Hello and happy Monday!
While this is a Monday I’ve been “dreading” for a bit, last week was nice easing into back to school, and at this point, I’m ready to see students on Wednesday.
It’s the second Monday of the month, so I’m co-hosting the Share Our Lives link up with some of my favorite bloggers.

So far this year, we’ve discussed…
- Saving time on chores in January
- Tips for falling asleep in February
- Day in the life, an average day in March
- Creative outlets/free time in April
- How do you spend your birthday in May
- Unique things about where you live in June
- Best vacation memory in July
This month’s topic is…how do you take a break?
Well, this topic is perfect timing considering my summer “break” is wrapping up. Before I share a few ways I take a break, I’ve always said one of the things I love about being a teacher is having built in breaks. Going into the school year, I know I will have a fall, winter, spring and summer break. Those pockets of time have been great for re-charging at home, scheduling appointments, visiting family, celebrating holidays and traveling. Also, those breaks have provided me with the opportunity to be a “stay at home mom” for pockets of time. So, I really appreciate having these breaks throughout the year.
In a more everyday setting, I take breaks by…
Sipping my coffee…

…closing my eyes for a few minutes…

…reading…

…floating in the pool…

…going for a walk…(as well as other forms of exercise)…

….and the best way to take a break is with my toes in the sand. It seems all my worries go away when I have a view of the water…

How do you take a break?
I hope you have a great Monday!

These are all fabulous ways to take breaks! I definitely find reading to be a wonderful escape too.

Those school term breaks are the best, aren’t they? The minute we walk back into preschool after every holiday, we start the countdown till the next one!

Good luck today! You will definitely have to be more intentional now about taking breaks. I agree with everything you said! Sometimes I would allow myself to read a bit during my lunch or planning period. That felt decadent! A hot drink always makes me happy, too.

I do sometimes read my kindle during my lunch break. Sometimes I eat with friends and other times I just want quiet, haha

I’m with you on a beach break. We just got home from a week at the beach with all our grands and my hubs and I say we should have planned to stay a couple days longer just us. It was so much fun but a lot of activity. Reading is a way I break. Why does it feel like a guilty pleasure? Enjoy the new school year!

I hope the return to school goes well. It must be nice being a teacher having those regular breaks but you do deserve them.
The little every day breaks you take did make me smile.

I LOVE that coffee mug. It’s so pretty! And I agree — I really do feel so peaceful by (or on) the water.

It’s so nice to let worries and stress go by looking at the water.
