutes. This is my second time picking one up at Aldi.

It’s even better with a scoop of ice cream!

Well, after eating all those sweets, I was happy to see this notification after one of my workouts this week. I’ve completed 300 workouts on Bodi since I started using their programs. I’ve been subscribing to Bodi for a couple of years.

This Walmart robe has been floating around the internet, and I’ve been tempted to order it. I have a heavier robe from Target that I pretty much wear year round, but I thought this one would be great to try in the warmer months.

It comes in so many colors, and is less than $15!

I purchased the robe and this Time and Tru dress, and I’m keeping both. Clearly, I’m loving teal this summer.

I was at Dick’s Sporting Goods with Hadley this week, and saw these cute lunchboxes! Oh my…I had a purple Jansport backpack that got me through my high school years. These lunchboxes were a blast from the past.

Favorite Mom Meme(s):

Like I’ve previously shared this week, Hayden’s cross country conditioning has started, and he has to be at school at 6am. So…this one doesn’t apply to him, but Hadley’s sleeping in days are numbered.

Twice this week, she had to get up at 9:30, so I could take the kids to their workout, and you would have thought I asked her to get up at 6:30!!

Woof! Hayden’s bedroom is a danger zone!! I had hoped we’d tackle his room this summer, and it seems we’re running out of time. We need to prioritize his room and get something accomplished.

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday:

The summer of 2018 is when we realized Hayden was blind as a bat! Whoops.

I love memories that pop up with him in his glasses. I also love that he wanted the sports goggles. For a couple of years, the goggles were all that he wore.

I miss little Hayden so much.

Weekly Recap:

Here are my posts this week in case you missed one!

What are your weekend plans? It’s Hayden’s turn to head to the lake with some friends…and my girl has her FIRST high school volleyball tournament. I can’t wait to cheer her on!

Have a great weekend,

Friday Favorites {#215}

Hello and happy Friday!

How was your week? Ours was pretty good, and it included a little bit of everything.

As always, I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

Last week I was in KC to help my dad after his knee surgery. While both legs of the trip to and from KC were long thanks to delays, on my flight from Lex to Chicago, I got bumped to first class. I don’t think I’ve ever sat in first class on a flight.

I won’t let it go to my head, but I did enjoy my Diet Coke out of a real glass! Oh the little things…

…and even though the flight from Chicago to KC was delayed, this was my window seat view once we finally took off. I don’t love to fly, but I’ve gotten better about being less anxious when flying. It is kind of amazing to be up in the air and above the clouds.

Ok this is random, but we haven’t had cable for a few years, and one thing I do miss about not having cable is all of the random channels like Lifetime, TLC, and Nickalodeon, etc.

Well, while at my dad’s, we watched a lot of “Me TV” last week.

I’m an old soul when it comes to TV shows…I could watch Green Acres, Leave it to Beaver, and The Beverly Hillbillies all day long.

Also, when I left, the Major made me bring home this pack of 72 pieces of bacon for Hayden. haha

Trav’s birthday was Sunday, and I didn’t get home until five hours past my original flight’s scheduled arrival time…and I ended up flying to Louisville instead of Lexington. Anyway, we didn’t get to Lex until after midnight!

After a week away, I was happy to go out to dinner with these guys to celebrate Trav….even if it was a day late.

We ate at one of our favorite restaurants: Carson’s.

We had dessert at the restaurant, and it hit the spot.

I was able to go to the pool two afternoons this week which was nice.

I shared my July trackers on Instagram, and they are saved in a highlight. Feel free to use them and tag me!

Favorite Clothing Item:

I bought the “Sally” set from SSYS at the beginning of the summer, and it’s been one of my favorite things to wear. I have their crepe set from last summer, and it’s one I wear often as well.

We were at Walmart this week, and Hadley picked up these“Athletic Works” shorts. They are less than $7, and so soft! She’s worn them to sleep in as well as to the pool with her swimsuit.

Favorite Mom Meme:

Funny story. The past few vacations, I’ve given the kids a list to use when they pack. I’ve told them many times to figure out exactly what they need. So, if I write “t-shirt,” they decide if they need three shirts or five. Anyway, Hadley, who is often wearing a sweatshirt, and for sure has too many sweatshirts, packed one sweatshirt on our recent vacation….to the Pacific Northwest…where you might actually need a sweatshirt even in the summer.

Well, joke’s on me…of course, she ended up buying not just one but two sweatshirts on our vacay.

Weekly Recap:

I’ve been a busy blogger lately. Here are my posts going back to last weekend:

What are your weekend plans? We don’t have too much going on. Honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve been home on a weekend, so I hope to do some “regular” things like meal plan, place my Kroger order, stay caught up on laundry and more!

I do have a Summer Sunday post planned, so come back then!

Thanks for reading,

Summer Sandals

Hello and happy Wednesday.

I swear with a week left of school, this feels like the longest end of the school year…but I’m already in “sandal mode,” so I’m happy about that.

I saw on reel on Instagram that @laurenebown shared about the five types of sandals you need in your summer rotation, and I thought “that would be a fun blog topic!”

So here we go:

Now, she only shares five total sandals, but I’m sharing my faves in each category. Some of these sandals I’ve shared previously, but I’ve added a few new ones to the mix this spring…and will continue to wear them in the summer.

Everyday Sandals:

These “big buckle” Birkenstocks are my favorites. I bought them two summers ago, and they are the first sandals I pull from my closet.

I’ve shared these double buckle sandals many times. Hadley has them in white, and I have them in rose gold. I’ve had them for almost three years, and honestly, I wear these just as much as the Birks from Nordstrom.

(FYI: I went up one full size from a 9 to a 10). They are currently 40% off with a lightning deal (60,000 4.5 star reviews!)

Skinny:

Ok…two years ago, I fell in love with a skinny sandal thanks to a pair Amy shared. I have that pair from Amazon that are no longer in stock, so when I saw these at Target about a month ago, I snagged them right up!

They are just the same as my Amazon ones that I’ve worn so much that it’s time for a new pair. These are perfect and the price tag is less than $13!

I also snagged these at Target. While they are obviously similar to the ones above, I love the little buckle detail, and they have a Memory Foam insole, so they are also comfy. I wear these to school more than any other sandal.

I wore them on Mother’s Day, and love that they are nice, but not too dressy.

Dressy:

I love these braided heels that I got from Amazon a couple of years ago. While I do wear them often (because I don’t dress up often), they are comfy and easy to throw on.

I don’t have a wide foot, but I did get a 9.5W after ordering the 9 and feeling like it was too tight.

I wore them to Oaks this year.

I love a wedge sandal even though I always hate having to buckle them. I got these wedges from Old Navy last year, and they are so comfy. I love the padded bow because it’s soft on the top of my foot. These aren’t in stock anymore, but…

…how cute are these Espadrille wedges? They seem to be “the” wedge for Old Navy this summer…even highlighted as a customer favorite. They come in a few colors too.

Chunky:

These slides are great for summer…I mostly wear them for yard work or to the pool, but I love that they are cute and funtional.

They have almost 65,000 four star ratings.

Special:

These gold slides stopped me in my tracks when I saw them at Old Navy this spring. The shiny gold color and cute knot make for a fun little sandal. They are currently on clearance for less than $10 with limited sizes left…but if you are a 7, 8, or 9, you are in luck.

(I did size up one full size)

I’ve already worn them many times including to my friend’s outdoor wedding.

…and to school a few times.

Also,

While I’m sharing sandals…

I have these Havaianas in rose gold and silver, and I’ve had them for years. Last year, one of my rose gold ones broke, so I just bought a new pair yesterday. They are a great summer/pool sandal.

I ordered these slides last year, and they are comfy. I did size up one full size. These are less than $15, and there are so many colors from which to choose. I did size up one full size on these.

I know, I know…I have a lot of sandals, but I truly do wear them from April until early October. Also, I wear lots of dresses to school in the spring and late summer/early fall months, and I almost always wear sandals.

Instagram Reel:

I showed Hadley Lauren’s shoe reel, and she said she could help me make one using the same audio. So, I will post my five favorite summer sandals this morning on my @showmeandsweettea Instagram account. Admittedly, I’m not great about posting on Insta much, but I appreciate Hadley’s help. She’s a great assistant; maybe if I get a 1,000 views on my reel I will pay her $10 😉 Go check it out and show it some love with a heart or a comment. We’d appreciate it.

Our temps are already feeling like summer…which I will be ok with once we are out of school!

Let’s Look

Hello and happy Wednesday!

I had to double check the calendar that today is actually the second Wednesday of the month.

I’m linking up with Shay and Erika for Let’s Look.

So far this year this year, we’ve looked at:

  • How we clean our closets in January
  • Little things we do every single day in February
  • What’s in our grocery cart in March
  • Our daily quiet time/prayer time in April.

This month’s topic is let’s lookour summer closet staples.

Sandals:

After spring break, as long as the sun is out (no matter the temp!), I’m probably wearing sandals.

These Birks continue to be my fave! I bought them two summers ago, and they continue to be the first sandal I turn to time and time again.

I have some faves from Amazon too.

The rose gold double buckle sandals are another “go to” pair for me. Hadley has them in white.

The pink comfort slides I mostly wear when it’s raining, to the pool, or out in the yard.

These gold sandals are perfect to wear with dresses and easy to pack.

*I did size up one size on all three of these.

If you need dressier sandal, I bought these two years ago, and they are comfy for a heel. (I went up half a size on these.)

I wore them to the Kentucky Oaks last Friday.

Last week, I was at Target, and saw these strappy sandals. I have a pair that I got from Amazon a couple of years ago, and I love them, but they aren’t in stock anymore. These are just like them, so I snagged them right up, and was excited for the price! (20% off right now, and just under $11) I’ve worn them twice this week, and they pass the “teacher test” for footwear.

Light weight sets, dresses, and rompers:

SSYS continues to be a favorite place of mine to shop. Their crepe two piece set from last summer is perfect. You can wear the top or shorts with other pieces, the fabric is so light, and it’s an easy “throw on and go” set.

Last week, they released the spring version, and I can’t wait for it to get here. I think the price on this is a little higher, but I know I will wear it so much.

Dresses are easy to wear in the hot days of summer. A couple of years ago, I made one of our hall closets, my dress closet. That’s how many dresses I have and love.

While I’m still not “sold” that a romper is my most flattering look, I did get this one last summer, and wore it quite a bit.

Belt bags:

As you can tell from the pics above, this belt bag/cross body purse was one of my faves for being out and about in the summer.

I also love this one too, and have had it for a couple of years.

Leggings and tanks:

Again, SSYS has many of my favorite tanks and leggings, but I do have some favorite leggings and tanks from Amazon too.

Hat:

I often wear a ball cap in the summer, but this hat from Nordstrom is one of my faves.

I bought it in 2020, so it doesn’t seem to be in stock, but this one and this one look pretty similar!

I even take it with me on vacation.

This hat or visor are usually in my pool bag.

Swimsuits:

I have a couple of favorite swimsuits from Amazon. This one shoulder was new this year for fall break, and I LOVE it. I also still turn to this swimsuit (I have two patterns) that I’ve had for three years. Both come in so many colors and patterns.

Cover ups:

These three swim cover ups continue to be my faves:

My absolute favorite is this blue one that I also have in navy. The other two are a little thicker and longer, but also great.

Shorts:

I honestly don’t wear a ton of shorts in the summer, but I do have a couple of denim pairs, and I turn to this black pair from SSYS time and time again. I think SSYS is sharing this year’s version of the shorts next week.

So those are my summer closet staples.

Once I’m out of school, I’m typically in my pjs, athleisure, or a swimsuit/cover up. Oh…I can’t wait for summer days…and to be tan again!

Friday Favorites {#185]

Hello and happy Friday…and happy December 1st!

It felt odd not posting last Friday, but I’m back this week to link up with Andrea and Erika for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

I think I usually do some kind of Thanksgiving recap, but never got to it this week.

Last Wednesday, we traveled to KC to spend Thanksgiving with my family. On Thursday, I watched a bit of the parade, per tradition.

Then, we hung out at my mom’s house before heading to my dad’s cousin’s house for Thanksgiving (late afternoon) lunch.

She outdoes herself, and the tables always look so pretty. Per tradition, we have chocolate turkeys with our names on them. How fun!

We were able to get a family pic…

…and hang out with family for a while. Unfortunately, we had to leave a bit early because Travis wasn’t feeling well. We ended up getting a hotel room in hopes that we wouldn’t spread germs, so I dropped Travis off and went to my dad’s to get his things.

Unfortunately, he shared his stomach bug with me, and by Friday morning, I joined him at the hotel.

Thankfully, the kids are old enough to (mostly) fend for themselves. They hung out with my dad, my brother’s family, and my mom and Gma on Friday and then again on Saturday morning.

On Friday, the kids baked cookies and made waffles with my mom, Gma, aunt, and my brother’s family.

Then, they went to the nearby “magic tree” that we usually visit when we are in town for the holidays.

My sister-in-law sent me this pic which I really appreciated.

On Saturday, we were feeling good enough to head home. I was bummed that I didn’t get to hang with everyone on the trip, but I was glad the stomach bug seemed to only be a 24 hour one.

Fave clothes:

I have a couple of Walmart finds that have been great this holiday season. I shared these pjs the other day…

…and this green fleece is so cute and warm. I’ve already worn it a few times, and I love it. It comes in a few colors and is under $20.

Our Angel Tree gifts are due this weekend, and due to our crazy schedule, I ended up taking the kids shopping individually for gifts.

I know I can find most things on Amazon, but I really want the kids to be intentional about choosing gifts and thinking of others…no matter how busy of a season we are having.

On Sunday, Hadley and I headed to Target. She got us drinks at Starbucks while I picked up a few things I needed, and then we shopped for the girl she chose.

I didn’t know what I was ordering, but I saw the iced gingerbread latte on the menu and went for it. I don’t want to know how many calories it has…because it is delicious!

On Wednesday, Hadley had volleyball practice after school, and I picked up Hayden from school and headed to Target. We shopped for the brothers that he’d picked from the tree.

On Sunday, I suggested we go ahead and put ornaments on the tree. The house was a mess, but I knew we had a busy week ahead.

I’m so glad we took the 30 minutes to do this. The tree looks even better now, and it’s always fun to see the ornaments year after year.

On my Sunday Trader Joe’s run, I picked up some seasonal favorites!

Last week, Hadley’s volleyball pics came in, and there were so many great ones. This one was my favorite:

Tuesday was 8th grade night for volleyball. I honestly can’t believe we are hitting these middle school milestones.

The school did an awesome job celebrating them, and some of the volleyball moms were so thoughtful to order flowers and a balloon stack.

The posters the coaches put out were so fun to see.

The athletic director even took family photos after each girl walked in. This might just have to be our Christmas card pic. haha

Favorite Mom Meme:

I’m not sure I’ve ever related more to a meme than this one…lol

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday

When I was making the Shutterfly ornaments, I went down a rabbit hole of old pics. These ones of the kids with Santa about did me in!

So sweet.

I decided to print them and put them in frames I already have out. It’s a cute way to “decorate” and share memories as well.

Weekly Recap:

I had a few posts this week including some memes and a couple of fun link ups:

I’m thankful for a pretty chill upcoming weekend, but I do think it’s going to include monitoring a science fair project. Bah humbug!

Thanks for reading,

Friday Favorites {#181}

Hello and happy Friday!

How was your week? Ours was pretty good, and we had some downtime in the evenings which was very much needed.

As always, I’m linking up with Erika and Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites.

Here are some favorites from the week:

Hayden had a lot of fun with this friends at a UK basketball/football charity event last week. They bowled with some of the players and got autographs and pictures.

It’s almost middle school basketball season, so Hayden’s on a rec team, and it’s always fun to watch him play basketball.

We enjoy watching him run, but we think it’s important for him to have other interests, and I’m glad he still loves basketball.

The cross country season wrapped up a couple weeks ago, and Travis is having the end of season banquet next week. We got the team and individual pics back, and I can’t believe how great they turned out.

Here he is in 6th and 7th grade. My oh my…no one prepared me for how quickly kids grow up in middle school!

My mom & Gma visited this past weekend, and it was nice to see them. It was a very low key weekend with not much on tap, so we had time to hang out, play a few games, and the kids loved their souvenirs that my mom picked up for them on her recent trip to Ireland.

I love the view from my front porch this time of the year. Unfortunately, many of the leaves have already fallen off. I hope they can hang on a bit longer.

Favorite Clothes:

It’s a simple sweatshirt, but I was at Walmart recently and snagged this hooded sweatshirt in two colors and two sizes. I got my regular size large in the gray, and then I sized up in the blue color, so that I could wear it with leggings. You can’t beat the $9 price tag!

Favorite Food:

Random photo, but I was kind of in a lunch rut, and tried something different for me. I made pita pocket sandwiches for lunch a couple of times this week.

One has rotisserie chicken and shredded mozzarella. After I warmed it in the microwave, I added some BBQ sauce. The other one has Pepperjack cheese and turkey pepperonis. I’ve also made both and put them in the toaster when I’m home. That’s the preferred method, but the microwave melts the cheese and makes for a decent lunch.

This weekend, I’m hoping we can squeeze in our traditional “spooky meal” & pumpkin carving.

Favorite Mom Meme:

This has been true for a long time. lol

Bonus Fave: Flashback Friday

With Halloween next week, I’m always nostalgic for the years when the kids were little. This Batman and Robin duo will always be my favorite.

Weekly Recap:

I shared a little bit of everything this week: memes, holidays, clothes, and musings!

What are your weekend plans! My weekend starts today with a fun day at Keeneland with friends. Also, Hadley has some fun weekend plans, and Hayden has a basketball game. We hope to make it to the UK football game too.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Hello!

It finally has been feeling like fall, but the temps are on the rise again this week. I’ve definitely be wearing a mix of clothes lately, and I’m sharing those with you today.

Last Monday, I wore one of my favorite types of outfits: leggings, sneakers and one of my favorite quilted SSYS tops.

On Tuesday, I was feeling fall festive and wore my new jack-o-lantern sweatshirt and black cropped flare jeans with and the mules I bought last fall.

With warmer temps, I wore one of my favorite midi dresses and favorite cardigan on Wednesday.

How cute this this lavendar SSYS poplin top? I bought it this summer. It’s sleeveless, so I paired it with my favorite cardigan (again!) but in black, skinny pants, and the Amazon mules.

I apparently love a popped collar.

I was very casual on Friday with a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and sneakers.

On Saturday, after my workout, I threw on my Old Navy sweatshirt and a hat to run errands. The temps were warmer, so I threw on my favorite slides. I will wear sandals as long as possible!

I love these new Amazon yoga leggings. Sorry for the awkward side pose, but I was trying to show you the side slit. These leggings are high waisted and so soft. They are not the “suck you in” type of leggings, but the high waist is appreciated, and I did do a low impact workout in them just fine!

On Sunday, I wore one of my favorite Target dresses and boots from last year to church. Obviously, I love a cardigan, so I threw the Amazon one on again. I wore this same outfit yesterday. I usually try to wear my church outfit one day of the week to school. The less decision making the better at 7 am!

After church, I got into comfy clothes ASAP.

On Monday, I wore my favorite pink pullover with my new chinos that I snagged with Old Navy’s recent 50% off sale and the mules. I’ve only had the mules a year, but they are the perfect fall shoe!

So that’s what I’ve been wearing lately. With the up and down temps, I like to mix and match what I wear as much as possible. It will be full on sweater weather soon, I’m sure.

Hello!

A couple of weeks ago, I enjoyed sharing the outfits I’d been wearing recently, so I’m trying to remember to snap a pic when I can.

The outfits I’m sharing today are a mix of school and weekend.

We went to Nashville for a birthday party a couple of weeks ago, and I snagged this dress from Amazon. It was an impulse buy, but I really like it. It comes in a variety of colors, and it has pockets!

This outfit is brought to you by Amazon…and really –they are Amazon purchases from quite a while ago. I know I’ve had the dress, cardigan, and sandals for at least two years.

This outfit includes same cardigan, different color. Same sandals as above as well. I picked up this floral dress at Walmart last spring.

I always get so many compliments when I wear this floral Old Navy dress. I remember when I bought it, I was on the fence about it, but I’m glad I kept it. I did cut the tassels off because I hate tassels.

I always joke that I feel like I’m going to a fiesta when I wear it, but it’s a great dress for school. I’m wearing my favorite Amazon sandals from last summer, but they aren’t in stock anymore.

Friday, I wore these jeans to school and then changed out of my school t-shirt and put on my favorite Amazon cap sleeve sweater to go to the UK volleyball game.

For Hayden’s cross country meet, I wore my one of my pairs of Fabletics leggings, my SSYS workout tank, and New Balance tennis shoes.

I wore this outfit to school last Wednesday. The top is SSYS, and I’ve had my white denim jeans forever.

I wore this outfit to school yesterday. Amazon joggers and sandals and a denim shirt that I got at Target a few years ago.

Looking back at these outfits, I did a good job shopping my closet. The only new item is the first dress. Also, for me, “sandal season” lasts through September. I’m always bummed when I have to put away all my cute sandals!

Thanks for reading!

Hello and happy Wednesday!

Well, it’s been a minute since I’ve shared what I’ve been wearing.

I’ll be the first to admit that I drag my feet getting back into school mode, but one thing I do love about going back to school is wearing some of my favorite summer outfits.

So here’s a peek at what I’ve been wearing lately…

Hi my name is Jen, and I love a summer dress! I also love Shop Style Your Senses, so you’ll see a few items I’ve purchased from SSYS over the past few months.

I wore this lilac dress when we went to Hadley’s friend’s bat mitzvah. I wore it last spring to Keeneland, and I’ve worn it a few times in between. (Actually, I think I might wear it to school tomorrow!)

This is one of the pieces from their label, and I love everything about it…the color, the fabric, and the fit!

For a professional development day before school started, I wore this matching SSYS set…and threw on one of my favorite cardigans. (You never know about the room temps in a school building!)

I wore this SSYS dress on the first day of school. (I also have it in black) I also wore this dress when I met up with friends and then again to church on recent Sunday. This dress is perfect, and I love the zipper detail.

On the second day of school, I wore this cute new Amazon dress. I saw someone share it on Instagram, and I ordered it. She said to size down, so I tried a medium, but it was a bit tight in the chest. So, my typical size large is what works best.

I just thought it was a cute dress, perfect for school, and it has pockets!

On Sunday, I wore this SSYS dress to church. It’s so bright and colorful, and I love the cute ruffled collar. (and it has pockets!) Anyway, it’s a lot of fabric, so I don’t think I will wear it this week to school because of our hot temps…but I will definitely wear it a few more times before fall.

On Monday, I wore this black dress that I got last summer, and wore a cardigan over it for school. This is my same favorite cardigan, but in a different color. I wear it all the time. I’m still loving the sandals I ordered in the spring, and have been wearing them often as you can see.

Yesterday, I’m not sure why I chose the hottest day of eternity of wear pants…but I did.

At least they are my comfy Matilda Jane pants, and my favorite summer sweater. Apparently, I love a gold sandal. I think I got these at DSW, and I’ve had them for years. I love them because they are comfy, pretty, and a little nicer than flip flop style sandal.

One more addition to this post…for the first time ever, I ordered from Shein. I ordered three dresses, and really liked this one. The other two were just ok, so I plan on returning them.

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised with all three considering the state of the package that was on my front porch. The Shein package looked like it had been dropped on the highway and then sat on the side of the road for days.

Obviously, the dress needs ironed, but it think it’s cute.

Also, y’all I’ve embraced the claw clip. I just noticed in a couple of the photos, I have my hair pulled back. I’ve started to do this at least one day a week…especially if I’ve run out of time to wash or style my hair.

These are my favorite clips to use. Hadley has a couple as well because I put them in her stocking last Christmas.

Anyway, I really think this time of the year is my favorite for what I wear. After the summer of mostly wearing athleisure, swim coverups, and shorts, it’s nice to get dressed. Plus, I love being tan…lol.

Well, I can also embrace sweater weather, but I think we have a while for that. Our temps are on the rise this week with heat advisories and over 100 degree heat index. Whew!

I hope you are staying cool!
