Currently

Hello! Today, I’m linking up with Anne to share this month’s Currently post. I love Currently posts because they are a fun way to share a little bit of what I’m doing (or thinking) at the moment.

Celebrating:

May was definitely the month of celebration with baptism, 5th grade graduation, and some family birthdays, but now we are celebrating summer. We are in summer mode right now and savoring an empty daytime agenda before we get busier next week with some sports camps, and I’m teaching summer school a couple days a week.

Collecting:

I’m collecting {organizing} Hadley’s dance stuff. She has recital practice the next few nights and three recitals this weekend. So, I need to get her five costumes organized along with dance shoes, bobby pins, and more!

Gifting:

We just gifted a few teacher gifts at the end of the school year. Our sitter just accepted her first teaching job, so I purchased this door hanger off Etsy.

We also gave Hadley’s teacher this cute bag from an Etsy shop.

Thinking:

I’m just thinking about my to do lists before next week’s busy schedule begins. Prepping for a new sitter, evening activities for this week, and daytime activities next week just have my mind in overdrive.

Trying:

I’m trying a new workout with the Beach Body program. I’m still loving that app, and have done a pretty good job working out at home! I started Off the Wall last week, and there are three phases with workouts five days a week. I’m on week two, and always enjoy Autumn’s workouts…and I love her modifier, Kat! They all have such great attitudes.

So, that’s just a little bit of what I’m currently thinking and doing. What have you been celebrating, collecting, gifting, thinking, and trying?

See you back here tomorrow for Sentence a Day: May.

Have a great day!

    1. This is the first recital she’s been in with so many dances which means we have to go to every night of rehearsal + all three recitals. So I’m just trying to get organized! I have to rely on others to help her over the next couple days, so I want to make sure we have everything 😊

  1. I can’t believe you’re teaching summer school! I know the need is great but I couldn’t stomach it. You do have a busy week coming up! It is so different than a year ago, right? Is the pool water super cold? That workout looks great. I am thinking about joining Jazzercise for their summer deal. I have a studio really close to me. I have been walking and biking but I love a dance workout. I am worried it will be too hard!

    1. Jazzercise would be so fun! I guess the pool water feels pretty good. The kids haven’t complained 🤣 The SS money is our hourly wage, so I couldn’t pass up a couple days a week. Otherwise, you are right…I’ve always said no to summer school. I’m just splitting the position with someone which is the only way I’d agree to do it even with the really good money this summer.

  2. I agree with Amy, I’m not sure I could do summer school, especially this year. I am ready for a big break! Splitting it does seem to make it a bit better though. Full on summer mode sounds great and it looks like you are enjoying it! Break a leg to Hadley this weekend! Have fun!

    1. I think I’m mainly doing two days a week and it ends at 1:00…and double the normal summer school pay, so I figured I’d give it a try. And I’m doing student support rather than teaching full on classes. Believe me, I’m typically team “no” to summer school 😂but this seemed too good to pass up for a few days of summer. We just got organized for the recital, so we are ready. Have a great day. ☺️

  3. Love those ideas for teacher/new teacher gifts! Always nice to tuck away good ideas for next year 🙂 Enjoy the break – reading by the pool is the best.

  4. Sometimes I hate that my husband teaches high school because of the lack of cute gifts. At the same time I understand kids have many teachers in high school and gifts are cost-prohibitive.

  5. Enjoy the recital! I can’t wait until next year when my daughter will (hopefully) have dance recitals again. We’ve missed two in a row now and I miss them a lot 😦 And I need to think about teachers’ gifts — we’re finishing the year virtually so I guess we’ll have to see what we can figure out…
